Not my favorite volume of the series, because it was basically one long training session, but there were still interesting insights into the characters and their personalities, as well as a few hints about what one of the "gods" is up to.
Also, we learned a little more about the "level" system for the adventurers. It's kind of odd. They seem to gain skills based on straightforward "experience points," but levels are very hard to achieve. So, the amazingly powerful female fighter that is so key to the story is only Level 6, and recently that.
My only concern is that Hestia is being a little too obvious in her attachment to Bell, in ways that seem oddly out of synch with the other "gods." Clearly, the author is up to something, but I'm not following...I'm hoping it's a plot point, rather than a plot flaw.
We'll see. I'm picking up the next volume right away, so it's kept my interest.

Ah, this lad is quite popular with the ladies.

Bell's even caught the eye of the god of a rival familia. So many gorgeous girls who all fancy Bell. And he doesn't even fully realize it. Looks like things are progressing nicely in his training with Miss Wallenstein, and oh ho ho, what's this? Does she have feelings for him as well? Then to make him lay down with her to "nap" & her to conveniently lay in the perfect position for him to steal a kiss while she dozes? If his god hadn't come along, Bell might have gone too far... ah, the folly of youth. Things are certainly getting interesting, to be sure. I look forward to further volumes, & am also excitedly looking forward to the tie-in series. I also eventually plan to read the light novels & watch the animes. Yes, I'm enjoying this that much, & I don't usually care for sword & sorcery type stories.

Yay, Eina finally got Bell to sit still so he and Aiz could talk! And Aiz is training him, that's awesome!!!

I really don't like Hestia. Bell is devoted to his Goddess, she is taking things WAY too far. She wants him to be safe and Aiz is one of the best Adventurers there is.....why shouldn't she train him?! Oh right.....Hestia is jealous.....🤦‍♀️

Two of the most memorable characters in this manga are Bell Cranell (a boy) and Aiz Wallenstein (a girl). Before volume 5, Bell runs away whenever Aiz appears on the scene. In this volume, one of Bell's friends forces him to confront Aiz; I suspect this will be the start of something good.

Review: **Please Note May Contain Spoilers**

Not going to lie when I say that I was super excited when the 5th manga finally came out. But I was very disappointed it. I could totally see this almost as buffer episode or single issue if it were a comic instead of a volume of manga. It was all about Bell and Aiz Walenstein training together. And yes I understand that he needs to train, but literally the whole manga was just about that. I guess it was just disappointing because the rest have been drama filled, and packed with cool things. But this time around it was just kind of there... Like it would have been okay if I just skipped this manga and went straight to the 6th one.

But I guess in another way we do get to learn more about Freya is up to. And that it looks like she's done this before, sort of. I mean we still don't know the full story to who that guy is that is usually standing around her, I thought he was some sort of servant, which he is. But I didn't realize he meant more to Freya then what I initially thought. I mean there was a point where she kind of cared how he might feel, and if he was jealous of Bell? But that was about it.

Other than that though, it did fall kind of flat compared to the previous manga of this series. Again, I understand that it was used almost as a fill in so there wasn't a delay, but I don't really know if it'd go recommending to read this particular volume. I have high hopes for the next one though! Now that we see that he's training, hopefully this means he can use what he learned!

This series is just getting better and better with quality to the point it is addicting. :/ I'd hate to see it end.
