My Mom recommended this book, she read it when she was a young Mom.
This book reminded me of a lot of things I already know. Thankfully, I have been surrounded by many supportive Christian Moms who have loved me and accepted me just as I am- I have never felt pressure to be a Super-Mom and recognize my areas of weakness as well as my strengths. I have mourned for what I have lost not working out of the home anymore and have fully embraced being home with my kids (this took time). I want to live this season to the fullest- to look back with no regrets b/c someday my children will be grown up and I know I will miss these days. Finding contentment in this season of life is sometimes challenging- I think having supportive friends and family is essential- I need reminders now and then from other Moms that it's ok to make mistakes and raise your voice and to have days when you feel like you are going crazy. That doesn't mean I don't love my kids. Would recommend this book to Moms who need some encouragement and a little dose of laughter related to the ups and downs of being a Mom.
This is a nice inspirational book that covers the seasons of motherhood as well as many different aspects of motherhood. My biggest take-away from this book is summarized in the last line of the book which says that what my kids need most in me as a Mom is me. I was reminded throughout the book to be an encourager to my children and to not be discouraged when everything doesn't go my way.
