Zach has stayed away from his mate for years because he had to, but only in the last few months against his will. He had to help his sister, but he knows he hasn’t done it the right way. Still, he has no way to get away from Stan, his sister’s mate, or at least that’s what he thinks.

Kameron, just like almost every other member of the pack, has known something was wrong with Zach for months, but as the Alpha, he didn’t have the possibility to do much about it while he had other and more pressing emergencies on his hands. Now that everything seems to be fine finally or as close to it as it can be, he finally looks for Zach, and what he finds nearly crushes him.

Even after Kameron rescues Zach and his sister from months of abuse, old and new problems rise on the horizon, problems that will put a on strain their budding relationship. Will it be strong enough to resist even Kameron’s bad faith, or will the newly formed couple crumble under the pressure?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

This was book 2 in the "Gillham Pack" . This was a good read and sad at times also. Zach has none that Kameron the new Alpha of the pack is his mate for years, but because the old alpha was homophobic his parents had him taking pill to mask his scent so Kameron couldn't tell. His parents got the pills from Stan and gave there daughter to him. Some of the old alpha's friends don't like the changes that Kameron has made to the pack. Zach's parents gave his sister Ellie to Stan in exchange for giving them the pills up until two months ago when he agreed to move in with Ellie and Stan because Stan has been beating his sister even while she is pregnant so when Zach moved in Stan and his friends begin beating Zach. Kameron knows that its something wrong with Zach but he has been dealing with a lot of things that the old alpha was doing and although Xavier knows its something wrong he has seen bruises on Zach Jonah another pack member has also seen some when Kameron, Andy and Nick go to see what's going on they walk in to find Zach being beaten by Tom another one of the old alpha's friends. After taking Zach and Ellie to the hospital they find out that Tom and Stan have been beating Zach daily and that Ellie is underweight. This was a really good read Kameron wanted to mate with Zach even when he didn't know that he was is mate when he found out he was upset. When Zach is kidnapped and sold to a lab Kameron thinks that Zach has left him again. Zach was sold and handed off to Craig who is working for the "Whitedell Pack" rescuing shifter's he returns Zach and a lot of other shifter's to Gillham. This was good read Zach was a virgin when he and Kameron first had sex because he knew that Kameron was his mate. This book was well written like the first book in this series. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Now this was better than most in the series.

I really liked Zach and Kameron. There was some lovely hurt/comfort going on here.

Abbusive authority figures that lead to poor past decisions that effect present feelings in this book.

Gillham Pack #2 re-reading binge. This one has a bit more development than many of the others so 4/5 a nice meal.

Gillham Pack 2

What can you do when you realize you made the wrong decision?

Zach has stayed away from his mate for years because he had to, but only in the last few months against his will. He had to help his sister, but he knows he hasn’t done it the right way. Still, he has no way to get away from Stan, his sister’s mate, or at least that’s what he thinks.

ummary:

Zach was forced to stay away from his mate by the threat of what their old alpha would do to him than to protect his sister from the monster that she was married to. Zach had to see his mate, Kameron, for years from a distance and know that he would never be with him must have been horrible for him. Kameron never wanted to be Alpha, but someone had to get rid of their old abusive alpha, leaving him to pick up the pieces. Kameron always had a soft spot for Zach and even though he didn't smell like he mate Kameron wanted to mate him, but when Zach took off Kameron was left wondering if it would never be. The love between Zach and Kameron was apparent to everyone except to each other. They will have to trust in each other to have a chance to survive. Confusion about each others actions, old insecurities, and danger lurking just around the bend, Kameron, Zach, and their friends must band together if they have a hope to survive. The plot thickens as new characters are brought into the fold bringing new life onto an already jam packed line-up.

Zach has known that Kameron is his mate for years. He kept his distance because of his family. He finds it hard to stay away, but knows he must.

Kameron knows something is wrong with Zach but his duties as alpha kept him from determining what exactly was going on. Now that things have settled a bit, he goes to Zach and what he finds nearly destroys him. Recuing Zach and his sister from the abuse is just the beginning not the end. He finds himself facing more problems than he ever thought possible.

Zach tried hard to do the noble thing and stay away so his family would be safe, but he could not. Kameron was not sure what to do and found himself with no time to do anything. When he finally had the time, it was almost too late. Distrust reared its ugly head and Kameron had to work hard to overcome that if he wanted a future with his mate.

Catherine Lievens writes amazing stories that will have you glued to the pages. The plot continues from book to book but each book can be read out of order but you will appreciate them more in order. The world created with the Gillam Pack is an offshoot of Whitedell Pride series and the overlying plot continues. It makes for exciting reading. Read them all. You will not be disappointed.

I really disliked this book. I was quickly grew tired with Zach's whinny attitude and Kameron's easy acceptance of the excuses Zach gave. I understand that Zach was in a difficult situation but come on he had an alpha as a mate, one that he lied to constantly and left to deal with the pack on his own. When said alpha asks for time to wrap his head around finding out about the lies and deal with the pack members Zack stomps his feet and pouts like a child until he gets his way. I got so fed up with these antics that I couldn't even finish the book. I think the author was trying to make Zach appear selfless but it just played out more like he put everyone's needs before his mate, even his own. I hope the next book in the series is more balanced out or I will have to spend my money elsewhere.
