Before Zephra became one of the greatest wind shapers of the kingdoms, and before she had bonded the wind elemental ara, she first had to catch the wind.
As Zephra sets out across Incendin on a task assigned by her mentor, she must decide whether to help a young girl or continue to chase her wind so that she can rejoin the university.
A short story in the world of the Cloud Warrior Saga.
Eh!? Hard to make an informed decision as to the pros and cons of a likeability rating for D K Holmberg's book Chasing The Wind. Definitely not a standalone book. The short - very short - length is more consistent with a beginner primer for what might be a good fantasy series. Although as previously stated it is hard to present a comprehensive review from a book sorely lacking it's "meat and potatoes." Chasing The Wind reads more like a blue print/first draft than a completed book. As a blue print/first draft I would give it a 2 star rating but as a book it earns 1 stars from me.
his is a very strange book and I miss some information that may be in the previous books of the saga. Never the less it is a good and relaxing story but I don't think I will continue reading the other books of the saga."
I really enjoyed this story. Learning more about Zephra as a young woman makes me understand her better as the woman she is in the Cloud Warrior series. She had a lot of characteristics that she passed along too Tannen.
I have absolutely loved the Cloud Warrior Saga, the imagination of the entire series held my attention. It was great to just dive right into the story and get lost, in a very good way. That being said I move on to my thoughts on this series editing. Some of my ratings on these books were four stars instead of the five stars it would have deserved, I will give you a few of the reasons why I think this. The first is editing errors, whomever the "EDITOR" is needs to actually read the books. My next criticism is about how not all the books are marked properly (in the synopsis portion where you read what the e-book is about) with the order in which to read them. Also whomever did that whole debacle with the books order sucks and is off the Christmas list. I unintentionally read a few books out of order due to this. Someone please let all these editor's know not to add in a book later, then call it book 2.5. Holding back such minimal content is annoying, next time put the books that are under a hundred pages together in one book. I would pay extra to have that little convenient option. My last complaint is that I have just downloaded book eight in this series which makes me sad because I do not want the story to end. I highly enjoyed these books, the short little books in the series were more like short stories but that is just typical for me as I read fast. I had hoped the books would get magically longer that what they last more than one evening. Also I will be copying and pasting this review to the other books since it is more of a generalized review, plus it was not a spoiler review either; hate those. Buying any of these books in this series is worth it the imagination of them is great and the adventures are awesomely lively, enjoy!! -rcc
I think the story is decent and i quite like the characters and the magic concept. But since this is just a prequel, some things left hanging and to understand further i have to read the series, so yeah the ending is a cliffhanger one. That left me feel unsatisfied.
However, i prefer Zephra's story more than the first book, at least based on the sneak peek. I found Tan character dull and lack of passion, unlike Zephra.
