Overall it was alright... But the male lead was so irritatingly vague and illusive that I had a hard time feeling anything for him but irritation and the female lead was so easily drawn into his odd persona that I really wasn't easy to like her at all. If their relationship consisted of more than simply screwing, Cooper manipulating Allie, her finding out and getting mad and then her simply letting it go when he wanted to screw her, it would be much more believable.
Why doesn't goodreads have a half-star rating system??? This series was better than a 3 star but not quite a 4 star.
This book was so hard to rate, because there were things I liked and things I loathed. The plot was good - I liked that there was a little bit of intrigue mixed with the romance. I liked Cooper, even though he was secretive and hid things from Allie in the beginning. Allie, hmmm, I have mixed feelings about her. I liked that she was sassy, but she was so up and down emotionally, and most of the time I thought her reactions to things were very immature. One minute she's so mad there is steam coming from her ears and the next minute she's crying, and 10 minutes later she's having a shag with the very source of her frustration, without actually resolving anything! Over the series Cooper does open up to her...about his family, about when he first saw her, about why he wants her to hack into the competition etc. and I feel like she never really gives anything back to him. By the end of the series the reader (and Cooper) are still left in the dark about why she was so desperate to leave Kansas in the first place (one of the earlier books suggest this is some kind of secret), we're left in the dark about why she painted her walls that dark color (she only says she'll never tell her parents why???), we're left in the dark about why exactly her brother Luke is so distant from the family (...telling us he got up to no good growing up is not really an explanation), we're left into the dark about what her tattoos mean to her (she gave a one-line explanation that I didn't feel really meant much). I felt like even at the very end of the book she had never really truly opened up to Cooper, and that was a shame.
The writing itself was good, and I'd be happy to read other books by this author.
Allison and Cooper despite all differences are drawn to each other, and Cooper will do anything to have her where he wants her.
I liked the books, if you enjoy the crossfire series this will be right up your street.
The only thing lacking for me was the chemistry between the characters..... I couldn't understand the draw to one another, for the first 2 books Cooper comes across as completely unattainable and a bit of a douche to be honest, then Allison the whole draw to her being she's independent and a chase, is going all Glenn Close and cyber/physically stalking him....... Which doesn't add up to me.....
Anyway Alison was likeable enough, Cooper I wasn't too keen on he kind of flipped his light on in book three becoming OTT, just the timeline and actions/reactions all a bit untidy for me.
What I did love is the way Cooper cared about his business, he wasn't just some rich billionaire with a nice office. I did enjoy the story and the way it was written as well it was addictive and would have been a four star if characters were a bit more understandable.
This is a tug of war story. Cooper, is the billionaire who is troubled, a playboy who escapes his life with women. A lot of women. Allie is struggling, with paying off debt her ex racked up before he left. She is the hard working, no one is going to rescue me type. But her one advantage is that she is smart with computers. The story portrays Cooper as hot and cold with what he really wants from Allie. Does he want her for her computer skills and stringing her along, or does he want more.
The back and forth play is exciting and dynamic. The development between the characters is very complex. I can relate to the life hard, lessons that Allie experiences as she is tries to rebuild after being used by another man. Cooper has the dark, mysterious, privileged air about him, but as you read in, there is more than meets the eye.
I totally got sucked into this story, I couldn't wait for the next argument, the next play nice. The frustration of wanting to punch Cooper and tell him to grow up, or give Allie the hug that she so desperately needs. Definitely worth the time.
Glad I didn't have toy wait for each installment; though i felt each book had decent recaps. The last book was the most disappointing. The ending was abrupt and unsatisfying. For that matter, most issues were somewhat resolved and never revisited so that they never really feel completed. It's an easy read but seems unfinished throughout.
Another frustrating hero & heroine because they just can't get their s*** together. I have to say, I did like Cooper Brighton, the main male character, even though he was a bit of a manwhore. But at least he was focused on his business when he had to be. Allison Rand, the main female character, is a smart young woman who is a techie genius but working in a coffee shop. With all the time she's been in Los Angeles, with her smarts, could she not get a better job? These two have an immediate attraction to one another and try to avoid getting involved, but of course, they do. The four book set is an easy read. The sex is hot and the confrontations between the two characters is complicated, to say the least. I did enjoy reading the books, but one thing really stood out to me as a big mistake in the storyline. In the first book, or maybe it was the second, you find out that Allison has been a bit of a disappointment to her parents because she was a rebel wanting to break out of her small town Kansas existence and has gotten so many tattoos that now she wears long sleeves to work so as not to give the wrong impression to her customers and also to her new boss. But the confusing part is that the author says that she feels even more inadequate because her two older brothers have done well in their adult lives and are a successful sports attorney and a firefighter and that their names are Jake and Drew. In the last book, she goes home and we meet up with one of the brothers, whose name is now Ben, who runs a local body shop and the other brother is Luke, who was a real screw up in high school and now is doing some kind of sales and is AWOL when it comes to family. These two characters aren't really a big part of the books, but I really hate it when the author messes up with characters that he/she portrays in a certain way in order to justify her main character's reason for being the way he/she has chosen to live their life, and then the characters do a complete about face later on - not to mention that their names aren't even the same! The author needs to go back and correct this BIG MISTAKE! Well, that being said, Allison is fighting her attraction to Cooper all the way and is stubborn as hell and nearly always does what is really bad for her. This becomes to be a real turnoff for me after enough of her tantrums and bad actions. Cooper is giving her the space he thinks she needs, but she really gets herself in a lot of messed up situations. Will these two ever get on the same page? They certainly do well in the same bed, but other than that, they just keep making bad decisions. I recommend these books if you like to be frustrated at every turn and like yelling at the dumb things that the characters, especially Allison keep making. Apparently, it was okay for me, since I gave it a 4 star rating!
Allie is working for an ad agency when she meets Cooper a billionaire who is working with her agency with his skin products called Plush. He wants Allie to run the Ad part of it except she's an IT person. Cooper is a womanizer and wants Allie. When he tells her he wants her and kisses her at a launch party she's not sure she can trust him with her heart after it was screwed over by her Ex. When she gets fired from the ad agency over the kids with Cooper he offers her a job with his company. Can she work for him and he in a relationship with a man who's always got and cold? Great read. Also includes the complete series of Hooked.
If you want to waste your time this is the book for you. If you’re more interested in pages and pages of sex but no storyline this is the book for you. If you enjoy a chip on her shoulder heroine and a ambiguous hero with no character development this is the book for you. There’s so much awful about this book that it’s hardly worth reviewing.
Hell yeah! Awesome book. Love the characters and the drama all around. Allison and Cooper are very much the same. Passionate, stubborn, loving, and sexy as hell. Plush was very entertaining all around. Keep em coming KB.
This is a great series. Rich hot CEO billionaire with the tattooed biker beauty. Rough patches, crazy hackers, fake friends, and to many women wanting her man. Thank goodness they figure it out. Must read.
This is the full set of Plush, KB Winters at her best! Cooper is a billionaire who falls in love with Allison, who looks like a biker chick with a fire cracker temper & the tattoos to match. This set is all about their love story!
This series was free at the time I purchased it and to be honest I am happy that it was, I am not sure it I would have paid for the continuations of the book. The books were told main from Allie side however I wished I got to know more about Cooper and his side of the story. Cooper comes off egotistical however the author doesn’t develop his character to where you get to see a true human side to him. There were a lot of questions unanswered. What happened with Cole and his boyfriend at spotlight? Did Paul back always from Allison? Did they ever go to trail?
PREQUEL Omg if this prequel is any indication of what the book is going to be like, then we are in for a sexy, hot wild ride any i cant wait.
The story in this book is very well written and very well developed and the plot in this book is very fast paced. The characters in this book are very well written and well developed and wow Cooper radiates sexy alpha male like no other.
In this book we will see what makes Cooper tick and we will see what a womanizer he is. In this book we will see him happen Allie, whom i think is going to change Cooper and make him change his womanizing ways.
I cannot wait to read Cooper and Allies story and watch them, hopefully fall in love.
BOOK ONE
I am blown away by this series, it has it all, lusting, sex and a little bit of mystery.
The story in this book is very well written and well developed and the plot is very fast paced and will keep you hooked till the very last page. The characters in this book are very well written and the chemistry between Allison and Cooper is amazing, even though Allison tries to resists the attraction, and if she does not want Cooper I will help her out and take him off her hands.
In this book we will see Allison start a new job and be thrown into a new one when she meets Cooper Brighton for the first time and he demands that she be the one to fix is ads for the latest Plush cosmetics line. In this book you will also see Cooper try his hardest to get the attention of the women who has captured his attention. In this book we will see a line crossed which may cost Allison her job. Will Allison be able to resist Cooper and his advances, will she keep her job, and what part will Cooper play in all of this.
PLUSH BOOK ONE was a great read and I cannot wait to read more by this new author, and I cannot wait for more of Allison and Coopers story. This book does end in a jaw dropping cliff hanger so I will have to wait patiently for book two.
BOOK TWO oh my word what a great, and I mean great read this was, I was so engrossed in this book that I almost read it in one sitting.
The story in this book is very well written and well developed and the plot is fast paced and will keep you flipping page after page and thinking at the same time, what the heck is she doing and what the heck is doing. The characters in this book, Allison, I love her so much and feel for her at every turn when things crash and burn right in front of her face and then there is Connor, who is starting to give me whiplash with his back and forth feelings for Allison. The chemistry between these two when they are in the same room is oh so hot though and would love if Connor could man up and show some real feelings for Allison.
In this book we see Allison down on her luck and out of a job and in need of money to pay her rent before she get evicted, so what does she do she returns to her previous job of stripping agreeing to do full nudity if the owner of the club gives her all her tips. In this book we will see Connor swoop in and save the day and rescue Allison from the stage, never and makes her promise never to return to the stage again. In this book we will see Allison and Connor spend the night together only for Connor to dismiss her the next day and then not contact nor return her calls for a week. In this book we will finally see Connor come back to Allison, and he comes with a job offer for Allison and the promise of a weekend together, yet at the end of the weekend he is not seen again. Where is Connor and why does he keep leaving Allison only to grace her with his presence on the weekends???
Cannot wait for book three, really loving the writings of KB Winters....
BOOK THREE
What do you mean I have to say goodbye to Cooper and Allison??? I am not ready and I need more of them like yesterday. KB Winters the ending was fantastic and you have really outdone yourself with this breakout debut series, and will be looking forward to what your going to bring to us next.
The story in this third and final book is very well written and the plot is fast paced and your head will be spinning by the end of the book. The characters in this book are some of my favorites, Connor and Allison are amazing together even though they have a difficult time admitting it.
In this book we get answers to many questions that have been in our minds since book one but also the book ends with many loose ends and leaves it wide open for another follow up book, which I'm hoping the author will give us in the future. While reading this book my one thought all the way through was, will Connor and Allison end up together?
Loved this book and the whole Connor and Allison series and cannot wait for more from KB Winters
The epilogue starts out from Conner's point of view. Here we get a glimpse of his playboy lifestyle first hand. Then books 1-3 are all told from Allie's point of view. At the end of the epilogue Conner by chance sees Allison working in a restaurant while he was passing by. He is immediately attracted to her and has to meet her. He gets his friend who is a regular at the restaurant to give her an office job so that he can work closely with her and meet her. So Allie is hired and they meet. Their relationship seems to be based on an undeniable attraction, sex, and business. Allison is not sure if Conner is for real even after he pays her rent and takes her out to fancy dinner parties. Someone snaps a picture of the two together kissing at the company dinner party and now the line between business and pleasure is drawn. Does Allie keep her career or does she get Cooper?
I liked the chemistry between Cooper and Allison ( Sassy biker girl meets High power CEO playboy who always gets what he wants...in a way they are similar) and the story is fast paced and interesting to read...never a dull moment.
How much can one person take? Allie just didn't seem to be able to get a break. Every time her life and job were going well, someone was out to sabotage her. Cooper meets her, is so attracted to her (he must have her), that he is instrumental in getting her a job, but then he was also the cause of her losing it. Then he hires her to use her computer expertise to hack into computer programs in order to find out who was trying to ruin his company. Because she was doing this illegally, once they catch the individual, they can't use the info she found while hacking. If these problems weren't enough for Allie to deal with, Cooper is a control freak, and is constantly trying to make her confirm to what he wants. So many times I wanted her to stick by her decisions, and quit letting him in. He was also kind of mysterious and was keeping a secret from her, and when she asked about it he ignored her. He was so strong and controlling, I give her credit for sticking with him. l loved Allie's character and kept rooting for her.
The Plush Series takes readers on such a magnificently emotional ride full of sexual tension, anger, frustration, sadness, and bliss it's an action packed roller coaster ride full of suspense & drama. K.B Winters does a fantastic job of creating this building tension between the two main characters and not making it seem overly dramatic throughout the book.
I started this series and was unable to put it down from the time I picked it up to the time I got to the last book. This is one incredibly hot and steamy read and it is addicting!
When a job of a life time doesn't exactly work out. Things get out of control when you uncover some things that make you question every thing and every one. The one man you want to trust laves little to believe and the one friend you have may not be a friend at all. Beautiful story of struggle, trust, letting people in and family. It's the journey that makes us who we are. Read for free for honest review
Great read! Cooper is that billionaire playboy out for his next conquest when stumbles upon Allie in a coffee shop. He suddenly finds himself self inexplicably drawn to her. Due to his need to control everything and everyone he is able to draw Allied into his arms through his tangled Web. This book had me on edge wondering if Allies strong personality and stubbornness would turn away Cooper. He also has his deacons to deal with before they can find happily ever after. Loved this one!
Where to start...well I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on, I love the twists and turns. I love the fact that there was never any cheating and that two opposites attract and mesh so good together. If you are looking for a dominant male (who at first is about of a jerk) and a stubborn female, this is a good book for you to read.
Alison was a push over and it irked me most times. Her infatuation with Cooper and being so gullible mad me want to shake her. She was not a strong heroine in any sense of the word...Cooper was the usual alpha male type and he used his charms, power and money well...he was over the top at times, too domineering even though he suffered tragedies in life.
