Mitch Burnett wishes he hadn’t promised his neighbor he’d look in on his niece (an Amish widow) while she’s house sitting for the summer. He’s sure she’ll be a prudish pain in the ass. But Hannah is not what he expects. Her full curves, pretty face and innocent demeanor take him off guard. To keep his lust in check, he keeps his distance. However, he’s unprepared for her unexpected attraction to him. The closeness of his thickly muscled body brings on sensations Hannah has rarely felt. She brazenly asks Mitch to have sex with her, thinking a one-night stand will put an end to the stimulating feelings. Unable to resist, Mitch tables his more dominant urges for a night with Hannah. But what starts out as a one-time fling turns into a steamy affair. Each time Hannah embraces something new, Mitch discovers he wants more until he finally introduces her to his dominant practices. However, an assault on Hannah and a terrible loss make her question her behavior and send her running back to her roots to find the answers.
I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively, but I much prefer being a homebody.
I began writing erotic novels with an emphasis on erotic spanking five years ago never dreaming that I would get published. I just celebrated the release of my eleventh title and am very thankful to my publisher, Pink Flamingo, for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy a fun career. While my earlier books lean more towards straight erotica that will appeal to only a very select audience, my last five books are erotic romances. I enjoy hearing all comments from readers. DNF at 66%. I tried, I really, really did, but this book drove me crazy and I read for pleasure not to be frustrated. First there was the author's inability to get her tenses correct in her writing, which spoiled the flow of the book for me- you're a writer get a good proof reader - preferably someone with good english! Second Hannah - what a sanctimonious boor she was harping on about blaspheming, her dead husband not rocking her socks in bed, having a puppy that chews everything - "oh dear I feel gulity" says Hannah and he is a bad pup for peeing and pooing in her aunt's house - pups do that - she should have known this, her nudity- I couldn't go on with the book, forbid if she goes to the anything goes sex club. Mitch - "this woman is a walking contradicition I shouldn't touch, she thinks a hint of leg is a sin - but I want to take her to my mates sex club have her walk around half naked and share her even if she has strick beliefs". That will be either his worst nightmare or his dream come true but I couldn't wait. What an ahole It just didn't work for me - it seemed a good premise, but it was too long, moved too slow, and the characters just didn't do it for me.
Mitch Burnett’s life seems to be up in arms, after he agreed to look after his neighbors’ niece. Matt has a set of expectation for Hannah that Hannah quickly dispenses. Mitch is also a Dom. He tries to keep is lust for Hannah in check, but Hannah’s forward nature takes him for a run for his money.
Hannah Hershberger is staying at her Aunt’s house while she is away. She is thinking over her life and where she wants to go from here after the death of her husband. Hannah struggles with her faith and the modern world. She is not sure which way she will go but she wants to expand her horizons. Hannah is very forward person, asking for what she wants is not what I expected from an Amish woman.
The connection between Hannah and Mitch is intense. I loved that Hannah was forward and direct than I expected. The only thing I was thrown by was how she adapted to modern conveniences so quickly. I expected Hannah to have more problems than she did. I enjoyed how once Mitch got to know her, he tried to help her more and more. The sex scenes were scorching.
I found this book well written with a unique plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating. While the ending was a little predictable, I enjoyed the twists and turns that kept this book interesting. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very entrancing book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.

Very good follow up to The McGilley Trilogy featuring Mitch's story. With touches of humor, suspense & romance backed by hot erotic scenes, this is another keeper by Ms. Wane.
BJ Wane is a new to me author, and I was amazed at how sexy and erotic the book is. Hot, too!!! *fans myself* Hannah is a submissive, and Mitch is hunky, sexy Dom, and their chemistry just explodes off the charts! But since Hannah is new to being a submissive, I love that Mitch is patient and is wiling to take his time with her. Their romance is both sweet and hot, the tension serving to heighten my interest in the story. The humor is also unexpected. I found myself enjoying this story a lot!
BJ Wane is a favorite. This book is a sequel of sorts to The McGilley Trilogy. It features the McGilley's good friend Mitch Burnett and the recently widowed Hannah Hershberger. We get updates on the other three couples (the McGilley brothers) because of their friendships with Mitch.
Hannah is housesitting for her aunt while she and her partner are traveling. She left her Amish community after losing her husband partly because the community wanted her to remarry and partly because she wanted to explore the world outside the community. She's hooked on the for Dummies books--having ones for plumbing, car repair, computers, etc.
She and Mitch, a contractor, meet when she's trying to fix her car (using the Dummies book, of course). He assists her and she invites him to dinner as a thank-you. Their mutual attraction is instant. After a few more meet-cute situations, Hannah's attractions to Mitch lead to her asking him to have sex with her. While Hannah struggles to mesh her newfound life and feelings with her faith, she and Mitch embark on a sexual relationship.
Mitch is a Dom and frequents Colin McGilley's club. He isn't really looking for a relationship, but is drawn to Hannah's openness and strength as well as her innocence and naivete when it comes to sex. He sets about introducing her to his lifestyle, which Hannah thoroughly enjoys.
Hannah meets and hangs out with the now wives of the McGilley brothers, Kayla, Olivia, and Anna. Because of their similar strict religious upbringings, Anna becomes a close friend and confidant.
There is also a mystery that runs through the story involving Hannah who is mugged one night and whose car is robbed another. Who is targeting Hannah and what do they want? When two incidents combine to bring violence to Hannah, she runs. Will Mitch and Hannah be able to find the way back to one another?
I really enjoyed the story. It is sweet, fun, and funny. I love how both characters grow through their interactions. As with The McGilley Trilogy, it is a book I reread often--mostly after I hit the a McGilley story (or two or three...). As with the trilogy, I sometimes seek out certain scenes I love and wind up either skimming or rereading the entire book.
This book was not complimentary. I am reviewing it of my own free will because the book, or the experience of reading it, moved me to do so. All thoughts and opinions are mine and are biased only by my experience(s).
Take one Amish widow raised in the simple, non-modern world and place her in the modern world next to a dominant hunky sex-on-a-stick and you have the ingredients for a fantastic reading experience. The sexual education of one innocent, Amish woman was fascinating to watch as she deals with her past beliefs concerning sex, her longstanding morals and her strong attraction to Mitch and his dominant lifestyle. The addition of the threat of danger to Hannah plus a surprising turn of events is merely icing on the cake. Very well done and enjoyable.
~~~~~~~~~~Shar's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Hannah is a sweet Amish widow who has decided to leave the Amish community and join the modern world. She has no idea that the sexy next door neighbor, Mitch, is a Dom who wants to introduce her to the BDSM world. The build up between these two is spot on. Lots of hot, steamy sex here. Not much of a story between the 2 main characters outside of the bedroom though. Characters are all well developed and likable. Some twists and turns and a little bit of violence add to the mix. Writing was good and easy to follow. Secondary characters also add to the mix here. I would be interested in reading about the back story of some of them as well. Overall a good read.
This is a stand alone book and does have an HEA.
This is a story of sexual awakening. This book will be a great intro into the world of erotic literature. Although this is the genre BJ Wane writes in mostly, this book is very tastefully written and very worthy of a tablet melting rating.
WOW! I was gifted a copy for an honest review, thanks.
An amazing story of a young widow, coming of age as a submissive. Her story is both moving and amazing. I loved Hannah's coming out of her shell to explore another side of life she had no idea about from her previous closed life as an Amish bride. Mitch was sexy as sin and I just wanted my very own Mitch! He had the patience of a Saint with his care in drawing her out of her cocoon into his life and adjusting so well. I loved their growing relationship, the meeting and mentoring of his friends and their wives.
It had me chuckling, laughing and emotional as she struggles. The attempts on her life and her later loss. This story has every emotion you can think off and more. I loved the two main characters building their relationship, full of depth, caring and love. I haven't had the pleasure of reading about the other characters prior and sadly funds would dictate that for me currently. But one day I hope I can, as I'd look forward to reading how each of Mitch's friends all came to form their lives, with those they too love.
I will definitely re read this book again, having felt the strength of emotions from Hannah and Mitch. I 100% suggest to others to give this book and the others previous, a DEFINITE read. It is a story with substance, depth, enough background into each of the characters for the story to flow so well. I LOVED it. Thank you CBR for the chase up, have thoroughly enjoyed. :)
First, I want to thank BJ Wane for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
This book is unlike any other book I have ever read before. I am not saying that because the genere. It is considered BDSM and I have read and enjoyed the 50 Shades Trilogy. But this was a fresh and new idea that I had never thought about!!
I loved Hannah’s character in this book! She was a very sweet, very innocent, widowed Amish woman whom was extremely curious about what it would be like to be intimate with Mitch. She was clueless on how to seduce a man let alone please a man. Not that she was a virgin per say. Just there were just things that her late husband didn’t do. What he couldn’t make her feel Mitch did and then some.
Mitch knew underneath those frumpy Amish clothing was a beautiful and sexy woman waiting to come out. She aroused him like nobody ever did before. However, he never thought he could land a girl like her. She was prim and proper and so innocent. She would never be into submissive/dom role like he would was. Would she let him teach her the ropes? Would she totally submit her full body to her?
The chemistry Hannah and Mitch shared was so incredibly hott I felt like I was watching an adult film in my head. The passion, the intimate details, showing Hannah pleasure for the first time was incredible to visualize in my head.
This is a book that I really enjoyed. I actually learned things that I had no idea about (and not I'm not talking about the BDSM lifestyle) hehe. Although that was very entertaining.
This is a book about Mitch and Hannah. Mitch is a man who is heavy into the BDSM lifestyle and after watching all his friends find their perfect mates, he is beginning to wonder if there is someone out there waiting for him. What a surprise for him when he starts thinking about his new neighbor Hannah and wondering how she would be if she was introduced to his lifestyle. The only thing is, Hannah isn't like any woman he has ever met. She is a widow and she was raised Amish. Mitch gets the surprise of his life when Hannah propositions him to have sex. Things escalate from there.
This is written as a multi pov. It seemed to jump back and forth between pov's without any warning which was a bit distracting and caused me to need to re read some parts to figure out what was going on.
The story line was well developed, the characters easy to become invested in and the descriptions to details were done nicely. Oh!! and the sexy, naught bits...were nicely done.
I was given this book through Reading Ally in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't know what to expect with this book, I just knew it was a BSDM Erotic novel. The second I opened this book I couldn't set it down, so I put all of my plans on hold and proceeded to finish it in one sitting. The book is about an Amish widowed woman leaving her family and Amish community behind to go and house sit for her aunt. She meets the hottie next door who is into kinky sex and goes to a BSDM club that is owned by his three best friends who are also brothers. The story is about two people who each learn setting from the other conveyed through flirtation and kinky sex. Hannah gains confidence and finds her true self, while Mitch finds his place within the world. It's a fantastic read! The sex scenes are plenty, HOT, and detailed. I truly recommend reading this book.
Coming into the modern world as a widow from the Amish lifestyle, Hannah's head is spinning. She is convinced that she won't find love or longing again as she prepares to housesit to break away for awhile. When the hunky neighbor from across the street comes into her life she discovers a new feeling, lust. This feeling leads her to wanting to know more about Mitch and dive into his world.
Mitch doesn't think much about Hannah when he agrees to watch over her for his neighbor. When he meets her lust sets in but he tries to rise above knowing this prudish woman won't understand his needs. What happens though when the wanting of the heart is stronger than what the mind says not to do?
Hannah & The Dom Next Door proves to be a story fully entwined with love, heartache, desire, and the want to move forward. I really enjoyed this story because it takes a strong author to tie in BDSM with an Amish upbringing. Wane gives us the hesitancy from someone not involved in the lifestyle as they tiptoe across the water into the territory of something new. Hannah & The Dom Next Door will definitely be a reread for me as I am sure I will learn something new each time I read it. If you haven't read Wane yet, this one is a must read.
I was given this book in exchange of an honest review from the author. I didn't know what to expect with this book. All I knew was that it was a BSDM Erotic novel. Erotica in my experience can either be too much or not erotic enough. I was pleasantly surprised when I started this book. The basics of the novel is a first for me. It's about an Amish widowed woman leaving her family behind to go and house sit for her aunt. She meets the hunk next door who is into the kinky stuff and goes to a BSDM club that is owned by his three best friends who are also brothers. It really is a sweet story of a woman Hannah coming out of her shell. Even if she has been married for ten years she sees what the Amish community has been lacking. In exchange Mitch has always been in the BSDM world and slowly finds himself wanting a relationship with is woman that goes beyond kinky. It's a great read. The sex scenes, and there are many, are great and detailed. The scenes from the club are also well written. This book lacks nothing. A great read!!
What happens when an Amish widow moves next door to a Dom? Find out in this amazingly told story.
Hannah, 2 year widow, needs something different than her Amish community can offer. Especially when it is hinted that she needs to move past her grief and tie herself to another member of her community.
Grow with Hannah and find out just how much she has been missing as Mitch introduces her to new experiences.
Fight with her as she struggles with her upbringing. With a slightly lenient Amish community, and her deceased husbands stricter community behind her, join her as she finds out who she is and what has been missing.
Can Hannah survive another tragedy, can she open up and let herself free? See if Mitch can bring her what she believes has been missing from her love life.
BJ Wane has a definite talent with words and can draw you in instantly! Read at your own risk because you won't be able to put it down until you devour the entire delicious morsel that encases the tale of love, acceptance, and growth.
Hannah and the Dom Next Door by author BJ Wane is really well done book. I found myself really never wanting this book to end. Hannah is a woman fresh off the Amish farms. She is getting used to many things. Driving is one. She has also lost her husband, and is fairly young herself. She wants to grab the world with both hands and see what it has to offer. She is very kind, and very willing to try anything Mitch suggests. Mitch is a dominate. He has not found his one submissive yet. He wants to find her. He just thinks she isn't out there. When Hannah comes around. He finds himself attracted more than he should be to her innocence. When she is willing to try anything he asks he doesn't think he can stay away from her. They have a lot to learn about each other. Hannah especially has to learn the ways of the modern world and Mitch has to learn sometimes the best things are worth waiting for. I loved the sweet nature to this book. There is plenty of hot sex but the wonderfully sweet story is what kept me wanting more.
This was a different kind of story than I am used to; different in a good way though. Hannah is an innocent woman dealing with the death of her husband and where her life might take her now. She is house sitting for her Aunt who lives next to Mitch. The sparks fly between the two quickly but can a Dom like Mitch have a woman like Hannah?
I enjoyed meeting Hannah and Mitch in this book. The two make a good couple even though they are total opposites. Hannah blossoms with the help of Mitch and must decide if she will go back to her old life or fight for what she truly wants. It was nice to see the two work through so much and fight for their love. This story is full of emotions and strife that will grab your attention and not let go. This is an interesting read about a young woman finding herself and maybe even finding true love.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a new author and this book was great, alpha male and a innocent widow house sitting for her aunt. Hannah was from the Amish country but wanted something more, she meets Mitch who is a master in a sex club but does not know it but Mitch is so attract to her, she to him. They try a sex relationship, things that Mitch introduce her to is very spicy. There is some angst but love come though, loved the ending. Great book, would recommend this to anyone who wants to read best romances.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review - I must admit I never read any of BJ's books before and It was a delight to read this one. This the story of Mitch who is having a blah moment in his life and can't seem to shake the feeling until he meets he new next door neighbor Hannah, Hannah is this young Amish widow trying to reconnect with modern society. A beautiful funny insightful story with his and hers POV. I will be reading the rest of her work for sure!
Hannah & The Dom Next Door ... By BJ Wane Reviewed by Terri Parks Allen
This is the first time I am reading something by BJ Wane. Holy Cow!!! Super HOT!!!! Lots of spice and has a good story as well. I actually got little teary eyed toward the end. I really like all the characters and all the details of the story. It was written very well and kept me wanting more. Highly recommended! Thank you!
This was quite a well written novel with two people from opposite worlds coming together. There were many things I enjoyed about the book: the transformation of Hannah from Amish upbringing and how Ethan and Hannah grew together. Of course, I got a great laugh at these men and how they handled being whipped!
