˃˃˃ What Everyone is Saying!

This is a heart wrenching tale of love and loss with a sexy twist in the form of rockers Jordon Valentine and Brittan McKenna. If you love sexy Rock Stars and are a sucker for a sad story then Tempt My Heart is your kind of book. Bloggers say they haven't cried this hard since 'Taking Chances' By Molly McAdams and crushed so hard on a rocker since Kellan Kyle! This standalone is a must read! Brittan McKenna and Jordon Valentine are going to rock your world.
˃˃˃ From: Three Chicks and Their Books

I loved this book hard! I love that the author went back and did back story on Brittan and Cane's relationship because it played a huge part in the story- and a massive part in Brittan's recovery. DUAL POV! DUAL POV! I love it when there is another perspective, especially a guy's- and for me, Jordon was the perfect rocker dude. Cocky, arrogant, but with a very sweet and caring side. Jordon Valentine guitarist for the rock band, Tempting Tomorrow- and one sexy rock god, is who Brittan bumps into at a kick off celebration for their tour- that's right, their tour, Jordon's band is opening for Brittan's band- fate! These two have some crazy sexual chemistry! These characters are real, honest, and up front with one another- which I love. Most novels are spent in pure angst the entire time and you want to shout "COME ON ALREADY!!!" But they actually communicate with each other and it makes it easier to see into this world Danielle has created. I can't wait for everyone I know to read it.

OH MY GOD! Grab the tissues, Danielle Jamie’s new standalone novel, Tempt My Heart is so emotionally raw its crazy, I spent at least 50% of this book crying my eyes out. Brittan McKenna hasn’t had it easy, yes she’s a rock star but her life isn’t all that awesome. She’s had 8 years of heartache and doesn’t see away out. With her new tour starting soon Brittan needs to get her head in the game and focus on what’s coming up and keeping herself clean and sober.
Jordon Valentine, the sexy guitarist for Tempting Tomorrow is a ladies man and he has his sights set on Brittan. He and Brittan have an instant sexual connection and that is about to throw a spanner in the works of all Brittan thinks she wants. Jordon Valentine gives Fall Out Boy’s Lite ‘em up has a whole new meaning and its fantastic, you’ll blush every time you hear it.
The way this book is written is so heartfelt and personal, when you cry at parts, I can guarantee she had to be crying too, there is absolutely no way you can write a novel like this without feeling all that emotion. Brittan, Cane and Jordon’s story is so amazing and inspiring you can’t help but feel connected to them and their story. The strength that Brittan had throughout floored me, going through something like that and carrying on is phenomenal.
The supporting characters are brilliant and just as well thought out and written as the main ones. Roxie is Brittan’s best friend and has been there through all the tough times in her life, she is Brittan’s voice of reason and her crutch and her point of stability. Without Roxie its safe to say there would be no Brittan. Brittan and Jordon’s bandmates became a surrogate family and throughout the novel, like Roxie they have been a crutch to help her heal and deal with her problems.
This book will make you laugh and it’ll make you cry but most of all it will make you appreciate what you have and look at life a different way, or it at least that's what it did for me. I can’t begin to express how much this book touched my heart.

I was kind of reluctant to read it, coz I don't usually like reading a novel that consist of 50% past and 50% present but after the first 'past' chapter, I continued to read it.

I didn't cry when Cane died, I was expecting a cry-fest coz that's what most of the review said about the novel, that it would make me cry like Molly McAdams' Taking Chances, etc. I didn't cry when he died...

The story's kind of the same as Fallin into You by J. Wilder, first love, the guy died, she became a singer, etc. but anyways...the story is okay...

I did cry a little when he kind of 'showed up', as a hallucination, i guess, saying she should live her life...etc. I mean, how awesome it would be to see your dead fiancee and tells you that you should move on, or scare the hell out of you to drop the pills that could kill you...

I kind of just breeze through after they were officially together...coz it ain't exciting anymore...

the story is missing this BANG!!! it didn't have that...

'I hope one day we'll be together again.' Hello!??! is that even a right thing to say? It's like saying 'I'm enjoying being alive right now with my husband and kid, but once i'm dead i'm gonna be looking for you and we'll be together for eternity.' ?

WOW WOW WOW!! Danielle Jamie has done it again! I fell in love with Brittan in the first few pages and couldn't wait for her life with Cane to begin! Danielle then broke my heart in a thousand pieces! Did not see that coming. My faith in love and stability in relationships has been restored 100%! I can't wait to hear more about Brittan and her life and future with Jordon. The love scenes were not only hot, but heartfelt. Melted my socks off!! Two thumbs way, way up!!

You will need multiple boxes of tissues to read Danielle Jamie's book Tempt My Heart to wipe away the tears of sadness, grief, heartache and joy that are written so eloquently, you can actually feel them in your soul through each page that you turn. Even through my ugly crying while reading this book, it was without a doubt a 5 star read for me and I would urge everyone to one-click this amazing story immediately.

"How does one accept the fact that she has to live the rest of her life without her soul mate?"

Brittan was a girl who had it all, she met the love of her life at 16 years old on the beach on Fourth Of July while watching the annual fireworks display. Although a few years older, Cane was everything that you could want in a guy, kind, caring, atheltic, & ambitious. They fell in love and made plans for the future, which included attending the University of Miami together, graduating and starting a family. Genuinely happy to be in each other's company, Brittan and Cane were the picture perfect couple. Brittan thought her life was perfect, until that fateful September day when a terrorist attack on New York changed the world forever. Cane abandoned every plan that they had made together a few years later in order to do what he thought was his calling, to serve his country in the war on terror. Although Brittan was saddened that they wouldn't be together in college and that she would have to go months without having Cane by her side, she supported his decision and waited patiently until he came home from boot camp. Together again, Brittan seemed to be back on track with Cane home from his training, that is until his first deployment overseas. Being the strong woman in love that she was, she worked to survive his year away from her and was rewarded by Cane's love when he proposed to her in one of the most romantic scenes I have read in a long time, on the very spot where they first met with the most perfect ring. Brittan had everything she had ever dreamed of. Until Cane was deployed a second time. Focusing on her studies and singing with a new band, she patiently waited for Cane to return from Iraq. And then the unthinkable happens, Brittan comes home with her best friend Roxie to find two military officers standing at her front door. Deep down she knew why they were there, her entire world collapsed around her and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Brittan struggled to move on from losing Cane forever, but she was spiraling into a sea of grief and heartache, until she decided to follow Cane's wishes and her dream of becoming a famous singer.

"My mother keeps telling me we all have a time to go. We may not understand it all, but God always has a plan. We just need to wait, and the reasons why will come to us at some point. We just need to be patient."

Her band Beyond Redemption was famous, with number one hits on the charts and platinum records, however Brittan had hit rock bottom, when the pain of Cane became to much and her addiction to cocaine became too much to control and she almost overdosed. After a stint in rehab, she is determined to make Cane proud, and do well on her new tour so that everyone will know that she can overcome the demons that haunt her. And then she meets Jordan, the guitarist of the band that is opening for her on tour. The pull that she feels for Jordan is something she hasn't experienced since Cane, not once with any of the numerous one night stands she has had over the years. The guilt she usually feels after sex because she believes she is cheating on Cane isn't there after she sleeps with Jordan and she doesn't know how to deal with it. The attraction that they are both trying so hard to deny, comes to a head when Jordan tells her he is staying with her on her tour bus to ensure that the slip back to cocaine one night doesn't happen again. And so their relationship begins. What was meant to be casual eventually turns into anything but, and I was holding my breath, hoping that Brittan could let go of the love that she had for Cane to make room in her heart for someone else. Letting go of Cane, doesn't mean that she had to stop loving him, she just needed to realize that she could actually have two soul mates in her lifetime. When she finally gives in and decides to try, the love that they have for each other only grows with time, and the way that they support each other through anything, brings tears of happiness to the readers eyes. Brittan deserved to be happy and Jordan was perfect for her. To see the life that Brittan makes for herself in the future brought happy tears to my eyes, because her story came full circle and she realized who she was without Cane, that she was strong, talented, and deserved to love and be loved again. You NEED to read this book!!!

"I can't help but thank Cane each and every day we have had together for bringing you into my life. Without his ultimate sacrifice for our country, our lives would've crossed paths. So for that I'm grateful to him, and I'm grateful to you for showing me what the meaning of true love is. I feel it every time you walk into a room, or when you grace my lips with a sweet kiss. My love for you sees no end."

J&G : ✯✯✯✯1/2 stars

‘This isn’t how our story was supposed to end.'

Gitte: We’ve had this one on our kindles for a while haven’t we Jenny and what a shame because Tempt My Heart rocked, pun totally intended. This rock star story turned out to be not only uber cool and sexy; it was so very emotional too, I was in tears crying my eyes out a few times as my heart broke and soared respectively.

‘I’m holding on to the hope that maybe, if I don’t fall asleep, tomorrow won’t come.’

I absolutely LOVED every single character; Jordon with his pure unconditional love wrapped in a wicked rock star persona as well as bloody awesome Brittan who literally rocked whilst overcoming tragedy and subsequent addiction.

“You’re like a song that no matter how hard I try I can’t get out of my head.”

This story examines true love of the soul mate variety, it’s raw and kind of ugly whilst being beautiful and sentimental at the same time. Tempt My heart is a rock star book that stands out as having originality, in my opinion. Do you agree, Jenny?

Jenny: I absolutely do Gitte and I’m so glad we finally picked this one up! It certainly hit the spot. I loved that it put my heart through its paces but it also gave me that ‘rock star’ vibe I crave. I’m in my element when a book gives me a feeling of being there in the rock star world with the characters, as though I’m on stage feeling their adrenaline, feeling the rush of the crowd and Danielle Jamie certainly captured the essence of that in her story.

‘Seeing people on stage and performing sparks something in me; all I want to do is jump up on stage and join in. I live and breathe music.’

I experienced all the romance, passion, heat and sadness in Tempt My Heart and felt Brittan’s loss, pain and struggles with addiction. I reveled in her second chance at love yet could always feel the underlying niggle of want inside her for her next high as she was caught between wanting to hold on to her memories and yet needing to move on from them.

‘Now that I’m sober, I feel every ounce of sadness and pain.’

Gitte: I do have to admit that I did struggle in the beginning as I thought the flash backs were a bit on the choppy side and it didn’t have a natural flow. However, I soon became so absorbed in the story it no longer bothered me and I understood why I was denied a strong emotional connection with Cane.

“Because I don’t have you…” ‘The sadness is unbearable…all consuming.’

It soon became apparent that I was meant to love what came after and kudos to Danielle Jamie here because my heart broke but she slowly and surely pieced it back together through the loving care of her characters and her fabulous writing with an epilogue that completely left me satisfied. I recovered right alongside Brittan and Jordon. I have to say what a refreshing character Jordon was; a hot rock star who had no hang ups but instead had a heart of pure fucking gold with fabulously talented strumming fingers hahaha!

‘Music washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.’

Tempt My Heart packed a punch in the emotional stakes with the added bonus of proper ‘rock star goose bumps’ inducing moments! Really enjoyed this one, Jenny!

Jenny: Yes, I struggled a bit at the start too G, but like you I soon came to understand the subtlety in which the author evoked our feelings for Cane. She had me feeling the soul mate connection between Brittan and Cane, yet left room in my heart for the immense feelings I would experience for Jordan and I loved that she left it up to me to decide, rather than forcing my hand.

‘I’m slowly finding the girl I once was. I’m also striving to be better than the younger version of myself.’

Jordon Valentine. Swoooon! He was divine and yes G! That was one of the things I particularly loved about Jordon. He didn’t come with a suitcase full of issues. He was simply a gorgeous rock star who enjoyed the the ladies before losing his heart to Brittan! Boy did I love him! Oh and those fingers….I’ll never be able to listen to Lite ‘Em Up again without blushing lol

‘My true moments of happiness are when it’s just her and me, blending into one as our bodies connect on a level I’ve never experienced with anyone else.’

I’m a ‘show me, don’t tell me‘ reader and I would have like a little more dialogue throughout but this didn’t impact my overall enjoyment of Tempt My Heart. And that epilogue! Loved it and thought it rounded the read off perfectly. Yep, this was a winner!

5 SMOOCHES AND THEN SOME !!!!!!

I’m going to start by saying OMG OMG OMG AND HOLY MOLY AND WOW !!!

I loved this book. LOVED LOVED LOVED

Can you say book hangover??!!

This is a story about Brittan, a young girl who meets her soul mate Cane, at a very young age. They fall in love. They are beautiful together! Cane loves her like no man could ever love his woman and Brittan loves him the same. The emotion behind it is overwhelming. Then tragedy strikes. I can honestly say, I really do NOT cry over books … sure I feel but they really do not bring me to actual tears. It’s just not me. Doesn’t mean I don’t love my books, just isn’t in my DNA, I guess, to be a cryer. I’ve only cried actually tears over a book maybe 2 or 3 times. Well, Danielle Jamie has wrecked me. WRECKED ME !!! I still cry when I think of the tragedy scene. It was so well written and so emotional and heartfelt.

In walks Jordon Finger F**king Valentine. All rocker, bad boy, tattooed hottie. Can you say yum?! Yeah well Brittan thought so too. But She isn’t over her loss and may never be. But the attraction between the two is undeniable. And what starts out as a hook up, becomes just a little bit more, and then a little bit more. Brittan tries to deny it but it’s really not something deniable. And as the reader, you can feel her turmoil, you can feel his nervousness because he wants her so badly for more than just a random hook up but he’s afraid to push her and lose her forever. Danielle Jamie gave me that in my heart. I felt what the characters felt. The story was so well written and so heartfelt that I don’t know how I’m going to get over it and move on to my next reading victim.

I felt every stage of pain Brittan went through with her loss, and how she fought through after 8 years of struggling and trying to forget, and found her way to Jordon, with a little help from Cane.

The grammar was good and I know first hand, typing errors is first and foremost on the authors mind and she reads and re-reads to be sure she is giving the fans the best reading material she can.

I don’t know how to express how sad, happy, and emotionally charged this story made me. For me, it was just an unbelievably fabulous read !!

I give this book a billion smooches and absolutely recommend reading it.

I really love this book, loved the way it was written! Brittan went threw so much and hit rock bottom but I'm glad she got the ending she always wanted xx

Falling for a Rockstar
is a dangerous game

Tempt My Heart was such an amazing story! It is definitely a 5 star read..if I could give it more than five I would in a heartbeat. Ladies get your tissues out and ready because your going to need them! I literally cried for the first 30% of the book and some points it was an ugly sobbing crying. I absolutely love a book that can bring this kind of emotion out in me. Honestly it may be fiction but damn if it didn't feel like I was living the story. I have to say the funeral scene was probably one of the most outrageously amazing scenes I have read in a book in a very long time. This is not a spoiler you will find out just by reading the synopsis that Cane dies and even though you know its coming man oh man you will still feel like your heart has been ripped out! This story will take you from sobbing and emotional to sweltering hot panty melting sex. Yes ladies you are in for a quite a ride with this story and I personally wouldn't want it any other way. This is not the first book that I read by Danielle and it most definitely won't be the last. Just FYI I still love Kayden Knox from her Savannah series.. if you haven't read that one either you most definitely need to get it now as well! This story is told in dual POV's of Jordon and Brittan. It does eventually give you and HEA so yes I am thankful for that.

Brittan grew up with music as her passion and she never thought she would make it to the big show but she was determined to get there and with her soul mate and love of her life Cane by her side nothing would stop her. When Cane enlists in the military after 911 her dreams are flushed down the toilet. They were supposed to go to college together.. get married.. have an amazing rock star career.. have kids.. ya know how it should be... but when tragedy strikes will Brittan be able to pick up her pieces of her life??

No one can make me feel what Cane did. No one can make my heart come back to life. It withered and died eight years ago today, and since then it's felt like there's nothing there, but a hollow hole in my chest where my heart used to be.--Brittan

She becomes a different person but realizes Cane would want her to chase her dream even if he isn't there for her physically. She gets the job of her dreams as a rock star.. but even though her dreams have come true her life will spiral again and she will turn to drugs/alcohol/mindless sex anything to block out the internal battle of heart break. When her label makes her go to rehab and get her life together will she finally be able to get her pieces of her life back that she has been missing for years... maybe possibly love again? Can someone honestly have 2 soul mates in a life time?
What happens when she meets Jordon a fellow rock star that is on tour with her ...can he make her feel again... or is it just for a good time?

I can feel Jordon behind me and its causing my entire body to flush, as the alcohol mixing with my hunger for him consumes my body. My head is telling me to leave the club alone, but my vagina is screaming at me to let it have a go with that very nice sized cock he has tucked away in his jeans that was teasing me on the dance floor.-- Brittan

Jordon is a musician starting out in the rock star world and yes he is a play boy and he always gets what he wants. He is finally going on tour with an amazing band, and it helps that there lead singer is one of the hottest females he has ever laid eyes on.... when he finds himself in a night club celebrating the news of joining the tour with this amazing band he will find himself getting more than he bargained for.

I slide up behind her, thankful no other asshole has swooped in to dance with her. Now, I just hope she ain't no fucking paper bag chick. You know the ones; hot ass body, with a 'make you want to throw a paper bag over her face because she so fucking ugly.'
I'ts Brittan-fucking Mckenna.
I know her whole no fraternizing with the guys she works with rule, so I pray to God she doesn't recognize me because right now, I am definitely putting 'banging Brittan' at the top of my, who to do list for this evening.-- Jordon

When things between the two start to steam up can either one of them hold back? Can they resist eachother? Or is this just another way for Brittan to block out her memories and loose herself in the moment. Or can Jordon Tempt her Heart?

Oh yeah, baby. You may think you're the Queen of Cock Tease, but I'm the King of Pussy and before this tour is over, I'll have you wrapped around my cock again, begging me to never stop. -- Jordon

You all have got to pick up this book.. Thank you Danielle Jamie for another amazing story and I look forward to soooo much more in the future!

I was gifted this book through the Crazy Daisy Book Whore blog on Facebook.

Let me start by saying when I read the blurb and snippets of reviews about crying and such I thought for sure i wouldn't be one of those...well I was WRONG! I bawled my eyes out. This is a powerful story and easily relatable because I remember my own emotions during 9/11 and after. I felt very connected to Brittan and Cane from the beginning. I love that this book starts out going over the past that Brittan shared with Cane. it really helped you connect with her character and feel the love of their relationship. You have to really connect with that part of the story to be able to connect with the rest of the story.

When the book starts Brittan is in rehab and reflecting on her past when she was 15 and just met Cane and from then on their relationship grew to epic proportions for being so young. You can feel their love and chemistry but also their respect and acceptance of each others lives. I love that we get their entire story before the rest of the story takes place. It made the story more enjoyable because I was never waiting to know what happened before that made her the way she is. By having the first part of the book about the past you were able to feel her emotions and understand her character all the better.

The book switches to present day and Brittan has now gone through rehab and is sober and fixing to try living her a life that would make Cane, her friends and family proud of her. What she didn't plan on was dancing with a sexy stranger who all of sudden evokes strong feelings from her that will eventually change her life. This is where another awesome surprise comes in for me...the dual POV.

Jordon Valentine guitarist for newly discovered rock band who knows he is a sexy rock god and has the skills to back it up. We first meet him in the tour kick off celebration when him and Brittan share one sexy as hell dance (maybe more but you have to read to find out). I could tell that these two have some explosive sexual chemistry and I just couldn't wait to see how it all played out.

Of course Brittan is has a triple reinforced wall built around her heart to avoid any more pain that can come of losing love, but she just can not get Jordon Valentine out of her head. She isn't used to having thoughts of a man beyond quick hot sex and she starts to struggle with her feelings toward Jordon and her feelings for Cane. This is where I really love this authors writing style, because unlike most authors she doesn't make you spend more that half the book being pissed off at the two characters for tap dancing around each other. She makes them real and honest. She makes them communicate and open up to the possibilities of their budding relationship. I will admit I spent a good part waiting for the other shoe to drop and the big blow up to take place where they leave each other only to come crawling back a few pages later...but alas I was WRONG again. and that is a really good thing.

I love this book. It is emotional, edgy and erotic when it needs to be. It is sweet and loving. It is fun and entertaining.
Happy reading!!!

Tempt My Heart is a standalone romance novel by Danielle Jamie. This is a heartbreaking story about a girl named Brittan. This story spans several years. In the beginning, Brittan meets a sweet boy named Cane and falls in love. They eventually get engaged and plan their lives together. Everything is perfect. After 9/11 happens, Cane feels that it is his duty to enlist in the military and fight for his country. This decision ends up costing him his life, and Brittan's life spirals out of control. I'll admit that the first ¼ of this book is very hard to read. It's very sad and emotional. The author does a tremendous job at making you feel Brittan's emotions about losing the love of her life. I even had tears in my eyes and I'm not a crier.

About ¼ of the way into the book, we finally meet Jordan. It's been 8 years since Cane's death, and Brittan is still having trouble dealing with it. At this point in her life, Brittan has a very successful career with her band. They are getting ready to start a new tour, and Brittan meets Jordan – the guitarist for the band that will be their opening act. I just have to say that I hate the way these two meet. I don't really understand why Brittan is the way she is. I mean, I understand that she doesn't want another relationship because she feels like she would be cheating on Cane – but yet she sleeps around with everyone! She is constantly having one night stands and then feeling guilty about it afterward – but she continues to do so. When Brittan and Jordan first meet, it's only minutes until his hand is in her panties. Personally, I like a little build up before characters get to that point.

Brittan tries to keep Jordan away after their first hookup, but he is determined not to stay away. No matter how hard Brittan tries, she can't resist him. She really struggles with her feeling for him, because she feels like she shouldn't be having feelings for any other man. Jordan is really sweet and patient with her. He knows her history and is really understanding. You would think that he would feel like he was constantly living behind Cane's shadow, but it's not like that at all. He understands that Cane's memories will always be part of Brittan's life. She even still wears Cane's ring, but Jordan doesn't seem to mind.

This book has a good message to it – it's possible to have 2 soul-mates in one lifetime. I'm sure this is a hard concept for people to believe when they are grieving, and I hope I never have to deal with this issue. I did feel like there was something missing during the second half of the book. I guess since Brittan and Jordan's relationship started out sexual, there was nothing to look forward to and it took the excitement out of seeing their relationship build. Overall though, it's a good book. There are some very steamy parts so I don't recommend it to those who are squeamish about sex scenes.

Tempt My Heart by Danielle Jamie is one of those books that will grab at your heart strings and keep pulling until the very last word. It is an emotional book about loss, grief, and coming back from the darkness. Be sure to have a box of tissues at your side when you begin to read this book.

Brittan McKenna, the chartbuster rock star, would seem like she has it all until she is committed to rehab for her drug addictions and self destructive behaviors. Her life journey has lead her to this point. She has experienced a once in a lifetime love, she has lost her soulmate, and she has lost herself. Her struggles to go on are a minute by minute battle. She is at the top of her career and about to embark on a new tour. Her record company and management have lost their faith in her ability to carry through. They force her into rehab to get herself together and get back in the game. Talent can only carry her so far.

During her treatment in rehab the reader finds what has lead Brittan to hit rock bottom. Brittan met the love of her life at the age of fifteen. She and Cane grew together and had an amazing relationship for over eight years. When tragedy strikes, Brittan has lost more than the love of her life. She has lost herself.

She turns to music to get her through the loss. Eventually the music isn’t enough. She can’t let go of the past, she can’t move forward in life, and the only relief she can get from the pain is drugs.

Once she is clean and sober she has to face the past. She has to find a way to let it go and move forward in life. She has come to the realization that Cane would not want her living her life in pain and loneliness. He would want her to be happy and loved.

When Brittan meets the lead guitarist of Tempting Tomorrow, the opening band on her upcoming tour, her world begins to change. She is once again experiencing feelings she thought she had buried along with Cane. She will have to learn to overcome her feelings of guilt and betrayal in order to have a real relationship. She will have to learn to open her heart. Jordan Valentine has the key to her future and happiness. He will take care of her heart and cherish it always.

This is an emotional journey that will bring you to tears and then have you rejoicing in life. Brittan, Cane, and Jordan’s story is amazing. Brittan is a lucky woman to have the love and dedication twice in one lifetime.

This book was well written. Danielle Jamie created characters that pulled at your heart strings. Their story is moving and emotional. Danielle also portrayed the honest truths about loss and drug addiction. The entire book was a compelling read. I highly recommend this book.

***I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST OPINION***

Wow. This book is one emotional roller coaster that will have ultimately crying ugly tears one minute to blushing to wanting to cut a bitch because of their actions. I will warn you, the first 30% of this book is hard and emotional. I cried and cried and cried. And God, that letter... I had to take a few moments and step away because it was just too hard for me.

Brittain is a young girl who had the world at her feet. An amazing boyfriend turned fiance, high school, college, and is on her way to a promising singing career. After 9/11, her world starts to slowly change. Cane, her boyfriend, decides to enlist in the army in 2003, a couple of years after the horrific terrorist attack. Brittain is just starting college at this point. After a few years in the military and serving overseas, Cane is in a terrible accident and his life is taken away. Brittain is on the brink of her music career at this point and when this tragedy studies, she takes a serious downward spiral with alcohol and drugs. When she faces a choice in her life, get clean or lose her music career, she chooses the right path. As she is working on her sobriety and getting ready to go on tour, in walks sex on a stick Jordan. Jordan is an up and coming rock star and the opening act for Brittain's tour.

Jordan and Brittain had chemistry from their very first meeting and it was a very sexy one. You could feel the tension between these two and knew it was only a matter of time until one of them broke and gave in. Brittain is scared to open her heart to live again because she thinks she will never find another Cane. Jordan is a playboy who has a different girl every night and doesn't double dip. Can these two make it with our will past scars and reputations tear them apart?

I loved them together. Jordan was so strong for Brittain and was always her voice of reason. He didn't push her and gave her time to deal with her emotions so they could be in the same page. I loved how understanding he was with her and was her rock for everything. I study admired him for how he handled her friends with Cane and the support he gave her.

The epilogue was beautiful and it was so nice to see years into their lives and the lives of her and Cane's old friends. I love when authors do this because I'm always curious about what their futures look like.

This is a great read I highly recommend. I'm hoping this author continues this series with books for members of Jordan's band and Brittain's band!

*4.5 Emotionally Wrecking Stars*

I'm not going to lie, I read reviews and was torn about the past/present, not sure how I was going to like it. But it sounded interesting and thought it was worth a fair shot.

I'm SOOOOOOO glad I did. I really enjoyed this book!

The prologue is close to present date, as Brittan looks back at her past. So when the book picks up in the past you understand why. It does time jump to significant points in her life with Cane. We watch one sided as her first love develops and how her heart breaks with his death, mixed with the love in between. You do feel a slight disconnected from Cane, but he's not the main lead, so I understand that. I still took his death hard, you feel Brittan get absolutely destroyed.
The next part of the book is the present, years later and past the date of the prologue, where she's at a better place and trying to heal. Now enters Jordan. A one night stand turns into an odd friendship. But can it be more? Is Brittan at a point in her life where she can let another man into her heart? Or will the ghost of Cane be to much for these rock stars?

I love Brittan, I enjoyed watching her grow, make mistakes and struggle. She was relatable and someone I would want as a friend. Jordan was hot, sexy and the prefect rock god. The writing was wonderful and flowed flawlessly in my opinion. I loved that this story wasn't about finding love, but stupid groupies or whatever gets in the way.

Its a book about redemption, the pain of love lost, the struggle to survive it and the courage to try again.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book.

Brittan and Cane meet on the 4th of July and instantly fall in love. They have a love for each other that you can not help but become emotionally attached to them. When Cane decides yo drop out of college and inlist in the military their world will change forever. Cane completes one tour over seas and comes home to Brittan to start there life together. Just when you think they are going to have their happily ever after tragedy strikes. Then there is Jordan with his cocky attitude and piercing blue eyes. ** JODIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW **

“God can be merciless. We pray when we need to feel love, wisdom, and hope, but then God can also rip your world from under you when you least expect it. Leaving you feeling lost, defeated and unloved.”

And I am crying again!! Mother Hell, the moment I read the words in the blurb “This book will emotionally wreck you!! Do not read at work or in a crowd of people unless you’re okay with them watching you ugly cry.” I knew I was in for it with this book, what I didn’t expect was to be up all night crying my eyes out to the point I was leaving facebook statuses tagging Danielle. Those happen to also be the moments where I needed to take a moment to let my kindle dry out because it was covered in tissue and tears. This story is beyond gripping, it is one that literally could be the story of anyone who lost their love one due to 9/11. It is a topic that so many were affected by and one that changed so many lives forever. I think that’s what made Brittan so real to me, her heartache and her struggle to continue living was real. It’s something you can feel and something we know so many people go through every day when their love one enters the armed forces and fights for our freedom.

“I want to be angry. Past fucking angry . . .Livid! I don’t want to hear about bigger plans, and when it’s your time, it’s your time. Fuck God’s bigger plan. What about my plans.”

Even though Cane was just in the beginning of the book, I was attached to him. I knew how strong their love for each other was. Just with the short glimpse it was still one of the strongest love stories. It was that first love, love story. I could instantly understand how difficult it was to lose a love like, to let a love that go is never easy and to expect someone to move on after your heart has been completely given, it doesn’t seem possible. Honestly, to read Brittan’s heartache after Cane is gone, that’s what killed me.

“I don’t want to fall in love with anyone else, ever. He was my soul mate; he owned my heart completely and when he died my heart died with him.”

Then

“I’m afraid that if I allow myself to love again, I’ll forget about you.”

But we are then moved to 8 years later where Brittan is living her life the way Cane asked her to as a last request. She is now a rock star and is scheduled to go on tour. Enter in, Jordan Valentine aka Mr. Sexy-as-sin-with-fuck-me-blue-eyes. He is the lead guitarist for her opening band, he is also the first man to make her feel something since Cane. Right away these two have sparks flying but Jordan can tell that Brittan is struggling with something and wants nothing more than to be there for her and to bring her back to life.

“Jordan is like a sledge hammer trying to smash down the walls I’ve built around my heart, but what he doesn’t know is they’re built of steel not brick….they’re indestructible.”

Brittan has her defenses up and she fights every feeling he makes her feel. But as time goes by those feelings become impossible to fight and she slowly starts letting herself feel again. She knows deep down that Cane would want her to love and to be loved again. I totally understood this struggle, I was having it myself for her, I wanted her to move on with Jordan but I also knew how much she loved Cane. I was all messed up right along with her.

“What are you doing to me Brittan McKenna?”

I let out a nervous laugh, “I don’t know… but I’d like to ask you the same thing.”

I loved the relationship that Brittan and Jordan formed. The way Jordan supported Brittan with her relationship with Cane was unlike anything I ever witnessed. He truly melts your heart in a way no book boyfriend ever has. But not only is this boy the sweetest thing he is beyond HOT!! Not lying the mouth and fingers on this boy gives new meaning to guitarist. I am a rock star whore and I always say I WILL TAKE THE DRUMMER but Jordan has me looking at guitarist in a whole new light.

“Oh yeah baby. You may think you’re the Queen of Cock Teases, but I’m the King of Pussy and before the tour is over, I’ll have you wrapped around my cock again, begging me to never stop.”

Ummmm he had me begging and he also gave new meaning to …

“What’s your favorite song, baby?”

Let’s just say Fall Out Boys, Lite’ Em Up will never be heard the same and …

“I now know why guitarist get so much pussy…they can finger fuck you into tomorrow.”

So ya that happened and I will just leave you right there thinking about that! I loved this book, I cried reading this book, I laughed and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a little rock star shake up. Danielle Jamie is slowly becoming a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!!

Recieved an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
The first half of this book made me cry like full out ugly girl cry! I hate/love danielle for that. You will definitely need tissue even have many moments that will just tear your heart apart and just ask why did that have to happen?
I really felt a connection towards Cane must be the uniform. I really just wanted him to live even though i already knew he wasn't going to i was even having moments where i screamed at my kindle. My husband is a marine & cane did a lot of things that my husband would do that would just make me stop reading and stare at him like is this fo real.
From the moment Brittan met Cane she was head over heels. who wouldn't be? Who also wouldn't want to meet a HOT guy in highschool while watching fireworks talk about most romantic meeting ever! Everything was falling in place for Brittan and Cane until 9/11 hit and Cane feels he needs to sacrifice his college degree and enlist to be a ultimate hero. And it dosen't hurt that he is going to get more bulit who dosen't like that.
Cane's first deployment came and gone which is always the hardest with not knowing what to expect actually brought Brittan and Cane closer than ever. They were living the perfect love story engaged to marry the following year. With Cane gone on yet another deployment Brittan copes by planning their wedding and through singing. Until, that fateful January day her whole world falls to pieces.
Fast Forward eight years that Cane has died and Brittan id drowning herself in drugs and music not even caring about life anymore. Random hook-ups just to not have to feel love for someone again.
Enter the sexy musican Jordan Valentine who was supposed to be nothing but a hook-up turned out to make her face reality and to love again. Jordan has some bitchy ass baggage that makes you want to beat the shit out of. Jordan took me a while to warm up to, in fact I hated him in the beginning but how can you not love him even though he hooks up with those skanks. talk about disgusting. This is one story you don't want to miss what will happen to jordan and Brittan? Can she let another man into her heart or will she be closed off and push Jordan away forever?

Some favorite Quotes:
~"He Smiles down at me and I instantly melt.'Crap, looks like I missed them? At least I made it in time for the finale."
~I couldn't agree more, the finale is my favorite too. Giving me a wink he extends his hand towards me. I'm Cane."
~Shaking his head he whips his shaggy, dirty blonde hair side to side, beads of water splatter all over me. 'Bout time you got your hot ass into the pool. I was about two seconds away from grabbing you, and tossing you in'. He says playfully while brushing my wet hair off of my face with the pad of his thumb."
~" Thank you, at least someone believes me'. I let out a stream of giggles as Cane tickles my side. He places hot kisses on my cool neck, igniting a fire inside of me. We finally had sex for the first time a few months ago. Ever since taking the next step; connecting body and soul, all I want to do is pounce on him."
~"The feeling of Cane's Lips on my shoulder brings me back to here and now. 'Please stop thinking about tomorrow, Brittan. We have one more night together. I want to spend it with all of you. Not just a fraction of you."
~"I Love You more, Brittan'. He always says that, Every time I tell him I love him, he always says 'I love you more'. It instantly gives me butterflies."
~"Brittan Nicole McKenna; Four years ago I met the most beautiful, funny, and charismatic woman right here in this very spot. After four years of calling you my girlfriend. I now want to be able to call you my fiancé and then my wife. You are my best friend, my rock; you've stayed by my side through everything and supported every decision I've made, even if it wasn't the one you wanted me to make. I want to spend every day for the rest of my life, falling more deeply and madly in love with you. Please say you will be my wife?"
~"A Few moments later, I see hope at the end of my dark tunnel in the form of Cane's baby blues. I scream with excitement and break into a full on run towards him. Dropping his bags, he reaches out and catches me as I jump into his arms. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I flutter kisses all over his face and lips wanting to savor this moment that I've waited tweleve long months for."

***** I Love Story Time was gifted an ARC copy in exchange of an honest review *****

4.5 Stars!!!

In the blurb it states...."This book will emotionally wreck you!! Do not read at work or in a crowd of people unless you're okay with them watching you ugly cry. Well...I didn't listen, and what did I do? I read at work and cried!! There were so many times that I had to put my kindle down to catch myself from having a full blown ugly cry. Then once I picked it back up and continued reading, I had to put it back down again! This book, and books like this, always get to me. I just can't take it anymore! I need to stick to happy books! Haha, ya right! This story was so good. The heartache that Brittan went through and the struggles she faced trying to move on were heart breaking. I know this book is not true but the topic is one that I'm sure many people go through.

Even though Cane was not in the book for a very long time, I can feel how important they were to one another. The moments that they shared were so cute. The things he told her were so sweet. The love they shared was so strong. I can only imagine how tough it was for Brittan to lose her first love. I can also understand how difficult it could be for her to move forward. The talks she had with Cane after he passed made me ball, totally ugly cry moments.....

"I'm afraid that if I allow myself to love again, I'll forget about you."

8 years later Brittan is living her dreams the way Cane asked her to as a last request, and is now the lead singer in one of the top Rock and Roll bands. She is scheduled to go on tour and the last thing she expected was to come across Jordan Valentine, the lead guitarist for her opening band. For 8 years Brittan hasn't felt her heart flutter until now. Since Cane, Jordan is the only person that has got her to feel any emotion other then sadness. Right away, Jordan can tell that Brittan is struggling with something and wants nothing more then to be there for her, and to help her get to a better place....

"To me, Brittan, you are the most captivating women I've ever met. The second I saw you dancing tonight; I couldn't take my eyes off you, no matter how hard I tried. You don't see it, but you are beautiful and worth someone taking the time to see the real you. Not the facade you put on for the outside world."

At first, Brittan does what she can to keep Jordan at a distance and fights the way he makes her feel. As time goes by it gets harder for her to hold her feelings back and eventually she starts letting herself feel with out any guilt. Brittan knows deep down that Cane would want her to love and to be loved again. So she finally admits that she wants more with Jordan.

Their relationship is really cute. The way they are with each other and the way they support each other is special. I loved Jordan. He seriously is the nicest guy and the support he gives Brittan when it comes to Cane is unreal. He is not only sweet, but he is...sexy-as-sin-with-fuck-me-blue-eyes and a dirty mouth! Which, I always love! I just want him to ask me.....

"Favorite song, baby?"

HaHaHa.. love it!

Seriously a great book! Loved how it showed parts of Brittan and Canes lives, plus the outcome of Brittan and Jordan's life together. Loved that Brittan was finally able to let her self be loved again and how the Fourth of July came around full circle! I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a good emotional read with a little edge to it. Looking forward to reading more books by Danielle Jamie! So for now, all I can say is......

..."I'll see you soon."

WOW......what a GREAT read this was. Five words for you..........Jordon MAGICAL FINGER-FUCKING Valentine. What a man!!

Hang on, PUMP THE BRAKES, I'm getting ahead of myself here.......let's start at the very beginning.

Brittan McKenna is your average teenager living a carefree, easy life. During 4th July celebrations one year she meets a gorgeous young man named Cane and it is instant chemistry between the two. Over the next couple of years their relationship grows as their life moves on and they start to plan their future together. Then 9/11 happens and that day changes everything for them. Cane becomes determined to fight for his country.

So, I'm sure you can guess where this is headed and let me tell you......get your tissues ready. I UGLY CRIED for chapters, not just one or two scenes. My emotions were completely shredded and it left me raw. For years after Cane's death Brittan feels like she buried her heart the day she buried him and is living a very lonely and numb life. Her only outlet is her music and her band, Beyond Redemption. After hitting rock bottom Brittan decides to clean her act up and focus on her upcoming tour.

Enter Jordon Valentine, the lead guitarist of Tempting Tomorrow the opening act on Brittan's tour. Jordon with his typical arrogant rock star attitude assumes the sexy woman he spots letting go on the dance floor will fall at his feet.....no such luck!! When the sparks between the two fly and he realises who it is he is dancing with (and using his magical fingers on) he is determined to make her HIS!!

Brittan is sure you only get one love, one soulmate in this life and feels like she already had that so why risk a broken heart again. Only thing is Jordon makes her feel things she hasn't felt in many years. Will Brittan give herself the chance to fall in love again? Will this gorgeous, cocky rock star stick around long enough to find out? I guess you will have to read it to find out.

My one and only minor, minor gripe was at points I felt it was just a little too cheesy and some emotions were over emphasised. I did however love the dual POV in this book. I always enjoy getting both sides of the story as I think it helps you to connect better with the book and the characters. What I also enjoyed was once we got past the death of Cane (which was gut wrenching!!) the slow development of Brittan and Jordon's relationship was realistic. There was no, BANG...love at first sight type of thing. It was a slow, realistic build up. I was glad too that Ms Jamie didn't try to pack the book with more big moments. Most books you get to 70% and some catastrophe occurs. While there is definitely a hitch at that point in this book it's not a major WTF moment. It was nice for a change that the BIG moment for this book happened early on.

Here's another five words for you - GUT WRENCHING, SEXY, HOPEFUL, PERFECTION.

Melanie's 3.5 Star Review:

I was warned upfront about this book being a total tear jerker and since I am a known literary masochist, I dove right in—box of tissues beside me, husband and child tucked safely into bed, and my psyche prepped and ready for an emotional sledgehammer to destroy me.

Danielle Jamie's Tempt My Heart definitely did that. She was not at all shy about pouring in the gut wrenching scenes like gasoline to an already high burning fire. I really was not a pretty sight to behold during the first half of this book. I loved that the author dedicated so much of this book towards Cane and Brittan; I was invested in their love for each other which really made me understand the loss that Brittan dealt with well throughout the book. I also thought it was great that the author took me back to the very beginning of their relationship; it showed a wonderful progression from “puppy love” to the ultimate “love of a lifetime” and so you can only imagine what heartache I felt for Brittan and for Cane. Though there is never a right time for death to come knocking on anyone’s door, there are those that are just a complete tragedy. Cane’s heroic death is one of those. Somehow losing someone whose whole life is still ahead of them becomes harder to accept and even more so, how unrelenting and unconditional Cane’s love was for Brittan even in death. This was blatantly clear in Tempt My Heart and was executed so heartbreakingly well.

So when the sexy, bad boy rockstar by the name of Jordon swaggers into Brittan’s life, I also came to life. The sparks between these two were there from the minute Jordon sets his eyes on Brittan. I will never look at a guitarist strumming on those guitar strings the same way again (and if you want to know what I’m blubbering about, then you really do need to read this book). The swoon factor that surrounds Jordon is legit, he says all the right things, does the right things (especially with those fingers), and really just loves Brittan exactly as she deserves.

I have to admit that I did experience somewhat of a plateau while reading this book. The primary driving force in this book was the emotional sledgehammer of Cane’s death so when that subsided, I found that the plot was being stretched out without much purpose behind it. I was left bothered by some of Brittan’s decisions so I do wish that the momentum remained constant throughout.

The warning blurb to Tempt My Heart by Danielle Jamie does not deceit; it truly will leave you a crying fool, befuddled by the emotions that she drives straight to your heart. I look forward to this author’s future works as I can tell that her full writing potential is just waiting to burst through the seams.

This is my 5+ star review for Tempt My Heart by Danielle Jamie for Book Whores R Us book blog.

Tempt My Heart was absolutely amazing. Danielle Jamie can make you ugly cry, smile , laugh and feel all those tingly feeling when she writes those heavy and hot sex scenes.

Brittan had a good life, she was in college doing well and had the love of her life, Cane!
They were planning their future together and then 9/11 happened.

Things changed that day for Cane & Brittan. Cane wanted to join the armed services and go to war.
Fight for his country.
Fight for his woman.
But fighting for what he believed in and loved killed him and killed apart of Brittan in the mix.

For the next eight years she would wonder the earth; lost, broken and completely shattered. Stuck with her heart and thoughts in the past she refuses to move on with her future, not even her friends truly see her pain.

Then there is Jordan with his cocky attitude and piercing blue eyes. Jordan will have you hooked with his cocky smile and fingers to die for. Jordan is the guitarist for Tempting Tomorrow which is opening for Brittan's band Beyond Redemption. oh let me say that Jordan is an on the rise sex on a stick rock god playboy. He loves women and lots of them. Everything changes when he meets Brittan and can see the sorrow and despair she's hiding from everyone with her seemingly perfect life.

Brittan and Jordan both try to deny the chemistry they have for each other. It is there no doubt.. But how long can you really fight the inevitable?

Jordan and Brittan have a friends with benefits relationship, which soon turns into more, but they are going completely at Brittan’s pace. It’s amazing to read her open up to Jordan and let him into her life, she was so closed off that it makes all those around her extremely happy to see her happy and open. The relationship doesn’t go without its struggles, with ex’s making appearances and Brittan’s past coming back to the front quite a bit.

Danielle Jaime definitely has another hit on her hands and I look forward to reading everything she writes in the future.

Review for Tempt My heart by Danielle Jamie

I was give this Arc in exchange for a honest review

In the start of this book it starts of by 2 young Adult meeting at a forth of July fire
Works show. Brittan is there with her best friend Roxie when some hot young men
Come and sit next to them that’s when Brittan’s and Canes Story starts. They fall
Madly in love and they are truly Soul mates.

After 9/11 Happens Cane decided to drop out of Collage to join the marines to serve
his country.
This is when Brittan is forced to live through something now one should have to and that’s losing her soul mate.

Brittan has lost her way and cant seem to find her was out of the dark hole that have become her existence even though she has becoming the lead singing of a Rock and Roll band who are top charting she still cant get over losing the love of her life. That is till she hits rock bottom and goes into rehab.
Once she is Sober and starts touring again she meets Lead guitarist of her of her support band Jordon.

Jordon is a cocky self assured A typical Rock star but for some reason after having a taste of Brittan he can get enough. He is willing to change his slutty was for her even though she is trying her hardest not to give into temptation.

I don’t want to give too much more away of the story line cause I hate when people do that.

I loved this story it had me crying (sobbing) it had me heartbroken and it had me laughing and made me really feel the love in this story. I was so stuck In this book that I lost track of time while reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a HEA.
I haven’t read anything from this Author before but I will say I will be looking for her other novels I’m now a fan

Danielle Jamie is a new ish author I have read. I have read all the Savannah Series and they were amazing. This book Tempt My Heart has a few characters from the Savannah Series, I liked that way they interacted very briefly.

I loved this book. Its the type of book that not only grips you from the beginning, It grips you emotionally. From the beginning I was crying reading this book. Do not read this outside your own home,It's was that emotional. From the start you root for Brittan Mckenna. A girl who suffers heartache and tragedy like no one else. But they say those who suffer heartbreak become the strongest people, and this is so true in Britten.

Britten is a girl with a plan along with her boyfriend Cane, but 9/11 changes all that for the worst. Brit closes herself off for 8 whole years, during that time she goes through some pretty hard times, but the one thing she does is make it in the rock world singing. And there she meets Jordon Valentine.

This is a standalone book you need to read. This needs to be added to your "tbr" lists Now. But ladies make sure you have plenty of tissues. This book has two hot book boyfriends.

This book is Stunning in its entirety. From the pace and flow to the characters and the story. Danielle has written an amazingly stunning book. It characters dance around in your mind. The story playing out in your head like a movie. It's so clear and vivid. You effortlessly turn the pages until you realise you have finished.

I give this book 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

This book is one big roller coaster of emotions. Brittan and Cane had it all. They were perfect together. Then he dies in combat. I swear it felt like MY heart was ripped out of my chest. That was gut wrenching. I wanted to jump through my Kindle and hug Brittan. Then Brittan does something most female leads DON'T do in books like this, she falls off the deep end in the worst way possible.
Enter Jordan.
Jordan is what Brittan needs, but she thinks it's only for right that very second. Jordan scares her. They have an instant spark and she can't feel, she hasn't allowed herself to feel in 8 long years. It isn't fair to Cane. I loved that Jordan was real. He had moments where he was a total jerk, then again, Brittan was a total bitch. I loved Jordan. His patience, his kindness, the way he supports Brittan....*sigh* not to mention he is sexy as hell. That helps too.
When you read this book, have a box of tissues, your drink of preference and your best friend on speed dial to talk you down when the ugly cries get to be too much. And you WILL ugly cry, it's inevitable.
This second chance romance is one of the best I've read. It's got everything, sexy rock stars, hot sex, angst, drama, and emotion, emotion, emotion. I can't wait to get my hands on more of Danielle Jamie's work. If this is any indication of what I have to look forward to, she has a lifelong fan.

From the first moment Brittan touched Cane, she knew she had found her soulmate. Through high school and then off to university their relationship thrived and they started planning their dream wedding. But then their dream turned into a nightmare and everything changed.

Years later, Brittan has just finished a stint in rehab trying to break her dependency to drugs and return to the front of world renowned band Beyond Redemption for their world tour.

Enter supporting band Tempting Tomorrow and their lead guitarist, Jordan Valentine, and suddenly feelings start to arise in Brittan that she had long thought dead and buried with Cane, which then take her back to the brink of falling back into the hole she has just crawled out of.

Can Jordan help save Brittan, or is she truly beyond redemption?

Can you truly have 2 soulmates in your life if you lose the one you thought was forever?

I cried with Brittan in the hard times and cheered on Jordan with his enticing ways of making Brittan feel again. A wonderful love story about loving and losing and then trying to find a way to feel again without feeling guilt for the one you have lost.

A fantastic read!
