Sorry for the long review, but I loved these two, so I guess I’m not sorry, hope ya’ll enjoy it..the review and the book.

Let’s face it, it’s not a House of DaR book unless someone’s life is in peril. You would think everyone would know to not mess with humans and cross Commander DaR and his sons…but here we are. Sh*t was already real in the first chapter…actually make that the very first page. But there’s nothing I love more than a great escape. When she literally lands on HaL’s planet, I adore that she’s so relieved to see him, and it’s when he is in his Yeti form before she calms down and the relief hits, with all the emotions that come with that. She doesn’t have HaL’s ruins letting her know he was her mate, she just felt it. Ya’ll know SAGE is all kinds of on it to help create a space that she can live in comfortably in his world…because mates are a serious thing. And she does not plan on leaving hers…no matter what.

This is definitely one of my favorite couples in this series, you just can’t help but fall in love with them. I love that she always just embraces her new reality and the aliens within it. After their first meeting she became fascinated with him and his people, and started researching all the information she could find. She describes him as looking like a Viking god…and I totally agree..did ya’ll see this cover. No need to try and lick it..I already did and he’s mine. He’s definitely the calm to her and my storm. I loved all her pet names for him…so cute. He’s naturally calm and quiet, she just brings him out of his shell, and really is his bit of sunshine he needs.

She is quite the fighter for sure, we get to learn about her life on Earth and the huge struggle she went through just to live. Things we take for granted she couldn’t even do, and never got to experience. It was quite heartbreaking. Thankfully she had a family that was extremely close and supportive, which is how she came to be saved from Earth, her brother made his whole career trying to find a way to help her. All the love she received, I feel like she is just channeling that into her relationship with HaL. Her excitement over everything is infectious, add in her humor and she is a funny ray of sunshine, Oh, and apparently she is also the woolly mammoth whisperer, who knew…and yes, you definitely read that right…woolly mammoth whisperer. HaL is a quiet, sexy shy look-a-like Viking god yeti…yup…you gotta read these two. They absolutely gave me all the happy feels and filled my heart with so much warm joy for a sweet and well deserved hea. Next book please.

HaL and little Roja are so sweet

This is House of DaR book twenty one, so already you know that I am a fan. I just adore DaR, his sons, and their extended family. I enjoyed this story of HaL and his little Roja (aka Dawn, a human female). The artwork and the depiction of the characters and HaL’s planet are beautiful. HaL really looks like his father DaR but with the fur of his people.

This book picks us after book twenty featuring KyT and Vedece. HaL helped save his brother and others after the weather suddenly turned freezing on Rthra. Remember the evil Krogans attacked the new planet Ethra; the planet that DaR is trying to build on for the human survivors. The truth is that Ethra is an unknown place where the weather seems unpredictable.

Unfortunately the evil Krogans kidnapped Dawn. This was not known by Master HaL because he had left to return to his own planet a bit heartbroken. I cannot give any further insights about this story or it would reveal too much. There is a happy ending for HaL and Roja plus more in the next book. Read On!

HaL is protective and possessive, but never smothering; his intensity is balanced by a soft, caring side that make him easy to love. It was so sweet knowing he would do anything for Dawn. Life has thrown a lot at her, but instead of folding, she chooses to embrace being alive; she meets the bond with understanding rather than resistance. I enjoyed watching HaL and Dawn navigate the complications of their situation and his world while still finding moments of tenderness and humor along the way. The fun teasers about the upcoming Warrior Trials have definitely piqued my interest! Can't wait to see what happens next in the House of DaR series!

Long may the House of DaR continue!

I love all the books in the DaR series, always look forward to reading the next one and this didn’t disappoint. Only thing is I wish it was longer and pursued a bit more about Dawn and Tundra plus Troza maybe finding her mate. I love the style of writing and the way JJM combines both pain, heartache and humour - definitely my favourite series. Sooo, roll on the next one, gimme gimme gimme.

Dawn and HaL are awesome

The story is so engaging that it moves so smoothly. The visit from other sons and mates is great. Also SoL is going to be a daddy yeah.

The journey that Dawn and HaL go through is thought provoking and creative. Sage again comes to the rescue. Thank you for a terrific addition to the Darverius world.

Great

Another amazing book in the House of Dar series. It's so great to meet more of Dar's sons and learn about them as they find their mates and see how their mates change to become more compatible with them and how they adapt to their surroundings. Keep them coming. Jennifer Julie Miller is a goddess.

Disappointing

This is the, first book I have read in this series that I didn't enjoy. I did not care for Dawn at all. Her character was over the top and not believable. I didn't enjoy her interactions with HaL at all. She was not a developed character. HaL was handsome but "flat". The story and writing was not up to par.
