I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

I love talking to my readers so email me if you have any questions or even if you just want to chat...

One of my favorite things about this series is the fact that it can be read, and enjoyed, by both adults and teens. It is wonderful to be able to share a story with my daughter and not have to worry about the themes being too grown up. The character isn't too immature, but the situations aren't too much for a younger teen.

This story picks up where Blood and Gold ends, and we are quickly thrust back into the action. Maya is still learning to control her abilities, but the world isn't going to slow down and give her the time she thinks she needs. However, bending time might be the answer. Or, it could be the cause of more troubles.

The story telling is absolutely fantastic with this one. The pace is fast without feeling rushed, there is a lot of action, plenty of surprises, and the Hindu mythology makes this one stand apart from many other paranormal reads. I continue to be captivated by this fantastic tale and I can't wait for the next one.

Maya's troubles continue to grow, almost as fast as she discovers her other powers. Narakasura has taken control of Patala, so death is no longer happening. Those with mortal injuries continue to live, broken and bleeding in terrible pain. Maya knows she has to fix things, somehow. On top of that, Maya finds that her mom is more than she appears...
Full of action, twists, and demons (of course)!
I received a complimentary copy and freely give my honest review.

Ok, this is just a a “quickie” review. Unfortunately, I’m in in a hospital and asked my husband to post this since I don’t have the time to do better - even though the book definitely deserves it.

Bottom line: five stars. This was one wonderfully fun novel and definitely recommended. It had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Maya's abilities continue to grow - as does her budding relationship with Nick - in the third installment of the series.

The goddess Kali has granted Maya the ability to bend time, but when she makes use of her new ability after a mission goes wrong, she discovers that it confers with a price.

Quite a bit happens in the book, moving the overall story along at a nice pace. There are several surprises in store and it was nice to see her parents and Claudia being more involved in the action.

I liked that they was more than one mission in the book and that we learn more about some of the key players. It was also interesting to see Maya having to deal with the repercussions of using her expanded powers, and I really enjoy her gentle romance with Nick.

Wow! This has been one grand adventure so far. I can't even imagine what the final book will bring! I'm going to be really sad when this is over. I especially like how the author doesn't leave anything out in terms of the small things. There's not much in terms of cliffhangers left unsaid by the end of each book. Other than your overall arc. Fury & Virtue I can't wait!

Maya and Nik are growing in their relationship. I have no words. I’m wanting to say a few things that I shouldn’t. So I’ll let the book tell its own story.
I receive an advance reader copy.
