☆☆☆☆ shifter love
What a cute little shifter story.
While I prefer my shifters to only be with their mate, those stories seem to be as rare as a unicorn. That being said, our hero Holt was not portrayed as a manwhore and neither he, nor our heroine Chloe, were virgins.
-no cheating or ow/om drama whatsoever
-no pushing away
-laugh out loud moments
-no violence
-no epilogue which was disappointing

The Bottom Line (2.5 stars)
This is the first book in the series and it is very definition of insta-love. there's not alot going on except the hookup and some humor, but for a quick little smutty shifter read, it's ok.

Giggle time! Celia and Mina's fifth in the "Quick and Furry" series was just what I needed to snuggle into tonight. Giggles and grins with a side of yummy.
"Free therapy in exchange for the willingness to be included in a study. 'The Inherited Intricacies and Deficiencies of the Familial Mind.'" Yep. Chloe has one whack-a-doodle family - the kind that stalks you and breaks into your house when you aren't looking. . . well, mom is an oddball, but the brothers aren't so bad - just sorta, well, stalkerish and overprotective. But hey, things could be worse, right? Your mom could break into your house in the middle of the night to inform you she has set you up with the M&M Mating Agency, cause she really does want grandkids. Er, Grandcubs? Whatever.
Oh, yeah. That actually happened. (Facepalm)
What happens next had me giggling out loud. Well, and enjoying the hottie hotness that Celia and Mina are famous for. This is one cute entry into the Quick and Furry pantheon. If you haven't read them, why not? Funny, hot shorts sure to help you relax after a long day. So. Much. Fun!

Wanting a Mate is a short story by Mina Carter and Celia Kyle. I am a huge fan of Mina's short stories and I've enjoyed Celia's Ridgeville series so I was happy to see these two authors collaborate together to write a new series. In Wanting a Mate, cougar Holt joins a dating agency to meet his mate. Human Chloe joins too and at a mixer Chloe and Holt meet and then lots and lots of hotness ensues.
Yes this story is short, yes I want more, but I am completely satisfied with what I got because I happen to love quickies ;-) especially before starting my work day.

Wow this was very short but for some reason I didn't mind that. I usually prefer much more narrative and time to get to know the characters but this fun quick read was just the ticket! I'm starting to get used to the idea of books that are literary quickies! So if you want something to get you in the mood without trawling through angst or suspense then maybe this is the way to go.
Chloe has the most interfering family you could possibly imagine. No I'm not kidding! Meddling siblings, annoying mother and even apps on her phone designed to follow her every movement ! What's a girl to do? Well there is that dating agency that offers to find you a Mate even if you are not a shifter. So the very human Chloe is determined to check it out and hopefully once and for all get her family off her back.
Holt is a were cougar who everyone gives a very wide berth. Yep he's not exactly the most friendly shifter around but he and his inner beast have an itch that definitely needs scratching! When his brother sets him up with a dating agency in a meet and greet he's not exactly sold on the idea but what has he got to lose? Well maybe that's his freedom because just the scent of one luscious human female and Holt is firmly on the hunt!
This was a fun read and I'm still reeling from the outrageous behaviour of Chloe's mother! Dear lord what a nerve! Holt is not exactly shy and retiring so be prepared for strong language but that's probably part of his charm. Chloe I loved as she's so brave taking on such a big shifter and has absolute faith that he would never hurt her. Naive? Stupid? Some might think so but I liked her and with that family? Who could blame her for taking a chance and that leads me to say I'm so pleased I took a chance and got this book. Fun quick and a happy ending so I'm a very happy reader.

OMG!!! Wanting a Mate. Yes Please!!!
This book is deliciously funny and sexy as hell! This story follows Chloe as her stalker mom tries to find her a mate. Poor Chloe has had her share of losers when her psycho ( but loving ) mother decides to sign her up with a mating agency. Poor Holt wasn't even looking for a mate when his brother Archer decides to sign him up for a greet and mate. Will they find there happily ever after or will Chloe slip through Holt s fingers. Find out in this thrilling and exciting story. I loved this book Mina and Celia are two of my favorite authors and when you put those two together you get one sexy, hot, and funny story. I absolutely loved this book. I loved Chloe you can actually relate to her well if your family's a bit crazy like mine you can. Go get yourself a copy you won't regret it. I really hope they make another one maybe Archers story next or Donovan or Sawyer doesn't matter I'd love any.

This story is only made up of six chapters, but man, they are worth the read for sure. Normally, short stories are not my cup of tea, so I was pleasantly surprised with Wanting a Mate.
Holt is a cougar shifter and his cat has been wanting a mate. Which means that Holt has been irritable. When his brother talks him into going to the first annual Meet & Mate, he gives it a shot. That's where Chloe trips and end up against his chest. He knows instantly that she belongs to him.
This book is definitely worth the short amount of time it takes to read it. Recommended!

I love Celia Kyle. As always, this book has her unique (and hilarious) style of writing.
I know this is a "Quick & Furry" book and the price reflects that. I just love the stories so much that I wish they were longer and a little more in depth.

This book was way too short for my liking. It needed to be much longer and the story filled out more. There wasn't really the chance to get to know the characters or to see how their relationship develops after mating. I felt like it was just an introduction to their relationship that had the potential to be an enjoyable book if it had been more in-depth.

This is a great short story of a human woman who has bad luck in dating and a cougar shifter meeting at a dating agency's mixer. I really like that Holt was just as interested in finding a mate and this wasn't a womanizing man accidentally finding his mate.

Holt’s cougar is strong, too strong for many. And now it wants a mate which is making Holt difficult to be around. So what is a brother to do but sign him up with an online dating service. Maybe they will find someone the cougar accepts, now he just needs to let his brother know what he has done.
Dating has become a chore for Chloe and her crazy family isn’t helping the cause. So what’s one more losing proposition when she agrees to go to a meet and greet for an online dating service; much more than she ever expected when Holt catches her scent. In Wanting a Mate by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter, we see just how out of control one night can be. Neither Chloe nor Holt were expecting much but found more than they hoped. Question is could they accept what it means?
This story is a nice quick read. It is humorous and full of sexy times. I enjoyed Holt and Chloe separately I am just not sure if I bought them together. Their chemistry felt a bit forced. I think I missed learning about them individually before I could see them together. I mean why was Holt’s cougar so fierce? How could he have any type of relationship if everyone was afraid of him? If he was so scary how is it a simple human could look him in the eye when even his family had trouble? I struggled to believe that mating would be enough to overcome those issues. Especially as Chloe didn’t appear all that alpha on her own. I mean her mother kept better tabs on her than the FBI and she couldn’t control the boundaries she wanted from her family so how could she control this fierce predator? However, even with my questions and concerns, I did enjoy the premise. Ms. Kyle and Ms. Carter provided us with moments of humor and smoking hot sex. I think if the story was a bit longer I would have felt a better connection with the characters. Having said that if you are looking for a quick and sexy romp, then this story fits the bill.

Awww this was such a cute book. Its a super fast read, I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down.
I just love Celia Kyle & Mina Carter's work. They are a wonderful pair.
Holt's cat, that is his werecougar, is ready for a mate, ready to settle down and ready for cubs. He's on edge, he's grumpy and he's just not fun to be around. These are all signs that he is in desperate need of his mate. So whats a brother to do? sign him up with the new M&M mating agency of course. Holt's brother signs him up and Holt isn't too sure if its a good idea to be around so many shifters in a small space. But if it finds him his mate, he is willing to give it a try.
Chloe can't seem to get a break when it comes to finding the right man for her, she's just about ready to give up. SO what's a mother to do? you guessed it, her mother signs her up for the M&M Mating agency. Chloe decides she has nothing to lose, so why not.

The combination of Celia and Mina is just wow and stuffs. I've always loved them separately but together just an amazing team! To be able to write together and the story still flows no stuttering nothing, no hint that there is two writers. Very awesome
I come into this series on book 5, and let me tell you I didnt have a problem at all understanding the plot or the characters even not reading the ones before. (sad panda)
You will love the short hot smexiness of the storyline and the rawr factor of both characters. I'm starting to really enjoy the short stories I can read and finish in one sitting. Wanting a Mate, you can do that where a lot of short stories you can tell are missing something this one fills you up with a mix of detail, just enough character profile and mmmm some sexy time!
Its all about that mate... he didn't think he wanted one, for her... she's been in a dry spell as far as men, but nothing she or he couldn't fix or so they thought, in steps their oh so helpful family... I adore this little series. Each book is a yummy morsel of a story. This does not disappoint.
I was a touch lost on how this connects with the previous books, been a while since I read them. Lucky they are shortness, so I can jump back and re-read.
Holt is so very deliciously Alpha!! I just love guy who has th growl down! Chloe is a great balance for him. This is written gives u :) both their POV in alternating sections. Seamlessly with this book sky only complaint is that I wish it were longer. Yes, I know it was meant to be a quickie. There is just such a wealth of story that could still be told. The characters are fun and you want to know more about them. Chloe's mom was hilarious!!! I would love to see this expanded into a longer book or novella. That is what always happens with a well done story, you crave more!!
I adore this little series. Each book is a yummy morsel of a story. This does not disappoint.
I was a touch lost on how this connects with the previous books, been a while since I read them. Lucky they are shortness, so I can jump back and re-read.
Holt is so very deliciously Alpha!! I just love guy who has th growl down! Chloe is a great balance for him. This is written gives u :) both their POV in alternating sections. A quick, fun read
You will laugh with this little book! The characters are hilarious. The plot is easy to follow, but it is a little thin. There is some growly hot sexiness happening, which is wonderfully described. The scenes move smoothly and before you realize it, you'll be upset that it was over so soon!

Chloe whole family was a study in about dysfunctional family disorder known to man. Free therapy in the willingness to be included in the study. This is why she moved to Cannon Falls to get away from her family so they interfering and invasion of her privacy. Her mother wants her to go to the Meet & Mate party that the M&M Mating is having for human and shifters to find their mate.
Holt's brother Archer with their mothers approval signed him up for the Meet & Mate. Great so more people can keep their eyes on the ground rather than look at him. Holt and his brothers own Catson Construction and was currently contracted to frame out a new subdivision.
Holt watched a feel male trying to get away from a guy and when she bumped into him he new that she was his mate. Now she's walking towRds the front door he needs to get to her before she leaves. Chloe just wants to go home when Mr. Buick comes out and asks was she going somewhere. She needs to make a decision to stay and talk or to get in her car and leave this all behind her. Lovely story!!!

OMG I love this book!!! I was laughing before page one was completed. I really enjoy both of these authors. Individually, they write funny stories...together?? It's a ton of laughter!
If you like quick romances, you will like this story.
If you like Shifter books where they know their mate at first smell, you will like this story.
If you like funny short stories...you will LOVE this story.
While we do get to see some of the character development, the story could have been lengthened some by going into a bit more of their histories. I do like that Holt will not mate Chloe without knowing more about her. As annoying at their mothers are, I kinda like them too.
Yes the “F” bomb is dropped a lot in this book, however, I can see the characters using it like that so...I was not bothered by it. I personally try not to cuss much but I know others do.

This is a short read that is everything you want in story and more.
Chloe is a BBW looking for love in all the wrong places and has 3 crazy brothers according to her and a meddling mother; that maybe off her rocker. On a side note I have to say I love her mom because she is the right amount of crazy mixed in with a dirty mind.
Holt is a moody cougar who is upset with the world and has blue balls to go with it. His cougar is ready to mate and won’t let Holt forget it. They are both signed up for the M&M agency and let’s say that when they meet the sparks fly. Holt is super male alpha who shot circuits Chloe’s resolve with just one kiss. I only wish this book were a bit longer, other than that I enjoyed it. Chloe is human with a mother and brother that are too vested in her personal matters to the extent of monitoring her phone, love life, and tracking her location. But its all out of love, right? They were just looking out for her. So, her mom's big fix to Chloe's dating fails were to sign her up to a shifter match-making service. And Holt is a werecougar with a fierce reputation, that finds himself ready to settle down. So, his brother Archer goes to the M&M Mating Agency to sign Holt up for a Meet & Mate. Chloe and Holt both show up, unfortunately Chloe runs into a weasel shifter that won't leave her alone and she stumbles into Holt while trying to get away, from there the sparks fly. Chloe is ready to get busy, while Holt wants to talk a little first- no small talk people, lets do this!! The morning glow fades fast for poor Chloe when she realizes her mother is at Holt's house and then Holt's mom shows up.

Absolutely fantastic start to what I hope will be a series by two wonderful authors.
It's refreshing to find a heroine comfortable in herself and her body. Not once did Chloe mention, think about or whine about her weight. It was a given that she is who she is and she deserved better than your average jerk. This is why she didn't hesitate to think that Mr. Buick, thus dubbed by Chloe herself the second she saw him across the room because he was huge and muscular, would be interested in a relationship with her. Our hero is at a stage in his life where he's ready to find his mate and settle down. Hell, his cougar is practically demanding it. No playing around for this big cat.

A short but fun read. Poor Chloe, she has a meddling mother and overprotective brothers and Holt has a brother who signs him up for the mating service. The sparks fly between the two and it is hot. Enjoyed the characters and their interaction.

This was disappointing. The first half of the book was an introduction to the characters and the second halv a not really welld one sex scene

Quick, fun read. Not meant to be deep, though CK and MC give you enough to like the characters (and feel sorry -while laughing- for the h due to her psycho family). CK and MC’s combined writing style makes you laugh out loud. I love the M&M Dating Agency books!

A few typos in this one, and that's unusual for either Celia or Mina. However it didn't detract from the story. Or the hotness.

A funny and sexy story! This is going down as one of the best quick books I have read so far. Celia Kyle and Mina Carter write so well together that every time I get one of their collaborations to read, I know I'm in for a good time. This book was funny. The characters were really well developed and described and there wasn't one that was slacking. Chloe has a Mom that could work for the CIA. Every time that woman was involved it was both scary and amusing at the same time. The dialogue in this story by itself will leave you laughing. The whole Meet and Mate scenario with the weasel had me both grinning and groaning. Some guys just don't get it! This was was fun to read. I would positively recommended it to anyone who has a sense of humor, who has experienced a really awful blind date while trying to find "the one", or has ever encountered a diabolical and yet ingenious Mom desperate for a grandchild. These two authors should really be on your must buy list every time they release something.
