Rate this book
From bestselling mystery author Stephanie Caffrey comes a hilarious mystery, Sin City style... Sassy Raven McShane may be Vegas's most unlikely new detective, but she always gets her man. Which is why Hollywood heiress Melanie Weston needs Raven's help. When Melanie got serious with a cute Englishman she thought she hit the jackpot—especially when he claimed he was a distant member of the Royal Family. But now things don't quite add up, and she wants Raven to investigate Prince Charming's story. Suddenly she finds herself chasing stories, making enemies, and putting herself in far more danger than she bargained for when her digging uncovers a sinister plot that goes way beyond happily-ever-afters. Raven may have more experience with platform heels than putting away bad guys but she's determined to stay one step ahead of trouble, solve a murder, and look fabulous the entire time! I enjoyed this book. This was an unusual story line, it makes a lots of twists as it unfolds and I don't mean dance moves. Raven is such a great character and I love the way she straddles the line between two jobs. Private investigator is her passion and ticket out of a hard life but by night she has to return to stripping at a Las Vegas night club,, where she not only makes good money but also friends and without her friends she would be in a whole lot of trouble. That's not to say she isn't clever or capable but because she tends to find herself in dangerous and often humours situations, that she can't do it alone. It also helps that she has a connection and possible love interest with the two men most willing to help out. The mystery was good and I had no idea who the killer was and to be honest you spent most of the book trying to work out why there were two men claiming to be married to the murdered victim. A very different series but a fun cozy mystery set in a city where anything can happen.
Raven is surprised when her neighbour asks her to investigate her maybe boyfriend, who claims to from English royalty. Raven doesn't believe his story especially when he needs money to help fight in the courts, in order to gain access to his inheritance and Raven sets out to prove he is lying. Before she can do more than set up surveillance her client does of a drug overdose. With the clients large pay check burning a hole in her pocket Raven decides to use the unused money to investigate her death. But first she has a royal to chase down and find out why her client lied to her and find out what is really going on.
I liked the narrator. I am not sure she pulled off the English accent but each person had there own sounding voice.

I didn't like the plot, but I laughed so many times that I have to give this book 4 stars. Raven is hysterical and I live vicariously through her. There are much worse ways to make a living than being a private dancer and private detective in Las Vegas.

All of them are GREAT reading!

Having read four of the series,I can say they all action packed and that Raven is becoming a very good PI. Can not wait to read more of her adventures.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is the third book in the Raven McShane Mysteries series by Stephanie Caffrey. This book can be read as a standalone, but you will want to go and read the other books when you are done. Raven is a Vegas stripper trying to become a full time private investigator. She is working towards getting her PI license with the sexy PI Mike. When Meanie a Hollywood heiress asks Raven to make sure her boyfriend is who actually a member of the Royal Family she takes the job. The more Raven and Mike investigate the more trouble the find. If you are looking for a great book that will keep you reading until the end, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This is a humorous, cozy-mystery that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. The main character, Raven McShane, is attempting to leave her stripping days behind her by learning the ropes as a private investigator. The banter between Mike, Raven's mentor, and Raven is entertaining. The story is quickly paced, with the pages of the story seeming to turn themselves. Definitely an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

I received an advanced reader's copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Terrific Story

Raven McShane is a private investigator by day and a "dancer" at a club by night. Mike Madsen is a licensed private investigator who supervises her during her first year as a probationary investigator. One day Melanie Weston comes to her office, wanting Raven to investigate her boyfriend, but she's not really SURE he's her boyfriend.....and so it begins.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. However, I also purchased a copy of this book.

I never thought a stripper would be a character I wanted to read about! However Raven McShane is trying to be an ex-stripper and become a PI instead. She's funny and honest, and manages to solve a pretty convoluted mystery. I like the way she isn't afraid to let others help her when solving her case.
This is a fun read with a lot of Las Vegas and LA flavor. It's another world-one that I am happy to experience through Raven's eyes.

Fun, solid mystery

This is the first Raven McShane mystery I've read, and I will be going back for more! Fast paced and entertaining, with good mystery that kept me guessing. The main character, Raven, is very likable, and I enjoyed the secondary characters in her life as well. I loved the Vegas setting, too!

Vegas Card Game

An exciting read and a very interesting heroine who kind of slips into the resolution of the mystery. There are quite a cast of characters that sail through the story. It was an excellent read for the afternoon.

Delightful

This one was very entertaining and a good who done it as well. Raven is kind of a panster but gets the job done. She definitely needs a man because the things she thinks and dreams up are out there but that's part of her charm too.
