Sixty Two Days of Terror: How Medical Neglect Changed Jody’s Life Forever

Rate this book
This is the saga of Jody Miller’s sixty two day horrific stay at a major medical center in Ohio and how it altered her life. Jody, a nurse herself, developed a nagging pain in her legs only to find she had a critical condition requiring immediate attention. She sought help, attempting to resolve the issue with a non-invasive procedure. When this failed major surgery was required, the type of surgery that can be easily yield a fatality on the operating table. She not only survived, but thrived the initial days post-surgery. Days later, all went wrong and the tragic tale slowly evolved. It was a time of sheer terror, a feeling of desolation and unimaginable and horrendous pain. Death was truly at her doorstep.
This story chronicles what happens when mistakes are made, hidden and compounded in a medical setting. The case most certainly demonstrates that time does not heal all wounds and the damage done by a negligent hospital staff can destroy a person’s life - throwing one into the depths of pain and depression. The recounting also relates what happens when one tries to hold those who do the harm accountable and how those responsible hurriedly attempt to bury the facts. Instead of using this as a learning event and making things “right” - money, greed and power reign supreme as the guilty try to buy a tainted justification for their deeds.

I hope to educate you with this story such that your odds of ever experiencing this terror and tragedy are zero. It can happen to you – it happened to Jody. These events are not as rare as one might think. I relate the details, praying that nobody makes the same mistakes that I did. The effects of negligence do not only lie with the patient, but with the family as well. I live with the guilt of not being forceful enough in advocating my wife’s care. Please read this book to become a better advocate for your loved one during his or her hospital stay. It does make a difference!
No story should ever be total darkness and gloom. I do tell of our stronger relationship with the Lord from this experience. I was angry at Him at some points, but He took Jody and me by the hand and raised us out of the bottomless pit. We are still in His hands, but you will see just how our faith started to evolve with this experience. While the trauma was devastating, the kindled fire of faith has been tremendous. I hope you enjoy this very passionate book relating Jody’s story. God bless each and every one of you!

62 Days of Hell!

That poor, poor woman and her loving husband!! As a victim of repeated incidences on a hospital and at our doctor's office, I can relate so very, very much. She is actually one of the "lucky" ones- she survived. Today, there are more than TWO MILLION PATIENTS who've been maimed, disfigured or outright murdered by the medical profession.

TWO. MILLION. PEOPLE. WHO. MATTER!!!!

The jury in this case were fools. How dare they acknowledge the malpractice yet assume the patient did not suffer!? Appeal!!

People better take note: you can no longer trust ANY doctor or medical facility. If ANYTHING happens to you at their hands, regardless of their original purpose or intent, then you and only you will be found 'at fault.' YES, YOU!!

Even if you were unconscious, in surgery ... somehow it gets twisted to protect, not the harmed patient, but the individuals who caused the harm!

Ever since Karl Rove conceived "tort reform" as a plank of George Bush, Jr. ..... patients have been thrown under moving buses daily! The whole bit about how the reforms "saved" money has been proven to be a solid wall of propaganda and misinformation.

Has your healthcare insurance policy reduced its rates? Has any physician bragged about his insurance being reduced?? NO! It was an all out pack of lies, designed to protect, not the patients, but the insurance company! Limiting settlement awards, forcing lawsuits into having ten or more "expert witnesses" as mandatory even if common sense. The jerks who created these "financial reforms" are those apparently far more important people than the workers of America, the backbone of this nation!

GUT TORT REFORM ..... NOT PATIENTS!!

My heart goes out to Jody, Robert, their families (except that brat Carl) and the good people who did their best to keep on trucking, to keep Jody going even when the truly sinful tried to outright killer.
