Miriam has not been outside her parents' house in more than a year, and Bridgeport still has not stopped talking about why. She wants a chance to start again, and to believe she is allowed one. The town keeps the ledger open, and she keeps it open against herself.
Noel Craig, Chicago Firefighter and Preacher's Son. Noel comes west to his foster brother's church in Bridgeport with nothing left of the wedding he had planned. Shame is a quiet debt. A woman can pay it with her friendships, then her hope, then her willingness to be loved. If Miriam will not set hers down, she loses the man who came looking for her, and the home she never dared ask for.
Bridgeport had finished with Miriam Green. The man from Chicago was only beginning.

WOW, i was not expecting this book of Mariam. She is the one person from the whole series i did not expect to read about. She is the one who broke Thea's heart and caused so much trouble. But, it does make sense to show how God works in mysterious ways. Anyone that has not read the rest of the series should start with book 1. Every sister and their husbands has been a blessing to read. Truly this has been one of the best series i've read.
Once you start reading this story, just know that you will not be able to put it down. I don’t want to give anything away about this wonderful story. Just read it and enjoy God’s wonderful grace once again.
