OMG This book was just as wonderful as the first one! I love the way Marlon Mccaulsky spins a story. I am so glad I read this. Im not into "series" types books but on occasion I am totally surprised. This was such a satisfying read even if you had not read Pink Palace 1. Loved it. Read it!

For The Love Of A Good Man

The gang is back and not a minute too soon. The story picks up three years later and I can see the growth in the characters. They have moved on to bigger and better things, but the street life is not so forgiving. Andre "Dre" Wade has left the drug dealing behind and is now a loyal taxpaying citizen. When "unsettled" debts creep back up, it puts Dre and his family in a crazy position. When the unthinkable happens and Dre has terrible accident, Nikki Bell has to lead the family and go back to the infamous strip club "The Pink Palace".

Going back into stripping was not in the plans, but to save her family, Nikki does what she has to. Things are far from the same; she is no longer the HBIC nor does she want to be. She there to do a job and get out. Malachi Turner the club owner has Nikki on a short leash and will do anything to control her. The question is: how far will Nikki go to protect her family? Jasmine the club headliner is a trip and the reason I enjoyed this novel so much. Her antics will keep you” incase” to see what she does next. Of course we get to keep up with some old friends as Jayson and Janelle make appearances, along with the new characters Kandi, Bump,Chauncey, Polo, Reggie and Ricky. This makes for some good ole reading.

Author Marlon McCaulsky has done what so many want to do: a successful sequel that is also a standalone book. Love how this author tells a story. His narration keeps you interested. I love a book where the characters have chapters and this author has mastered that effect. I look to see what he has in his future for us readers. I am sure he won’t disappoint the masses. I highly recommend this fast paced novel with an ending that will have you applauding.  With no stoned left unturned there is no need to continue, but I can see how Kandi and Jasmine can hold down the fort as we follow them as business women.

The Pink Palace II by Marlon McCaulsky

After being gang raped, beaten and left for dead in book one, Nikki has turned over a new leaf in her life. She and long-time love, Dre, are running a successful business and raising their son, content to live a normal life, when the unthinkable happens. A man of his word who takes care of his debts, Dre’s life is just about ready to reach the next level when a situation from his past came back to bite him.

Malachi, a Jamaican drug lord, thinks he’s god. A man who gets off on throwing his power around and controlling everything around him, his greed gets the better of him and he tries to extort more money from Dre than what was previously agree upon. Things turn bloody when Dre refuses to bow down to Malachi’s tactics, leaving Nikki no choice but to delve back into her former life to help the man she loves.

An intense, page-turning read, The Pink Palace II, introduces new players into the game. But things are never as they seem. Nikki is left with life-changing decisions to make that could become deadly if not handled just so.

Again, McCaulsky has written a great story. Although this is part of a series, he has done a fantastic job of weaving the old with the new where it’s not necessary to have read book one to understand the plot. McCaulsky is a wonderful story-teller with the ability to create characters readers can not just relate to, but also identify with and feel.

It is true that some things never change in clubs, which is the same story at the Pink Palace. In the sequel Pink Palace 2, readers revisit the club that has new drama, deceit, and betrayal. Nikki Bell gave up dancing at the Pink Palace to start a life with her man Andre Wade. Nikki was happy to rid herself of the hustling lifestyle even though it seems that the lifestyle does not want to leave her alone.

After a tragic accident, Nikki is forced back into a life of dancing to keep her family together. Nikki confronts the new owner of the club, Malachi Turner but does not realize what she has gotten herself into. The hustling life is easy to get into but hard to get out. It is also a life where no one can be trusted. Once Malachi's true colors come out, Nikki will have to make alliance with an unlikely person in order to rid herself once again of a dancer's lifestyle.

Pink Palace 2 is a story of betrayal, blackmail, and drama. The author provides strong characters and the storyline is to be expected. I enjoyed reading this book even though some parts reminded me of the movie The Player's Club. It would not surprise me to see another installment in this series. I recommend this book to those who love urban-lit and drama.

Wow. This book was the business!! I read this series out of order and had finished The Pink Palace Part one when it first came out so I had to go back and read some of it to refresh my memory on characters and storylines. I loved this book. I feel like with every scene I am walking into the clubs, houses with the characters. I gotta say nikki and jasmine are like my home girls lol and very rarely do I get this attached to characters.

I can't figure out if I like malicious or this book better but I cannot wait to read book four. Marlon tries to shy away from the idea of there being a book four but I know better and I know him...it's coming and I cannot wait wait.
