A great read, the relationship between the two main characters, Ned and Sam, is brilliantly portrayed. It has obviously been well researched as it makes you feel that you are riding in the dust and under the stars on the Chisolm Trail but with a plot twist that is not your standard western story. Overall a little gem that you could read again and again.

A very enjoyable read. An interesting mix of genres (cowboy, horror and a bit of comedy) that works well together because they wrap around the heart of the story - the true friendship between two mates. I was impressed with the level of detail about the workings of a cattle drive, as well as the banter between the main characters that was appropriate for the time and setting.

This was a great read that kept me captivated and entertained with every page. Filled with humour, warmth and a good dose of horror, this story had me hooked. The characters are well nuanced and instantly relatable. The story interweaves the emotive bond between man and nature with the added intrigue of the supernatural. A truly well written tale that resonates with a deep understanding of the human psyche and the profound wonder of nature.
