Riley Murphy writes sexy, humorous, and emotional romance, happy ending guaranteed. An optimist, she believes life is awesome, people are complicated, but in a good way, and we should never stop learning. Riley currently has a whole mess of grandkids who are keeping her very busy! When Riley's not working she enjoys oil painting, designing furniture-who knew? And, traveling to see those grandbabies every chance she gets.

If Riley wasn't a writer, she'd be an international spy with top-level security so she could have a peek at Area 51 and decide for herself if those green guys are for real. Pushed by Riley Murphy has a decent premise, a bit dark, and is highly erotic. For some reason I just couldn't get into this story. I was able to finish it but it almost felt robotic. There was no connection to the characters like in Provoked, the first book of this series. This novel was just okay for me. The hero is a bit dark but very much a dominant and the world continues to swirl around in the BDSM scene since the female lead is very much a part of the scene. I wanted to love it but it didn't do it for me so it gets a soft 3.75 stars from me.

I didn't love it as much as the first. I really wanted to but Cat was a little annoying. Jude was not as alpha and Dom as I wanted him to be. Then the story with the Sanctuary and the bad guys just made me dizzy. The writing is great, the sex is hot, and Neil is still amazing.

I look forward to the end of the story and find out what's going on at the Sanctuary, and how they are going to end it.

I'm thrilled with Riley Murphy's newest novel, Pushed. It's just as good as the first novel in the series, Provoked. To enjoy Pushed, it isn't necessary to read, Provoked, but you'll want to because both have mysteries to be solved, gorgeous alpha males, and romance that includes passionate, lose-your-mind sex.
In spite of the emotional and physical torture, that is only alluded to, at a place erroneously named, The Sanctuary, the indomitable Jude Wilde transforms himself into an incredible Dom with a plan to own the heart, mind, and soul of Catherine Waters. Of course, he does get help from his friend and trainer, Master Neil Cannon. Cat's a feisty, stubborn, and yet, truly submissive woman. She has an identical twin, Charlie, who's her confidante, and sometimes co-conspirator. The sisters, of course, have some hilarious moments that balance out the intriguing and sometimes tearful ones (mostly the good kind). I highly recommend, Pushed, and I'm looking forward to the last book in the series, Persuaded.

I loved "Pushed"... Jude is a mix of loving man, tough Dom and a gifted, yet oh so dirty storyteller. Cat is part tough girl, part gentle sub and part sad woman... their story together is well written and keeps you wanting to read. Riley continues the back story from "Provoked" (read that one first, you need the back story to keep up and you absolutely won't regret it!!) and you learn some more about other characters that I really hope she is planning to write about. You get a HEA for Cat and Jude (and what a good one it is). 5 stars for Riley, she has done it again!

Damn, I though book 1 was good Jude and Cat are turning up the heat in book 2. Starting out seeing what happens to Jude was definitely an attention grabber and then seeing the Don in him come out was so damn smokin. I loved this story and just couldn't take a break. I have found a new love for jam btw, read this book and you'll totally get what I mean. Loved loved loved, heading straight into book 3 next because this series is that good. This is my voluntary and unbiased option.

This book simply blew. Me. Away. Riley Murphy is easily one of the my favorite romance writers. The way she weaves characters throughout the whole emotional spectrum, all the while maintaining an interesting plot that keeps you guessing is what makes her work a cut above the rest.

Always,

Pushed was even better than Provoked! Jude Wilde is a very sexy used to be vanilla turned Dom that has to tame the wild Cat Woods. Loved it! Pushed has tons of twists and turns, so much so that I couldn't put it down.

5 hot tamales for Ms. Riley Murphy!

Throughout Provoked, the first book in this series, I was very curious about whether I'd like this sequel or not. On the one hand, Catherine’s texts and phone calls to Charlie after they switched places with each other made me anxious to know what was going on between her and Jude. On the other hand, neither was a very likable character in the first book since Catherine was portrayed as the “brat” and Jude the “connected” villain. The author did a wonderful job turning that around. She made Jude downright lovable, and without changing Catherine’s character, she showed her side of things and the reasons behind her behavior. I was also surprised just how believable Riley made Jude’s transition from a “vanilla pudding pop” to a real dom. She showed how his experiences at the sanctuary changed him and dropped hints that he’d always had dominant thoughts and feelings.

Murphy’s letters from the characters are so insightful in highlighting the beauty in power exchanges. Jude really gets it and expresses it beautifully. I felt this book delves more into BDSM than the first one did. The love scenes are just as steamy, perhaps even more so, but they don’t overshadow the very suspenseful plot.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross’s narration is as wonderful as the writing. They nail all of the roles and draw you into the book. They are easily my favorite narrators. No one else I’ve heard even comes close.

I recently listened to this book on Audible.com
Here is my review:

"Smokin' Hot!! I need me some Jude!!"

Where does Pushed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Pushed is in the top five of my favorite books ever! I could definitely listen to this book over and over and never tire of it.

What did you like best about this story?
It was hot, sexy, romantic, and has a great mysterious storyline.

Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the book as a whole, but my favorite parts were when Jude pushed Katherine to her limits and the restaurant scene.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Sometimes a good fight is all that's needed for love to prevail, and when push comes to shove, the walls around your heart were meant to come crumbling down.

Any additional comments?
I loved this second installment in the Make Me Series. Riley Murphy has made me fall in love with this genre and every word she writes is absolutely beautiful. The narrators Kai Kennicot and Wen Ross have done an amazing job with bringing this book to life and I can't imagine it without their breathtaking performance.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I did not care for Pushed. I think Murphy is a good writer, but I had a lot of problems with the story line. Firstly, I couldn't really follow the story within the story -- about a search for a missing girl -- the story went back and forth between that and a new Dom (Jude, the main character) who was trying to tutor a submissive (Cat) whom he loved but she was fighting him at every turn. Characters kept being introduced without enough explanation and I found it confusing and honestly, I would have put the book down after the first 30 pages if I hadn't promised to review it in exchange for receiving it.

I have enjoyed other works of Murphy's but this one was just too confusing for me. It's not the first in a series (at least, that was my impression) and maybe if I'd read the first book first it would have made more sense but I really didn't like it.

Cat is a feisty little thing, “maybe it was an expression of gratitude for you allowing me go see Neil’s shiny cars. Or, could be, I just don’t like you blowing me off so you can handle things. Did you come up with the belt loop punishment to rob me of my independence at the meeting? Gah! You’re crushing me with your weight.” Jude and Cat I thou ghost t were perfect for each other they balance each other out. I liked this book at times though nicely a little uncomfortable reading about their sex life some things made me uneasy.

Ok I didn't read the first one in this series so maybe that kind of made parts of this book hard to follow or confusing. I loved the vanilla pop Dom lol but wished that part of how he changed was focused on more. The parts about the women and girls and the sister I just got confused by or didn't really care about. But the chemistry was smokin and I wanted to know more about why and how he got to the sanctuary and how he got out. Even the part about Gabriella was kind of up in air so maybe that will be in different story. Or covered in first book. Interested to see where next one will go.

Cat what can I say. You are a work in progress but thank goodness for your personality and charm.

I just knew all would be revealed in this book but I know there is more dirt to unravel.

I can't wait to see whi next the series and how this will play out.
