Standalone Paranormal Romance book (HEA. No cliffhanger)
BBW, Rebecca Sanderson, has dragged her two friends on a weekend kayaking excursion through the New Hampshire mountains to help her get over her ex-fiancée. But the three girls will find more than just kayaking when they meet their three sexy, werebear guides.
Werebear, Connor Jacoby, is trying really hard to make his new kayaking business succeed. But it's hard when one of your employees phases into a bear in front of your customers and the other charges for autographs because he thinks he's famous since he once played two games in the NFL before getting kicked out.
Connor already has his hands full and it's about to get worse when his two incompetent employees bond to the two hot girls they are paired with. But there's nothing he can say because his bear bonds with the beautiful Rebecca.
The three 'couples' get separated in a freak flash flood and they must survive the wilderness, but harder than that, they must survive each other for the night.
Kim Fox has done it again. Another funny, sexy, fun-filled story full of hilarious characters, witty dialogue and scorching sex!
A hot, new paranormal romance writer who loves Werebears and the tough, BBW that can handle them.
Her latest series is Smokejumpers: Werebear (Bear Shifters of Flathead Forest) a cast of fun, lovable and sexy smokejumping shifters. Each book focuses on a different member of the crew and the women that they fall for.
I laughed so hard through Bearly Breathing when three Werebears of New Hampshire take three New York City beauties on a weekend kayaking excursion through the mountains.
Rebecca the kindergarten teacher recovering from her ex-finance sleeping with her wedding planner just before the wedding, Angie the really smart physicist and Grace the supper sophisticated Senator's daughter at Rebecca's request join her for a weekend in the wilderness.
Connor the owner of the kayaking business has two other werebears to help him as guides. He bonded with Rebecca as his mate. Sidney is an ex-NFL player and knows very little about anything not related to sports and he finds Angie attractive. Edwin has been spent all of his life since the age of fifteen in bear form and keeps shifting and then shifting back naked and he can't resist Grace.
The three kayaking couples get separated in a storm causing flash floods on the river for a very funny and heart warming story. I can't wait for what happens next in the series.
I really enjoyed Bearly Breathing and loved how it was presented. We meet our three werebears who run a kayaking holiday retreat, and then the three women who won a holiday for the weekend. As soon as they all meet, the werebears meet their mates, however the women are just plain creeped out. Lol. There are some nice funny moments which lead to a bad storm which splits each couple up, forced to spend one night in the woods together.
We then see each couple separately and how they are able to connect to each other. This is really just a setup for each couple to get their own book, however it leaves everyone in a HFN situation and I really enjoyed it. While I could leave their stories here, I look forward to finding out how they all go after their magical weekend.
*Sigh* I went in wanting to like this, thanks in part to the opener with two werebears practically destroying a kitchen in their quest to eat. It was funny, and I had hoped that the comedy would have continued throughout the story. I liked the banter between Conner and Rebecca as they collected edible plants in the forest, and I also liked the Trivial Pursuit game between Sydney and Angie. The rest of the book...bleh. I found the premise of three women meeting their shifter mates all at once a stretch. The fact that none of the three women really freaked out upon seeing the werebear transformations, but immediately jumped the guys bones and went along with the mate stuff made me shake my head...I found myself reading yet another shifter book of insta-sex, insta-love... I get the whole 'know your mate and bond forever' theme, but dammit, it would have been nice to actually have more interactions between the characters than just the sex. 1.75 stars.

Heather's Notes This story was a bit ridiculous but at the same time still good. I think instead of trying to do all 3 girls at once, she should have written 3 separate books. The story went a little too quickly and it had some big holes. Still over all it was fun to read.
Kim Fox has cornered the market on imaginative shifter storylines. I have yet to encounter one done twice in her books but she creates the most annoying characters...lol. However they are hilarious and so sweet, which balances the nuisances her characters make out of themselves. Edwin so far is the worst, a feral bear who has lived in the woods most of his life as his bear and allowed to travel to New York by himself to claim his mate. Told ya, unique. Bravo Kim.
No HEA but an introduction for three further books. An interesting but not riveting sort of story. Very well written but as this is not really a book but an introduction to three other stories it jumps all over the place covering three couples. I enjoyed it but came away thinking okay, now I have to buy more books to know what happens with these couples. I have read this before in a box set.
I could have sworn that I read and reviewed this series a couple of years ago but I'm pleasantly surprised to find that I have not. The only thing that irked me a bit is that it's kind of a cliffhanger. However it's not too bad since the series is complete.
Completely safe and free of abuse and cheating, no others after meeting, no ow/om drama.
Really, I'd say this book is nothing *but* cliffhangers for the next three in the series. Which is ok, because in my opinion this book doesn't really cut it as a stand alone.
But the next three, where you really get to know the three couples introduced here, are worth the read.
A light hearted read. One to make your heart melt that is for sure. One man dealing with two knuckleheads as women came to stay at his cabin in the woods... Amusing with so many laughs. One of those novels to pick up to make you feel good.
This was an interesting and entertaining read. In this one were introduced to three werebears plus their mates. It's opposites attract and connect kinda story that'll have you laughing.
Edwin is truly an original character. A feral bear shifter rescued by his now boss, Connor, who has been trying to civilize Edwin. Ed was abandoned by his family at 10 in the forest, where he's foraged as a bear most his life to survive. To say he's more comfortable in his bear form is an understatement. Connor has Edwin working in his new kayaking business and that's where he meets Grace. Grace comes from a rich, very political & powerful, family. She's been expected to meet her father's expectations to the exclusion of her own wishes. Edwin's guileless innocence takes some getting use to. But Grace begins to realize Edwin's true value and importance in her life. Its a wonderful story of innocence meeting cynicism. Edwin is a genuine, original, quirky, honest character that is one of a kind. His qualities bring this story together & make both he & Grace better people.
DELICIOUSLY CUTE, FABULOUSLY FUNNY, COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING, SERIOUSLY SEXY AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: Bearly Breathing Author: Kim Fox Series: Werebears of New Hampshire Genre: Paranormal Romance Designation: Stand Alone Novella My Rating: FIVE FABULOUSLY FUNNY STARS ***** Wow! Jackpot! Another winner from Kim Fox! Bearly Breathing is Kim's first offering in her brand new Werebears of New Hampshire Series and it rocked my world! This light-hearted, fun-filled, fast-paced paranormal romance/adventure is hands down, one of the cutest, sweetest, funniest, sexiest and most entertaining stories I've read in a long time. By the third page, I was howling with laughter and with every page I turned, I only laughed harder. By the end of the book, I was holding my sides, gasping for air with tears of laughter streaming from my eyes. I loved it! This story has a perfect combination of danger, drama, adventure, thrills, chills, humor, romance and of course, good old fashioned bear bonding and dreamy sex! Yeah baby! The dialogue is smart, sassy and exceptionally well written in the third person with multiple points of view from all six characters which in my opinion, gives much more insight into not only the feelings of each character but the story as well. And speaking of the characters, they were fabulous - captivating, engaging, endearing, sexy as sin and down right hilarious! Kindergarten teacher Rebecca Sanderson desperately needs some downtime with her two best friends, theoretical physicist, Angie Hawkins and senator's daughter and socialite, Grace Briggs. She's trying to recover from a bad breakup with her now ex-fiance who cheated with her wedding planner. What the heck? And she has just the getaway/retreat in mind. She's won a weekend kayaking excursion from a New York City radio station and it sounds absolutely perfect to her. Besides, both her friends owed her big time so they could just suck it up and make the drive with her to the beautiful mountains of New Hampshire and spend the weekend with her roughing it and kayaking their little hearts out. Becca was all for finding an exciting adventure but she never expected that she and her friends would each find handsome, hunky boyfriends and discover a secret that would change their lives forever. Oh my! Handsome werebear Connor Jacoby, owner and operator of Brooke Excursions, is determined to make his new kayaking excursion/adventure business a success. He just has to wrangle in his two employees, werebears Sidney and Edwin, to keep them on their best behavior and hopefully prevent them from frightening away his customers. As the time grows near for the arrival of his three new guests, all young women from New York City, he becomes even more doubtful that he can actually pull this off. If only Edwin could stop phasing every two minutes and if Sidney would just shut the heck up and not try to hit on them, then maybe, just maybe, everything would turn out okay. Connor has always had a way with the ladies and has never had a problem attracting women but he never dreamed in a million years that he and his bear would react so strongly to the beautiful brunette that just stepped out of her car. Now, he can't even seem to speak! Oh my! Let the hijinks begin! Three handsome, hilarious bear shifters-check! Three beautiful human women-check! Danger, drama, outrageous humor, a ton of laughs and a kayak load of hijinks-check! Heated attraction, sweet romance, bear bonding and some steamy dreamy sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! Deliciously cute, fabulously funny, seriously sexy, completely captivating and delightfully entertaining!!! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves bear shifters, romance and loads of humor! This is a stand alone novella with no cliffhanger and a lovely happy for now ending.
Bearly Breathing by Kim Fox is my first book of hers and I’m in serious like with her books. This first book in her brand new Werebears of New Hampshire Series had me laughing though the whole book! You will love it. This is a story of six polar opposites that do attract, coming together. This book about 3 werebears and 3 ladies stranded, in the forest overnight after a kayaking mishap. Kindergarten teacher Rebecca Sanderson desperately needs some downtime with her two best friends, theoretical physicist, Angie Hawkins and senator's daughter and socialite, Grace Briggs. She's trying to recover from a bad breakup with her now ex-fiancé who cheated with her wedding planner. What the heck? And she has just the getaway/retreat in mind. She's won a weekend kayaking excursion from a New York City radio station and it sounds absolutely perfect to her, what could go wrong. The 3 bears are Connor, Sidney and Edwin. Connor is the owner of the Brooke Excursions and he wants this weekend to go smoothly to impress the girls and bring in more business. But he is also the responsible, and mature one out of his group. He has to keep the other two in line, but his own bear has some cravings going on under the surface. Sidney is an ex football player in the NFL, a polar bear, and has a habit of saying the first thing that pops into his mind. Edwin had a bad run, he shifted in front of his human parents and was left in the wood to fend for himself until Connor found him. So let's say he isn't housebroken yet.
I was gifted this ARC for an honest review. Thanks Kim!!!!
This book about 3 werebears and 3 ladies stranded in the forest overnight after a kayaking mishap. It is all parts, sweet, funny, awkward, dirty, bad, and naughty. Your 3 bears are Connor, Sidney and Edwin. Rebecca, Grace, and Angie are in for a big surprise on this trip and quite the adventure. Rebecca planned the trip to get some distance from a broken engagement, she is a brunette and considers herself the "other" friend. Grace is an overly spoiled, blonde, socialite, a.k.a. the hot one. And Angie is the egghead, know it all, redhead. Connor and Rebecca click almost at first sight, being that he is the only civilized male out of the bunch, the other two need some serious work. I did enjoy Angie and Sidney's bickering, because she just knew everything and was always right and Sidney had the same complex but he was usually wrong.
Three werebears, Connor, Sydney and Edwin and three city girls Rebecca, Grace and Angie were going to spend a weekend kayaking. Connors business, Brookes Excursions, was going to be very crowded and hot with the three pairs. What a mix! The author wrote a very amusing, entertaining and adventurous story with romance, steamy sex and with a lot of expectations for the characters and also, the readers. The way they met and the adventures they shared during the storm made me laugh a lot. The werebear characters were very hilarious with their dialogs and behavior. The male’s interaction with the women was like a war of words that kept my attention looking for who was smarter. Really, the werebears were special in themselves. Won my appreciation. In this book the author wrote about how they met and the start of something deeper. Also, I think this was a sensible story where emotions were more important than appearances. It seemed that the female characters were struggling with what society expect of them. Rebecca Sanderson was feeling down because her ex- boyfriend cheated her with her wedding planner. Angie was lacking a real sex experience immerse in her nerdy life and Grace felt she was used by her friends and lovers who wanted the benefits of being with a senator’s daughter. I know there are more books about these characters so I expect to know more about their relationships and the outcome of the romance. I recommend the story.
In spin-off Bearly Breathing by Kim Fox, we are introduced to three werebears finding their mates and their journey to a happily ever after. In this comedic bear shifter story there are remnants of the Three Stooges only in lieu of Larry, Curly and Mo this trio is made up of Connor, Edwin, and Sidney! These characters will have you in stitches. Our heroines, Rebecca, Angie and Grace are from the big city and are not accustom to the rough outdoors, but when Rebecca wins a weekend trip to kayak on the Saco River in New Hampshire she rounds her besties up and heads out for the adventure of their lives!
While kayaking a flash flood occurs and each couple is split up by Mother Nature's wrath. We are then given a snippet of couple’s night spent outdoors in the wilderness. If you can imagine Kim Kardashian and Paul Bunyan stranded in the woods without supplies...then you will begin to understand the hilarious events that take place in this backwoods tale.

WARNING! Do not read this in public if you don't want people to hear you burst out laughing! Yep this one will do it. Take normal (except he's a werebear) Conner, working hard to make his kayaking business a success--add Edwin, a feral bear Conner is trying to civilize and then there is Sydney, big, gorgeous--dumb as a stump--(sorry but I gotta say it like it is) adorable polar were. With help like these guys his plans for a successful weekend excursion could be a problem
Rebecca, kindergarten teacher, just cheated on by her fiance, Grace, senator's daughter and uber wealthy, add genius scientist Angie as the clients for the weekend and you have the basic for ... did I mention a freak storm .... ?
Who would think that any combination of the six could make for a pair--well they are all hot, I mean steaming hot. Come on a long for the weekend from hell -- could it turn into heaven? However it turns out you will love every sentence and fall for all of them. I strongly recommend this one.
Title : Bearly Breathing Author : Kim Fox Reviewed by : Stephanie Jordan ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ I don't know what inspired Ms. Fox when she wrote this book, but I was laughing many times at the antics of these three bears. Conner a Kodiak Bear, was the owner of Brooke Excursions which was for kayaking. Conner had two employees. Sidney who was a Polar Bear and Edwin was a brown. He was so excited he couldn't sleep, this could be the break he's been waiting for. The radio station told him if the three girl that are coming up today gave him good reviews they were going to give away tickets for excursions every week for a year. This could be it. .. Rebecca won, she won, the New York City radio station weekend kayaking excursion. And boy did she needed this weekend vacation plus her friends Grace and Angie were going to go with her. Yes what trip this is going to be. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
Bearly Breathing was funny I found myself outright laughing giggling throughout this whole book....Talking about opposite attraction Connor is a Kodiak werebear who's the owner of Brooke Excursions as a kayaking retreat; with two werebear apprentice employees Edwin a Brown bear and Sidney a Polar bear. Rebecca has won a contest for a free weekend at the kayaking retreat. Rebecca along with her two best friends Angie and Grace are about see how the opportunities turned in ways that you wouldn't inspected and keeping you entertain from start to finish. I was blown away from how Ms. Kim Fox had mixtures of combination of thing working thorough her mind, participation in trilling adventure she didn't leave you hanging with amusement ooooh sex sence was Wow she made feel apart with captivating me keep me with ever turn.
The first in a new Bear shifter series. Conner has opened a wilderness retreat with Kayaking as the main attraction. He is a Kodiac bear shifter so needed to employ only other bears to help run his resort. How he got stuck with the tow he picked is his story to tell. Rebecca won a weekend kayaking from the local radio station. She bullies her two best friends into coming with her. The happenings of the weekend are much better described by our author. Suffice to say every one of the six people involved learned important lessons. Even super intelligent Angie and the posh Senator's daughter Grace. I loved all of these characters. The book is full of fun and adventure despite being a quick read.
You have to love a book that has three stories in one. Three friends on a weekend kayaking trip get separated in a freak flash flood. You get to find out how each of the three girls survive a night with their werebear guides. Connor and Rebecca. Grace and Edwin. Angie and Sidney. Talk about opposites!
This is a fun story, with three couples that couldn't be more opposite of each other. I was a little disappointed that the ending didn't have an epilogue, but that just means that Ms. Fox can write a part 2... I personally would love the story to continue.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was a cute story has three stories in one. about three girlfriends Rebecca Grace and Angie winning a trip for a kayak adventure that is run by three werebears Connor Edwin and Sydney. There is a lot of funny moments in this book and it was really neat to see that each couple was the total opposite of each other and how they each had their own little versions of how they discover that Connor Edwin and Sydney were werebears and to see the girls reactions were all different I was a little upset how the story ended but I'm hoping but this just leaves room for each of them to have their own stories in their own books
This is a hilarious book about three city girls who go on a kayaking trip with three werebears. Connor is trying to make his business a success but he has his work cut out for him when he employs an conceited ex-NFL player and an almost feral werebear who tends to shift when he shouldn't. When a flash flood separates them into three couples sparks fly. This is a short story with each couple getting their own short story on how they first get together. I loved this story but it was too short and I wish the author would write a part 2 so we can see where these couples end up. There was a HEA, but it seemed more like a HFN.
