An 800 year old Kitsune bound to the Japanese Mafia.
A Voodoo Witch love-cursed.

Yoichi is a powerful kitsune who has spent centuries protecting a bloodline and accepting that whatever curse chained him to his mafia boss, the Dragon, took his fated mate too. He has survived the bloodiest yakuza war Japan has ever seen, crawled to an abandoned shrine outside Kyoto to heal, and made peace with walking this earth alone.

Then a New Orleans Voodoo witch enters his shrine, and everything changes.

Gabrielle is love-cursed—any man that falls for her will die. She went to Japan to find a magical root that can break her family curse, and found so much more.

Eight tails.
Two curses.
One red thread.

“My mate. My witch. My forever.” 🦊🖤✨

This was fun!! 🦊💋 If you’re a fan of Kenya’s Dragon series, this will be such a pleasant surprise because it follows a character from the series! 🖤🐉 He was immediately intriguing when he was introduced, so getting to learn more about him and his story was AWESOME. I loved getting to see more of his character! 😍✨

One thing I always appreciate about Kenya’s books is how much research she puts into the cultures she explores. 📚✨ You can tell she takes the time to understand the culture she’s writing about, and it’s always executed so well and with care. 🖤 I swear, I always end up with a million highlights while reading her books! 📝💖

This was exactly what I needed to fill the void left by the Dragon series while I wait for the final book. 🥹🐉❤️ If you’ve been missing that world and its characters, definitely give this one a read! 🦊🔮🖤✨

Yeah its a no from me

First and foremost there was far too many AI pictures located throughout this book. I understand that the author wants us to see their vision but it takes away the pleasure of being able to imagine it ourselves. Secondly, I am aware its paranormal but honestly it should be noted that it basically dipped its toe into fantasy beastality which if I knew that was in here it would be a hard pass from me.

2.5 stars.

I loved the premise!

Not sure what happened here because The Dragon series was so dang good. The writing in The Dragon was so emotionally compelling. This should have been extremely emotionally compelling and angsty, the premise is bloodline curses that keep the MCs from finding peace in their lives and love. But this felt empty and horny.

The FMC's characterization didn't seem to be cohesive all the time. Absolutely a person can contain multitudes but it doesn't really make sense that a practiced (like, since childhood) witch that deals with demons, spirits, and other entities and buries the bodies of her lovers that are killed by her curse would act so scared and and freaked out constantly.

I hated the use of AI for artwork in this book. Also, "little witch" was incredibly annoying as a term of endearment.

Entertainingly Wicked

Knotted by the Yakuza by Kenya Wright is the fourth book in Knotted by the Mobsters. This book is Epic, Highly Engaging, and full of Humour. There's never a dull moment, the characters show growth throughout the story. The plot has twists and turns, humor that makes you laugh out loud, and readability that allows for hours of continuous reading. Plus the romance elements, particularly the smoking hot love scenes, is of the best I have read, it's totally engaging with the Spice being passionate, emotional, and addicting. I have to say these characters came as a total surprise. Gabby is a gorgeous witch with long twisted locs down her back, Her eyes are light brown, she has full lips and curves, she also has a black heart marked in the center of her chest, that people thinks is a tattoo, but it's a family love curse. Because of the curse her aunt sends her to Japan. Yoichi is a kitsune an enormous eight-tailed predator, a Fox spirit that's curse which binds him to Kenji Sato bloodline as his spiritual guardian, in his human form he has fought in Japan’s biggest mafia war for his boss, known to the world as the Dragon. Gabby and Yoichi meet when Yoichi is healing his broken body at the shrine of Oiwa. I enjoyed the Romantic tension it's not built upon a silly misunderstandings or immaturity, the tension between the hero and heroine comes from a profound and emotionally complex source. Kenya's writing style is unique and one of a kind. She makes the world she is writing about be perfectly written, described, and carried. Her books will immerse you in this world, and make you feel these characters could be real, as well as the sizzling sex make me wish I could meet a man such as one that she has the ability to so richly and powerfully write about. Just Wow, I am speechless. The story is intriguing in a interesting and wicked way. Overall excellent ending and wrap up of this book. I am truly enjoying Knotted by the Mobsters series. I highly recommend this book. #AmBw #KbyTM #IRR #IPR

Okay, I REALLY liked this short story. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars was because it was short AND the ending felt unfinished.
I loved the stories of old ancient Japan, mixed with generational bayou voodoo voodoo witchcraft! How could NOT be a fantastic read!!
Gabby, our FMC is a pretty badass witch. She comes from a line of strong women and knows how to call upon her ancestors when its time to mix up a little position here & there or simple cast a spell when needed. She had no clue what was waiting for her when her Aunt sent her in a mission to retrieve a specific root, found only in Japan. She found this item alright and a WHOLE lot more!
MAN OH MAN, I NEED ME A YOICHI!! To call him a MMC just doesn't fit his description. He was more like our MAIN kitsune/male/female/beast!! Yoichi was all of that, made by the God Inari. He wandered the earth bound to protect two families, while waiting & hoping (and low key searching) to find his mate. After eight hundred years, Yoichi lost faith and thought it was never going to happen for him...until it did ;)
This was the perfect read for Halloween season. You've got ghosts, spirits, witches, death, curses, mythical creatures, its all here!!
Was this my first Kenya Wright read?
IT SURE WAS
Will I read more from Kenya Wright?
YES, DUH
Do I plan to continue this series or read more of Yoichi?
BOTH, FOR SURE

Knotted by the Yakuza was an amazing book and i loved reading it. Yoichi and Gabby come from one of the author's series. Yoichi is a 800 year old kitsune which is a fox spirit who have been walking the earth for decades. Yoichi is cursed for eternity and he is seriously injured and that's when he meets Gabby who is a voodoo witch. Gabby healed Yoichi and that's when he discovers that Gabby is his fated mate and that's where their Love story begins. I loved how she did her research and gave the reader the backstory of how both Yoichi and Gabby got their curses. I loved the artwork, music, and how it matched up with the scene. My favorite part of the book was when Gabby's curse was broken and what Yoichi's confession said. Knotted by the Yakuza is a beautiful story and i didn't want to put my kindle down. this book deserved the five stars that i gave it. it was well written and the visuals absolutely top tier and i would definitely recommend for readers to read this book. I look forward to reading more of Kenya Wright's work.

Wasn't expecting this

So, first I read this cover to cover in no time at all because I was sucked in immediately. I've been so curious to learn more about the Grand Madame of NOLA, Delphine and the mysteries of her family. Learning about her and her family through Gabby was an addition or line of the story I didn't know I needed. The continued convergence one of my all time favorite worlds is top tier. I also have to admit I didn't see Yoichi as an Alpha bad ass as he is in the book. The way he is SO sure of his love for her and his ability to love her anyway. I love all of it. Plus, the extra he brings puts their intimacy on a whole other level.
Where does KW come up with this stuff?! I'm here for it all, though.

what a read

All I can say is it a crime to fall? Miss Wright, you never fail girl I wanna jump in your brain live in your soul girl cause you are in mine not only is the smut in the steam deck the plot and the layers to your book but you give me a mind F… that makes Mi just scream in the good ways being that I have read all of your books and reread the mouse and the dragon all the time it really clicked in because I knew the characters that you spoke of, and that is so rare of a writer to be able to do what you do just never stop. OK never stop to who’s reading this. Keep reading don’t stop reading. This is the best Arthur hands-down.

I went into this blind and I’m so glad I did!

She gave us a strong black witchy FMC, voodoo history, and a generational curse! Then was like now learn about Japanese spirits and gods…. Then gave the MMC four forms?!? This was everything! I need a series. I need more about her family (cause bump her shady great great great great great grandmother smh), i want to the next generation, and i want more about his curse and the two families.

This was so good! Just a bit repetitive at times.

Also… she shot him 7 times and he laughed. True love.

A Delicious Knotting⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a fun read! I loved the feistiness of the FMC, and how she really made the MMC earn her. Their banter was so much fun, and totally keeps you engaged in the story, and the backstory on bothe MCs is so rich and interesting and it really gives such color and context to the book. AND WHEW CHILE’ when it comes to the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I knew it was going to be something unusual and unique, and it was! This one definitely gets a 4 BURNING ❤️‍🔥s! What a fun read!

Lots of tales, I mean tails!

An excellent read, especially for those of us who follow KW! Such a fun surprise to find the connections to the Dragon and The Lion and the Mouse series (no spoilers!).

Sometimes these multi-author series feel like quickly written stories just to keep things moving, but KW isn’t like that. She continues to give us what we want as readers. The story has substance, and you can tell she puts thought into it. Not just a quickie to check a box. Another great read!

I didn’t want this story to end!

I truly enjoyed this book by Kenya Wright. She can write a story and make it come to life in your head. You can envision yourself at some of the scenes that she writes about and you even get a chance to listen to some of the music that’s being played while she’s writing the stories Gabby and Yoichi story was well worth the wait and I hope we get a chance to hear more from them. And 800 year old Kitsune finally meets his fated mate. She try’s her best to avoid him, but Yoichi is bound and determined. I will come back and read this story again!

Yakuza adjacent

I gathered from the post notes that this book takes a supporting character from another series and focuses on him. I enjoyed it. I tend to avoid mobster, triad, mafia, yakuza, gang storylines because I feel like they get very cliché. This book was more about supernatural characters, one who happens to be involved with someone in the yakuza. Nothing about the yakuza appears in this book. If I did read the original series, I would think that this is a good side story to give more insight into this particular character. Spice level = 🌶️🌶️

Had potential but was disappointing

It was interesting in the beginning but fell short. No real storyline. I was hoping for more. I hated that MC never called FC by her name. Mate or mine or little witch. I couldn't find anything likeable about his character. The way he talked was a complete turn off. Him turning out to be 4 separate entities was so over the top. The scene with the beast was more like rape.
Bestiality 👎

I was so happy to read yoshis story! It was so good!!! Gabby had me laughing so much when he told her how much he wanted her and what he was going to do. I love that he wasn't scared of her curse. And that they wanted to help each other after all was said and done. Great read, great story and amazing all around. I hope Kenya brings us more fangs and claws story's.

Another one for your reading pleasure!

This was an excellent read but I expect no less from K.W. I enjoyed this just like I do her other books, she pulls you right in. I went through this so fast that I feel like I’m missing something. I needed this to be longer and now I have to go re- read The Dragon series again because I need a fix.

Generational curse & love

I enjoyed the novel. The chemistry between Gabby and Yoichi was good. I liked hearing the backstory of each of their curses and how important magic, culture and history was to their relationship. I didn't like the end but maybe we'll see this dynamic magic duo in another story.

Beautiful scenery

I loved the playlist with the reading and the visuals. This needed a better ending...a longer book for sure. Also the title is but misleading. My favorite part was the chase, the build up over time. I need more from these two.
