Lustful Revulsion
Reagan "Red" Levine is known by every student at St. Rivington Park sixth form as nothing more than a troublemaker. From classroom chaos by day to a dangerous life after dark, Red has built a reputation nobody dares to question.
But beneath the rumours lies a girl hiding secrets too dangerous to reveal.
Layla Elsher has everything Red can't tolerate-wealth, popularity, and the admiration of everyone around her. Excelling in all of her studies with a pretty face gets her far.
Yet under her perfect image is a girl desperate to hold onto the status she's built.
Seven years of spite. Endless arguments. A rivalry neither of them has ever been willing to end.
One party changes everything. And their worlds begin to collide. Red finds herself protecting the one person she's spent years hating. And Layla refuses to walk away from the secrets Red is determined to hide.
Because the closer they get, the harder it becomes to pretend they don't matter to each other.
"Brown meets green."

About the author
S.S. August
1 book5 followersS.S. August is a twenty-year-old independent author who has always found home in words.
Having grown up moving from place to place, and with English as her third language, writing became a way to make sense of experiences that were sometimes difficult to put into words. What began as poetry written for a first love eventually became something more: stories built to capture the depth of life, and to make both the writer and the reader feel a little less alone.
S.S. August is drawn to morally grey characters, complicated relationships, messy endings, and stories that don’t pretend life is simple. Her writing explores trauma, healing, love, and the ways people can change one another—even when they were never meant to be saved.
Her debut novel, Lustful Revulsion, is a story about how, even in the darkest times, love can mend a person who was made to be broken.
Outside of writing, she can usually be found with music playing, a guitar or piano nearby, another book she absolutely did not need, or somewhere deep inside an elaborate maladaptive daydream. She has a particular fascination with Greek mythology and a deep desire to better understand and represent the way neurodivergent minds experience the world.
Above all, S.S. August writes for anyone who has ever needed to be reminded: you are not alone🤍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I genuinely don’t even know how to put into words what Lustful Revolution by S.S. August did to me. This book was devastatingly beautiful. I cried, I hurt, I hoped, and somehow I still wasn’t prepared for how deeply this story would affect me.
The emotions in this book felt so raw and real. There were moments that absolutely broke my heart, but they were written so beautifully that I couldn’t stop reading. I became completely invested in the characters and everything they were going through.
By the time I finished, I just sat there thinking about everything I had read. It’s one of those books that leaves you emotionally wrecked but also incredibly grateful that you experienced the story.
Absolutely amazing. Heartbreaking, beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable. S.S. August, you made me CRY, and I loved every second of it.

Lustful Revulsion got me out of my reading slump, this book has you hooked from the minute you read the first page. The author has done such a good job at not rushing any ounce of the book, including the development of the characters and the romance itself. Both Red and Layla are very misunderstood characters and to see them find understanding in each other is amazing. The author has also done such a good job at writing the characters (As well as but aside from Red and Layla), for example Nick (Reds best friend) is my favourite character in the whole book, this is because the writer gives you a chance to understand and get to know him, along with his and reds dynamic. This is the same for other main/side Characters. Overall, this is a beautifully written and developed book with a deepness i haven’t seen before. When brown meets green!!!

I really enjoyed the way August wrote this book, in the beginning the shorter paragraphs were a bit odd but it set a sort of pace for the book and the characters within it. I love love loved the little interactions written with the mc's eyes and the emotions behind them. This book deals with a heavy subject so please do read your trigger warnings! It is easy to fall in love with the characters, even if they are snarky. I teared up in several parts of the book, both for the love and the hatred of everything going on in the pages. Red is such a heartbreaking character but she is so easy to understand and love. I can't wait for the next book!

Ok, actually enjoyed this v much. BUT the ending makes me go, girl please. This def could have been a REALLY good stand alone, but it’s being stretched out into more, which I’m like where are all these characters going now but otherwise I liked it, read it in one day 😭. Write more ms august, good job.

the worst ending…..ever
I can handle cliffhangers. But what in the actual f~<%ing hell was that. The actual worst way to end a novel that was already drawn out.
