Twisted Destiny: The Awakening

Rate this book
*Twisted Destiny* began with a simple what would you do if the world you trusted turned against you? From that question grew a story about ordinary people finding extraordinary courage when the cost of doing nothing became higher than the cost of risking everything.
I have always believed that the best fantasy does not escape from reality so much as it refracts it, the way light bends through crystal. The struggle of hybrids and humans to find common ground echoes real struggles that have played out across human history. The brotherhood’s journey from desperation to democratic governance mirrors the hard-won progress of communities around the world who have dared to imagine a more just society and then fought to make it real.
Lukas and Fenris were born from the same what happens to love when it is broken by forces beyond control? One brother chose duty, the other chose vengeance. Both had to learn that the path forward was never about choosing between justice and mercy, but about finding the courage to hold both at once.
The magic in this world — the windstep, the chimera’s transformation, the Wolf-God’s watchful presence — is not meant to distract from the human story but to illuminate it. The Discord that threatens Aethoria is not so different from the divisions that threaten our own world. The courage to bridge those divisions, to reach across the void and find common ground, is the truest magic I know.
If you found something in these pages that moved you, challenged you, or gave you hope, then the story has done what I hoped it would do. The questions about justice and community that Lukas and Fenris wrestled with are not easily answered. But they are questions worth asking, and asking them together is how we begin to build something better.
