This first chapters in this volume throw you around with more questions and misunderstandings than I could keep up with. This eerie feeling of confusion and mystery starts to unravel in the last few chapters as some of these questions are answered. However, this writing and plot style is making it hard for me to grow to the characters, as I really am still trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

The mystery deepens, the main character's two companions develop, and people in the town start to disappear. A mysterious young man appears, intent on attacking the main character. Who is he? What are his intentions? Once again, I found myself drawn the beautiful artwork and the exquisite menace of this contemporary fantasy of the speculative and the strange.

So this volume seems to have given more background and explained things more, but I am still as little confused with the story. However I do think I will continue.
I do enjoy the graphics and the characters and am curious where the story will go.

Yue and his new friends are investigating the mystery of a missing kindergarten principal, who has been 'spirited away', or rather, eaten by an ayakashi.

This volume continues from volume 1, with Yue trying to be friends with two humans, even as he knows that one of them will have to be his 'meal' at some point. He doesn't seem to completely understand this, but it is eventually clear that he understands well enough, but is still willing to befriend the two teens.

Later in the volume we see a mysterious man claiming that Yue has his body, and learn that Yue is more than he at first seems.

An interesting, if slightly confusing volume in the series. I look forward to volume 3.
