DENSE CLOUDS

Rate this book
Dense Clouds is a poignant tapestry of human lives, woven from moments of longing, love, guilt, loss, and quiet redemption. Gul Bahar Singh looks closely at the ordinary and discovers within it the extraordinary—the wounds we carry, the choices that haunt us, and the fragile acts of kindness that restore our faith in humanity. These stories move through the shadows of everyday existence, where darkness is never absolute and even the heaviest clouds hold the possibility of light.

Author Gul Bahar Singh is a well known Bollywood filmmaker of national and international repute, having wielded megaphone for the films involving Bollywood biggies like Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna,Irfan, and many others. He is an intellectual with a creative mind who emphasizes on quality above anything else.
Recently he has published a collection of short stories 'Dense Clouds'. The book has twenty stories all outshining each other, but I particularly liked 'Kargil' and 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. He has modern approach to storytelling where his characters are authentic, the milieu is realistic, and the ending is not always as expected. In his stories, he has covered a host of modern day issues like digital arrest, dowry demands, husband not able to meet medical expenses on wife's treatment, can a wife donate her kidney without her husband's consent and the like in a way that touches readers' heart and leaves very strong messages.
To sum it up, I can say that Gul Bahar Singh proves the saying that all great directors are great writers too as they have imagination and the capabilities to narrate the products of their imagination.
Overall an excellent read.
