It was a very good erotica read, with a simple but engaging plot, predictable, yet adequately emotional. Overall, this trilogy could have been collected in one book. There was no background information for neither of the main characters as to have a more detailed profile of them.
I have loved this trilogy. Rachel thought it was over when Blaine announced their engagement in front of Dylan. Dylan said some pretty awful things. Rachel flew out to LA to explain. She just could not live unless she told Dylan the truth. Dylan offered to support her and she would be a groupie but Rachel could not change one loveless relationship for another.
Finally Rachel called it off with Blaine. He told her she would never work again effective now. Rachel started packing because she couldn't afford her apartment. She bought a ticket for LA but there was a knock on the door. Dylan wanted to tell her the truth.
Fantastic ending, wish there was more...a hot finale to the tangeled affair of two musicians, with a passionate, steamy, hot, & sexy entanglement. After the incredible cliffhanger in book 2, leaving you screaming this was a intoxicating story filled with heart capturing love story that leaves you breathless. I only wish we had more, more regarding her family, more with her bff, more of their fun & thrilling life & more of their musical enchanted passions. This story could become a inspirational number one, top series, with the spellbinding, raw & addictive power. Blaise is a "badass" new author with "amazeballs" creativity, spark, true soulful passionate writing & is now a huge favorite of mine.
Woo! This series is just awesome! I loved every minute of it.
I couldn’t wait to get more Rachel & Dylan and I completely devoured this book! Their chemistry is off the charts and I love how the story came together. Filled with intensity and anticipation, this thrilling conclusion to their story is terrific!
I love the writing and how easy the author makes you fall in love with the characters. I can’t wait for more from Rae Lynn Blaise!!
Perfect ending to a fantastic story!
“If our touches could talk, poetry would be filling the air.”
YES, YES, YES!!!!! OMG was so excited for this book to be released and gobbled it up as fast as I possibly could! My heart is so so so happy right now. This story between the 3 books is just perfect! I want so much more out of Dylan and Rachel and really really hope there will be. Am definitely a fan of this author now and will be watching for anything she writes. Highly recommended these reads!
At last I got my badass, dirty talking teal eyed rockstar back. I was so excited for this book after I was left hanging in the 2nd book. Its amazingly hot and too much short for my liking. The HEA I loved but I wanted more of it. Still I loved Dylan and Rachel's chemistry and everything. Hoping its not the end yet.
I gotta say, personally, I like the 2nd one better than the others. But I like the whole story quite a lot. Sweet and steamy. A nice and quick read. 4 stars for this one.
I loved that Rachel becomes the badass in book three and takes control of her life because she deserves more than she's gotten from the men in her life!
After the ending of the previous book everything has fallen apart, Rachel realises she needs to be honest with Dylan before she settles into the life she's made for herself. Life without Dylan has lost its colour and it's more a case of existing unless she's losing herself in music. The question is having tasted life and love can Rachel settle for less and what about Dylan is he ready to move on? This is a beautiful read and a good conclusion to the story but, I know there's always a but, it felt rushed at the end, I wanted more even just a few more pages would have made a big difference. I had to say I'm not a fan of what is essentially one book broken up into smaller sections but since all the sections were available and all on KU it didn't matter but I don't honestly think I would have read this otherwise.
Oh God, I freaking love Dylan St. John. Sexy, sweet, dirty-mouthed, badass Dylan. This book made me want to smack Rachel for wanting to choose her career over Dylan. But in the end, I couldn't hate her. She's such a loveable character. I'm so sad this series is over! I'm still interested in knowing what her dad thought, as well as Alex. But overall, I loved this series....and Dylan.
BADASS IN MY BED # 3 is the conclusion of this serial novella and what a great end to the series it was. Rachel's secret is out and Dylan reacts exactly as I suspect anyone would at the betrayal. His hurt, his sadness, his anger, his frustration, all of it drew me in. I don't blame him at all for the things he said to Rachel; he was deeply hurt and wanted to hurt her as much as she had hurt him. I loved him and he was definitely the best part of this book.
I never had a problem with Rachel until this final part. When her secret is revealed in front of Dylan, she can't stand the thought of him hating her, so she chases him, calls him and emails him in the hopes that she can explain things so that he won't hate her. But she can't tell him the truth, so all that chasing, calling and emailing was utterly useless and annoyed the hell out of me. What she was willing to do to achieve her dreams was terrible, and I can't decide if she agreed because she was silly or selfish. I'm glad she finally realised that the only person she needed to please was herself, that making decisions about her life for the approval and benefit of others was stupid and not worth it. She ended up making the right choice and it worked out very well for her in the end.
I've given each novella in this series 4 Hearts, but there are a couple of things that I have an issue with. Rachel's father is the main reason why she's worked so hard to get to where she was aiming for. She's apparently out to please a man that simply cannot be pleased and everything she does is never good enough. For someone that seemed to have so much influence over her, I was very surprised that he never made an appearance. It's hard to relate to her motivation or feel sorry for her when you never see how badly she's treated. The only other issue I have with the series is the price. I know that an author needs to make money, but all three novellas in the series currently cost a total of $6.97, which in my personal opinion is too much given the overall length of the story. If I didn't have access to Kindle Unlimited I probably would have avoided this series and I wonder how many other people are missing out on a good story just because of the price.
Ok, so we know that the cliffhanger from book 2 didn't just leave you hanging, it left you with one hand hanging from the cliff while your fingers were slipping away. It was fucking brutal. So, going into book 3, I expected a damn good reason for the Great Marriage Announcement. Spoiler Alert: I didn't quite get the explanation that I craved. There is definitely an explanation - and it makes sense in so far as these things go - but for a book that actually seemed grounded in Not Crazy Land, the explanation seemed antiquated and unrealistic.
Rachel. Jesus. Fuck. Rachel. For such a smart and talented girl, I was wondering how it all went wrong. I just didn't get her in this book. She runs to Dylan to explain, but then chokes and doesn't explain. YOU KILL ME RACHEL. *smh*
BUT. BUT. BUT. Dylan saved book 3 for me. He is EVERYTHING: the passion pours off of him. The love he has for Rachel is pure and the sex that they have is obscenely hot. This series is absolutely worth it for Dylan St. John all by himself. This man can play me all night long - Blaise captures the perfect blend of badass rocker with sentimental sweetheart in Dylan. He most certainly delivers in this final installment of the series.
Overall, I'm happy with the ending - even though I wasn't in love with how we got there. This series is an amazing debut from an incredibly talented writer. Hot and sexy, I was hooked. I'm Looking forward to what's next from Rae Lynn!
This is the third and final in a 3 part series - basically 3 novellas that could have been combined into one book. I really enjoyed the first two, hated the cliffhanger in the second because that ending sucked, but could not wait for the 3rd. I was all in. This book was ok but not nearly as good IMHO as the first two. It's a free Kindle Unlimited read so that was good.
My major issue with this book is the resolution to the conflict felt rushed. Maybe because the book is so short? The cliffhanger from book 2 was discussed, there was conflict, but the resolution for such a big issue felt too easy and too quick. I was jet lagged so I was convinced I missed a chapter or two. Unfortunately not. I'd read more from this author but I'd hope for a longer book instead of novellas.
So happy to wake up to find this waiting for me this morning! Great final installment. It had all the elements I love in a book. And after the cliffhanger in book two, I desperately needed to know how it would all end. Loved Dylan and Rachel and how everything fell into place for them. I will miss then.
Quick, well thought out novella about cellist Rachel who is trapped by a contract to act as a beard for her gay orchestra director in exchange for a place in the orchestra. She has fallen for rock star Dylan who she met before moving to Boston to start her new job. She has to work out if her dream job she has spent years working to achieve is worth losing the man she loves.
I really enjoyed this series, I mean who wouldn't want to be wanted by an extremely hot rock star? I was glad that Rachel was able to explain to Dylan and that they were able to get past all their secrets and be happy together!
Well, I am glad the book ended the way it did. I was ready to female dog slap Rachael. I wanted to scream at her. What a horrible woman. Gave it 5 stars because it was fun to read.
Dylan St. John, where can I get one?! After the last novella's heartbreaking cliffhanger, Rachel Simmons was my least favourite person, and the least of all worthy of that fine rock star specimen. I freakin loved this series!
The conclusion to this delightful story was perfect. This 3 book story is not overly long but has well developed characters and a great storyline. Really enjoyed it!
Goes down as another off my 2016 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – The Third book in a series. So we finally find out what deal Rachel made to get into the symphony. Agreeing to marry the director Blaine. The look on Dylan’s face is just heartbreaking. After making a grand gesture of turning up at an event he knew she’d be bored at, leaving one of his own, you wouldn’t think anything could be so cruel.
Rachel is beyond torn. The moment she sees Dylan she is hit with the realisation that she is in love with him and then its like a train wreck happening in slow motion around her with what’s to come. She has made her bed and now she must lie in it, even if it kills her a little inside.
The thought that she has hurt Dylan makes her go after him after Blaine revealed their engagement. When they are face to face he demands answers to which she can only give part truths for. Dylan leaves in a cloud of hurt and anger and Rachel leaves with a broken soul. She knows she need to tell him the truth but doesn’t know where to start. Its not until she calls her friend Alex in broken tears that we find out she signed a contract forbidding her from speaking about the terms of it.
Love her friend Alex’s sharp tongue though when she starts laying into Blaine’s actions. He completely manipulated Rachel with getting her to agree to marry him and when you find out the other clauses you will want to punch him in the face for getting her to sign. Rachel tries to convince her friend that it’s as much her fault for signing, as it is his. At the time she would have done just about anything to get into the symphony. If for no other reason than just to make her good for nothing father happy – talk about daddy issues.
Rachel resolves to telling Dylan the truth, whether he wants to hear it or not, so goes out to his place in LA to confront him. Which she only found by stalking the net; her sleuth skills are improving. She is confronted though by a very angry Dylan, who does everything in his power to make her feel small and insignificant in his presence. Just as she is about to run out the door though he slams it shut pinning her between it and him. You can feel the sexual tension rushing off him towards her. He tried to force himself from her by leaving but they are like magnets – they will always have a pull towards each other.
Angry sex in book two was hot but holy hell this is so much hotter. He first off doesn’t care about the reason she is there; he just has to have her. After the hot angry sex though, which Rachel can’t decide if she likes more or not than their usually sexual antics, she tells him everything. He can’t believe she would think so little of herself to get roped into a situation like that. His first plan of action to help is to take her away from it all. Rachel is beyond tempted by his offer and if only he had told her he loved her then she would have. Instead it ends with them making love as part of a goodbye. Trying to memorise every last detail of each other before she goes back to the deal she made with the devil.
Which is the part where one bit of writing that stood out for me:
Nothing about this is sex. We’re making love. If our touches could talk, poetry would be filling the air. Mine and his. A thousand beautiful words live in his eyes, even if his lips are silent.
You are willing Dylan to step up and admit how he really feels and also for Rachel to figure out what she really wants. Dylan does tend to do romantic gestures with his music though. They both do in a way. They express themselves through their melodies and tell the other just what they are thinking and feeling when there lips stay quite. Rachel has a choice to make about how she wants her life to be. Regrets are something that both her and Dylan share and they have to overcome them if they want their true HEA.
The connection between Dylan and Rachel has been great throughout the whole series. A simple twist of fate changed their lives for the better. I am so glad that Rachel wanted to have a wild send off in Chicago because that ended up being the true start to the rest of her lust filled life with her badass rocker Dylan.
OH MY GOSH..!!!
Ya ya ya.. terdengar standard an klise kan?
1,75 stars i'm so disgusted right now. the whole "i'll marry this man i don't love because i need my father approval" i understand even if i disagree i actually understand when you are under someone expectation. BUT adding a CHILD into the mix? and doing it on purpose (signing willingly with no coertion) to have a child to make the marriage real... yeah no that's not acceptable and pretty horrible for the child. Also waiting on Dylan to say he loves her to really make things changing and not for herself... AND the fact that it's almost Dylan's fault if she continue with the mascarade when he doesn't say he loves her right away (after everything it's normal for him DUH) Now imagine the role were different ... yeah a lot of people wouldn't be so eager to say "poor rachel i'm so happy she gets her happy end" especially when everything is made like she's the victim when she's the one who initiate the encounters with Dylan and don't have a real explanation to why she purposely lied to him. Now i really i'm not that "mean" with characters or books but here the only word for Rachel is bitch. especially when she says herself that she is about music and hate the smoochiness. especially when she can have other opportunity but doesn't even try. i'm so disgusted right now.
Book 2 cliffhanger was a killer. Dylan does the most romantic thing, but it brings Rachel to her knees in a way he wasn't expecting. When Dylan learns of Rachel's secret it seems all is lost and my world came crashing down with Rachel's. This is a story about facing what life throws at you, listening to your heart and going after what you want, regardless of the consequences. Rae Lynn has a way that makes her characters dance across the page and I felt every bit of their journey through this series. This is one I highly recommend and I will be one clicking everything she brings out in the future.
