Sometimes running away seems like the only choice…Wanting to escape a disappointing career and memories of a bad marriage, Katie Murphy moved half a state away for a new job. No, working at the Double M dude ranch wasn't the executive chef position she'd trained for, but it had its rewards. The animals were cute and her co-workers were great. She just wished her boss wasn't as nice as he was sexy.He had the life others dreamed of…Josh Madigan worked hard to make the Double M a success. He wasn't quite there, but it was finally within reach. His late father's dream was about to become a reality. He just wasn't sure whether it was his dream. And if it wasn't, could he walk away with so many people depending on him for their livelihood—including his pretty new cook?

All it took was the encouragement of a student teacher in a ninth grade writing class and Kristy K. James was off and running. She has been writing for more years than she’ll ever admit to, and loves every aspect of it. From creating characters who are so real that they sometimes take over the writing when they don’t like where she’s taking a story, to adding as many twists and mysteries to her plots as she can get away with.

She is the author of Reluctant Guardian, A Fine Mess, and The Stranger in my Head.

Kristy currently lives in Michigan with her family, too many pets and the occasional spider. She spends her time living in her make-believe worlds, cooking and baking up a storm, and doing her best to learn to say ‘no’ when stray animals wander into her large country yard.

Reading is one of her favorite pastimes, as is traveling around the state, especially to coastal beaches to enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and gulls screeching overhead.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Josh is the first book in Kristy's new Western romance series The Men from the Double M. If you are a fan of clean, sweet romance you will enjoy this book. If you read her Coach's Boys series I think you will really like this new series and a glimpse or two of some old friends!

Josh is doing his best to run his Dude Ranch, corral his wayward niece and make sure he's doing right by his employees. He's not looking for love, just reliable help that won't take off for greener pastures every time he turns around. Katie's just getting over a bad marriage and just wants a fresh start. Maybe they have just what the other needs.

Between obnoxious teenagers, bad weather and conniving ex husbands things are not going to be smooth sailing for Josh and Katie. You'll have to read the box yourself to see if they get their HEA.

This story has sexy cowboys with manners and cute baby goats, everything you need for a great western romance.

There are no sex scenes or cursing in this book.

Kristy has become an instant buy for me. Her books are full of humor and hope. Josh is the perfect beginning to another new series. We get to see a couple of familiar faces from her "Coach's Boys" series but all the new characters are wonderful. I loved all the side characters. They added lots of dimension to the story without crowding out the main H/h. I loved that Josh was willing to seek advice and give everything his best effort. Katie has a wonderful determination to make her life happy. I liked her confidence and kindness.
