Magic can be deadly in the wrong hands, but love can be even deadlier in the right ones. Knight Games Book 5 Logan Valentine has had enough of the supernatural. The sexy human chef wants nothing to do with witches after the one he thought he loved used magic to manipulate him. Too bad he can't get enigmatic witch, Polina, out of his head. She's starring in his hottest dreams, and showing up in places she's impossible to ignore. Although the attraction between them is electric, he vows to keep his focus on running his restaurant where it belongs. For centuries, immortal witch Polina has considered cross-species romances doomed from the start and for good reason. The most painful event of her past was due to a human. She hates herself for fantasizing about Logan, but can't shake the human's hold over her. As her thoughts border on obsession, she becomes desperate to cure herself of her rogue desires using any means possible, including magic. But when a werewolf is murdered behind Logan's restaurant, Polina is caught in the crosshairs of two rival werewolf packs. Only Logan can save her--if he's willing to risk his heart again. Logan and Polina are perfect for each other. I loved delving back into this world! I really enjoyed seeing Polina's domain and how she patrols. She is a witch but she is so different than Grateful and how Polina uses her element and of course her familiar Hildie. We know a fair amount about Logan but what was a surprise was that Polina and he have a history I won't say what but wow! They both have reasons why they fight the attraction they have for each other but love wins with a twist! The one thing absolutely love about these books is that the characters get their happy endings and not just a little one they get a great one which makes me happy. We also get a glimpse of the werewolves which is what the next series is going to focus on. I for one cannot wait! While I wait for that I am going to this book again...... and again!!!!
This was an absolute wonderful story! I loved it! Logan and Polina are awesome characters and I loved the supporting cast! Their story was a page turner!!
I had to read Logan and Polina’s story. It was obvious they were deeply attracted to each other while they assisted Grateful and Rick. Rick is still filled with bitterness about the way he is jerked around by witches. He and Grateful are still friend but he smarts from Polina’s always bad mouthing humans. Now Polina’s has some issues that are escalating and Rick is a medium who can assist her. Their lack of communications is clear as they continually misunderstand each other and situations until it comes to the crucial head, will Logan and Polina’s save themselves?
The only thing I'm disappointed with is that it ended, but there's nothing wrong with reading the series again right? I'd love to see the author come out with some fae books especially about the Dragon fae, and to see how little Lucas plays out. Could not stop reading as usually. Another great installment to the series.
I really hope Ms. Jack decides to continue this series. I think Lucas could make for a really interesting line to pursue. Great development of characters as I like Grateful and Rick as well as our new pair of witch and caretaker. I recommend this series to anyone who likes the genre of the supernatural science fiction.
There were many times the author alluded to the previous story- as if that would answer our questions. Annoying. This book was a lot of fun though and I really enjoyed the plot.
I was surpise how much I really liked this book. The story didn't go any way I thought it would. So good. Was happy with how everything turned around and the ending. Well that was awesome.
Genevieve Jack has done it again with Logan: A Knight World Novel. The character Logan Valentine has appeared in all of the Knight Games books. A fabulous character who now has a story of his own. Though he and other characters are from the previous books, they do not need to be read to enjoy this story. Though I feel after you have read this you will want to read them if you haven't already. Logan has had enough of witches from his past that he doesn't want anymore in his life. He can't understand this attraction to the witch Polina Innes, who feels all humans are beneath her. Or that is what he thinks. Polina is struggling with her own attraction to Logan, realizing she touched his soul in the past and it is just residual magic. Yet he is always on her mind and her past has already taught her the misfortunes to loving a human. When Polina takes a positivity potion to attract her perfect match and end her yearning for Logan, it leads her to his door. Will Logan and Polina have a love story after all? Also at this time werewolves are being murdered and Polina has a rapidly growing werewolf clan to deal with on her property. A fantastic read. Genevieve Jack writes her characters so well, you feel as if you know them and her descriptions make you feel like you are right there with them. I loved this story and was sad when I had to put it down to sleep and work and even sadder when it was over because it was such a joy to read.
This new entry into the Knight World books is a welcome addition as it not only focuses on the new characters but adds several new characters into the mix including a 3 legged cat, a pack of werewolves, Gargoyles and some of the people from the restaurant that Logan runs. Most of them play an important part in the story that unfolds in this brief novel but it's the two main protagonists that we all care about and they are both strong. Logan appeared in the first four novels and here he doesn't seem as confused or lost as before. We spend more time with him and see his every day life and he no longer is the victim needing rescuing - or not always - but it's the character of Polina that holds it all together. She's a different type of witch to Grateful. She has a much deeper understanding of both her magic and her duties as a Hecate and the reader benefits because of this. Seeing her traveling through her realm and interacting with the Gargoyles was a joy and as a character she is the more memorable of the two. Also the authors writing can not be understated. Her use of dialog and the interaction between the characters is enviable and the brief, intense chapters kept me turning the page. My only issue with the book is that it focused more on the romantic side of the genre than it did the paranormal and that is not my cup of tea but it is still a great book and the wealth of characters and Genevieve Jacks marvelous writing will disappoint no-one.
As a huge fan of The Knight games, I was so excited to see that Genevieve Jack continued with this world but shifted the focus. Genevieve and Rick and the other characters are back, but this is about Logan and Polina. I was so happy that Logan got his own story. Although he definitely wasn't the one for Grateful, I fell for this sexy chef. Genevieve has created a wonderful world of supernaturals and I particularly love her witches. Polina is a fiercely independent witch. A worthy lead female. There is instant attraction with Logan, but not insta-love. I love when characters fight what is meant to be; makes it so much better when they finally come around. This is a well-written, nicely paced book with a couple twists you won't see coming. Highly entertaining. Makes you want more; more from these characters, more about the newly introduced characters, more of this story world!
Logan is an amazing book to read it can be a stand alone if you want it to, but I would suggest that you read the previous books. I would suggest getting the 4 books set which I bought , at the time I purchased them I think I bought them for $0.99 and that was great, ANYWAYS, while I will not give away any spoiler alerts, this book is absolutely wonderful, I LOVED Logan and Polina in this book along with some of the characters from the previous books ...
Again Ms Jack has outdone herself, I hope to read some more of her books in this series, hope r read about Julius maybe ... hint hint... lol I definitely recommend all the books from this series 1-5
Once again a wonderful story from Genevieve Jack with A Knight World Novel: Logan. This book can be read even if you have not read the Knights Game series even though Logan Valentine was in them all. But I do recommend you read them as well. Logan was a strong character in the Knights Game series so it is great that he gets his own book, but all the old characters are back in this book, which makes it such a great read.. I love the mix of fae, witch and warewolf and now two caretakers yummy!. Once again a really great read, wonderful storyline.
This book is about Logan's life. After everything that he has learned since waking up from a coma. He is very leery about spending time with the supernatural community. Lo and behold he starts falling in love with a witch, even after swearing off all witches. Sometimes Fate has something else in store for you. Logan has a big choice ahead of him that will change his whole life.
This was just as wonderful as the other ones. I love the characters they are great. Hope that there will be more. Thank you for such great books Genevieve Jack. Deborah
This is a spin-off from the Grateful Knight series, spoken from Logan's point of view as well as Polina. This was a nice addition to the series so that we can see what happens after Grateful and Rick got their happily ever after. It was a great to see Polina thoughts of her inner turmoil towards Logan. Can't wait to read the next one.
So happy to see Logan got a story of his own. This one was well worth the wait! He was one of my favorite characters in the series from the very beginning. Oh, the feels!
This book is so good! After dealing with Logan since book 1 and seeing him blossom into a full blooded character I was glad to see he got his own book and storyline.
