Noah Andersen has built his successful company from the ground up. He isn’t thrilled to be the current home away from home for a team of auditors trying to ferret out evidence to back up the anonymous tip received pointing directly his way. Noah knows exactly where the tip came from. And now that he’s got his sister safely ensconced with their aunt he’s ready to take on the person responsible. Her husband. But if he turns his brother-in-law over to the authorities it’s very likely an innocent bystander will bear the brunt of the damage. Is it in him to exact his revenge on one family member at the cost of another?

I fell in love with books when I was in the 4th grade and my free period was spent volunteering in the school library. I read every Nancy Drew book there was to check out, discovered collections of myths and fairy tales from around the world, Louisa May Alcott and C.S. Lewis, and decided I wanted my own library. By the end of that summer with the supplies our school librarian graciously provided me my books had due date slips, card pockets, book cards, and black electrical tape on the spine with the first three letters of the author's last name. I still have most of those books.
In the hope she could get me involved in something else my mother gave me a camera. Right around the same time my father told me I could use his typewriter when he wasn't using it. The typewriter won. We shared his typewriter but I also filled notebooks with stories scribbled before school, after school, and often when I was supposed to be asleep. Thanks to my mother, who saved just about every single one of those notebooks, I still have them as well.
Several years ago my father gave me his typewriter…the same one we shared all those summers ago. Every time I look at it I remember the young 4th grade girl who was quietly encouraged to do what she loved…and years later reminded with a box filled with notebooks crammed full of handwritten stories and dreams.
And it’s still not unheard of that I stay up way later than I should with a good book that’s just impossible to put down.

A little torn

This book fills in a little more back ground on characters within the family and sets the scene for various possible plot twists going forward, which works to keep you invested in both the family and the plot.
However, this is a family story told across a number of novellas, five or six chapters at a time, with ongoing plotlines being added to with each book...absolutely no problem with this, especially as the whole series are available on Kindle Unlimited. I do however find it a little frustrating that this book ends at 74%....it is already a novella, but it finishes on page 34...the remaining 26% is previews....grrrr, I really hate this, I don't want previews...if I like the author I will look for and buy more of their books anyway. I want to be reaching at least 90% before getting anywhere close to the end of a book. This won't stop me downloading the next book on Kindle Unlimited, but as I said a little frustrating.

A solid continuation of the saga. Noah and Patrick continue to work to protect their family against the machinations of their brother-in-law, Matt. It feels like the Andersens are almost as messed up as my family. It gives a sense of acceptance to such situations while, at the same time, working to improve things.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Haunting. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Continuing

The saga continues and leaves us wondering what else Matt is hiding. We do not know what was in the email or why Claire left.
We must continue to read the next novella
