I imagined the awakenings going WAY differently lol! I'm still trash for anytime Mutsuki gets some backstory time.

So we're finally starting to understand things a bit more. This plot's all over the place, I have absolutely no clue where on earth this is going which I guess is a good thing because it's nice for things not to be too predictable. I'm too sleepy to actually make more of an effort on this review so it shall be short. On to Volume 6!

Oooo the awakenings are so cool! The art is lovely as always and I really like how the story is progressing!

What a packed volume!!
Not sure how much to say, but everything with the “fakes” has expanded so much! 😱
Also, we have awakenings on top of that?!
Honestly, seeing how Mitsuru is in this volume has me very concerned. I mean, obviously, he’s been a very two-faced (?) character if that’s the right word, but him taking what he did from Anise left me plain out alarmed! (And that’s on top of seeing the one room AND a mysterious person!) 😱
In my previous review of volume four, I mentioned I was afraid that Mutsuki would be the “Judas,” but I feel far from that now! He really does care for Anise, and I think their relationship can only grow from here!
With that, I really, really love Anise! She is such a fun and honest heroine who isn’t afraid to go to extreme lengths to protect her knights! That also includes people who have no one to protect them, because I felt her fear so much during the parade!
The maid/butler scene was a lot of fun, and I hope we get more crazy scenes like it!
Lastly, what an action-packed way for this volume to end! Thankful I have the next volume on hand!

This was so hard to get through, and I found myself asking why are you still reading this? Well it's because I really wanted to like it, BUT I am just over it. Anise just seems like a whiny baby, and Kaede is just an asshole. Yes he can become powerful, but ugh! Also the story is all over the place and is just confusing. I think it's safe to say I will not be finishing this anytime soon.

I'm just a sucker for the series at this point and am loving it.

Once again, stunning! I’m so glad to see some new enemies introduced and for 2 of our rose Knights to become reawakened!

Re-Read Review (October 16th, 2022):
*Warning, there will be spoilers*
How Shouoto is expanding this series' plot is pretty smart. I like the idea of Schwartz trying to one-up Anise's journey by creating fake Rose Warriors to get in the way of her goal. His true motives are still not entirely clear, but knowing that there are more out there makes for some unsettling scenes. As Anise and the Rose Kinghts get romantically closer (in some contexts), we're also discovering more about them and their feelings. Mitsuru's dedication to Anise leans into reverse harem comedy levels, yet there's also something sinister to it that makes me question the direction of the final volume. Was Shouoto building up to a reveal more than I realized?
While I did enjoy the story more with this re-read (the hidden rooms in the Tenjo mansion continue to remind me of some comedic anime gags), Shouoto's art lacked detail that's present in the previous volumes and The Demon Prince of Momochi House. It was consistently iffy all volume. Characters weren't drawn with as much eye to detail, or their expressions looked a little rough. I'm looking forward to where the back half of this series takes me. I didn't realize I'd remember more of the first half given the second half will likely be a little more memorable IMO.
First Read Review (January 18th, 2016):
This volume was packed with intrigue and the feels. I liked how Rhodecia isn't completely being regarded as enemies by Anise (their cameo was great this volume), and Mitsuru's mansion was a riot. I wouldn't want to live there; far too many rooms devoted to Anise or just weird stuff. The pinball with his face on it had me rolling. XD
I'm excited to see how the main conflict with the Fake Rose Knights gets developed later on. We're building up to a pretty intense final battle with what's going on right now, and I'm interested to see some more of Kaede's development. But once again, this series is getting to be one of my favorites of all time. Though this volume wasn't as good as the last three, it was still really good.

Great story
I am so drawn into this whole story I get excited thinking of the next adventure I love the mystery, romance, danger, and laugh out loud comedy. I could see this as a anime series on tv. I would totally watch it.

somewhat disappointed by the turn of events...
the developments between kaede and anise were AWESOME yes💖🔥 but everything else...was so eH that even kaede couldn't make up for it😭😭
i literally got freaked out by some of the scenes, and NOT in a good way. the author does try to play off the spooky aspects with humor and it sort of works? but still unpleasant.
i am like just binge reading this series though😂 4 volumes in one day seems...somewhat unhealthy😭 but on the bright side i am no longer behind on my reading challenge!😏
cw: certain scenes had very dark vibes, with demons and uh blood and all that... quite creepy really; also a lot more sexual innuendo than normal, including people literally pressing each other onto beds😂😭 (nothing happens tho and it's like totally brushed off later🤨)

Interesting plot in this volume and more great art. I absolutely love the cover.
If I had to pick one, I'd say Red Rose is my favorite character.
And it's hard to pick one.

Kaede you just need to tell Anise your feelings. I am rooting for you (even if I think Mutsuka is cuter!)
