With a life in shambles, and left with no alternative, Viola Swanson must return to the place that she doesn't want to go and see the last person she positively does not want to see.
Yet, when she comes face to face with Drake Millar all of her secret feelings come rushing back, uncovering a deep broody desire that she can barely admit to herself. But Drake is not alone; he has another taking up space in his heart, or so it seems.
Viola, however, is presented with an opportunity which she cannot refuse, that could solve all of her problems, help get her life back on track and give her a purpose she so desperately needs.
But there’s a catch. Taking the job means spending more torturous time with Drake.
The one person she can never have.

Ok, i'd been in a non stop hunt of romantic/contemporary books for a year and a half. I've been reading blogs recommendation books, random books, people list's books. Finish one and i start the next one. So i've read a lot of books some good ones some not so much, some terrible, some i couldn't even finish. first thing i discover is that people actually like this king of "incest" stepbrothers, stepfathers thing. Most of the ones i've read are literary porn. Not this one though it had sex and a little plot enough to entertain the story was short and Easily read.
But there were something that didnt do it for me. the heroine character was annoying, she was one of those people who always makes the worst decisions cause of stubbornness or simply because she is dumb. Couldn't tell really which one. I mean first time you sleep with a guy (doesnt matter he is your stepbrother or not) and she ask to get pregnant. What? She has no job, not a home, she is in debt with criminals, and she doesn't want the help of her family. Who in their right mind would want a baby like that? She later runs away instead of asking her father help she goes homeless living in a storage room in her work or something like that. You know what's Worse the guy who supposed to love her knew all along where and how she was living. Where is the love man? Right i forgot the guy was trying to rebuild his marriage he didn't have time to save the damsel in distress not until he realized his ex wife was a cheating b*tch. Men and their priorities. Hey but she was happy enough to be second. So who cares.

Okay, I initially one-clicked on this book as a joke because it was free and the tittle made me laugh and I wanted to share it with a friend but despite this terrible tittle, the story is not half-bad. It was actually well written enough although the writer is English so some of the words were odd being that I am most familiar with American English but the book had enough story in it to keep me reading.
The only thing that annoyed me really was how lightly getting pregnant and having a baby is talked about it. Like Vi simply declares she wants a baby and that's it. No discussion of any kind.
No, are you sure? Hey you are pretty much homeless, how are you going to care for this kid? Who is going to raise it?
It is not like she knows that baby-dad wants in the raising. She knows he is horny but that's about it. So this careless "I want a baby now because my mother never loved me and I need a family even though I don't have a pot to piss on" does bother me a lot. I think that writer have somewhat a responsibility with their public and how they influence them. Having babies just because is not a responsible thing to do. It is not a gold fish you can keep in a bowl and feed once a day and then ignore it.
So that aspect bothered me and the fact that Drake also thought it was an awesome idea to get the step-sister he had not seen in years pregnant the very first time they get together was okay, yeah, that's just not right.
Well sometime you gotta read some really bad book to appreciate good one. I really HATE the main girl... why? Who fucking know... oh... coz she is stupid... If you are EXTREMELY in debt and literally can't afford to live your life, GO SEEKS HELP! I like her better at the end of the book, but god damn this bitch made my blood boil... Okay so I'm a bit harsh on the heroine.. I have read way dumber heroine.. but I just didn't have a particularly good day when reading this book, so the feeling carry over I guess.
This book was incredible. Very well written. Vi and drake ugh those to pining over one another for years and years. Then there parents get married and then having to go through tht. Then finally they get there chance to be together. Vi becomes his nanny to his daughter which he had with his ex from highschool and married. She left them and abandon them. The first night she started working for him he came home at 3 in the morning and was a little tipsy. They made love and finally told each other how they felt about each other all these years. Perfect night for both of them. Then the next morning his stupid ex comes crashing back into his life saying she wants them back. He tells vi he has to try for his daughter. Vi follows Christine and finds her in another mans arms. She doesn’t tell drake. She wants him to choose her bc he wants to not bc she tells him bad news. So she doesn’t tell him but Vi leaves bc she can’t stand to look at them together. A month later she finds out she is pregnant. And goes and tells him and when he sees her he kisses her and she tells him he can’t have it both ways. And he over takes her with emotion tht she goes in for the kiss to and she get her shirt off when his stupid ex comes in his office and interrupts again. Ugh. He tells her it’s over tht her lover and her can leave. So I’m the end she adopts Christine baby and drake and her go and have there baby.
Worst book in a long time: emotionally unstable, cheating, too stupid to live their life main characters. Will red flag the author on principle for throwing children and "I have nothing but please get me pregnant" parts into it! I was expecting a fast, slightly shallow romantic or erotic read and you get a train wreck of self doubt, misery, self inflicted drama, without the chance to get to like anyone first... No redeeming features, non at all!
This book was horrible, they first kissed in high school and he said he wanted her ever since but stayed with his horrid girlfriend til just few months before start of book (then they had sex for first time and just a few hours later dumped her and got back with his wife the mother of his daughter). Heroine left for a month during which he was living with his newly reconciled wife (almost a guarantee that they were sleeping together). Then heroine finds out she's pregnant and goes to him where he just barely realized his wife was cheating on him. Not a fan at all of heroine that she would just immediately jump back in with him after he treated he dumped her. I'm not a fan that he had a daughter with another woman other than heroine. P.
Also after he dumped heroine he begged her to stay and live with him and his wife to watch his daughter. So messed up. She left and luckily wasn't that big of a doormat however she never made him apologize or anything at all and just started to have sex again in his office.

If you like reading romance books don't expect to see a hero/heroine talking about abortion. Abortion is murder it's not something a good person would do. I love the fact that the heroine choses to give birth to her baby despite her circumstances, that's the reason I read this books to see love on it's true form...
It was a quick, okay, fun read. Some things are a little strange (she asks him to get her pregnant the first time they are together and then she is surprised to find out when she is pregnant).
I listened to this audio book while I was at work. It kept me entertained. I would recommend it if you like the step-romance trope.
Wow, this story was bittersweet and sentimental. I found myself devouring each word and sentence. I don't know if I could handle having to be that strong as to handle everything going on.

I was hesitant with this book, step family romances are normally not my thing. This one proved different. The history of Drake and Viola in some way to me made it OK. Viola's dad and Drake's mom are married making Drake and Viola step siblings. Before their parents were married, Viola knew Drake in school and always had a crush on him. Forward years later, Viola finds herself in trouble and goes home on her stepmother's 50th birthday to find Drake with his baby daughter. Drake's reaction to his baby melted me at the start...fell for him right away. Viola becomes his nanny and the first night they sleep together. The past comes to haunt a Drake causing Viola to leave and she finds out she's pregnant. Through their problems, trust issues and the fact that they are related, this story has twists and turns. It is enjoyable and they get their HEA.
NIcki Gallo does a good job portraying this book, she is a good fit for the story.
First I have to say I like that we get right in to the story, no intro's just the story starts right up. At first I thought oh no it’s another unrequited love but turns out it wasn't. That was a nice surprise. So overall the only really thing I didn't like was there first sexual encounter. The whole wanting a baby plant your seed in me thing just didn't do it for me. But it worked with the story so that was just my own opinion. I also wanted to smack Drake for allowing his EX back in to his life and pretty much pushing Viola out. I was like what the freakity freak dude. I though you wanted her. I did feel like it was a little predictable but not in a bad way. There were still some twists I wasn't expecting and the scene after sexy time when his mom showed up at the apartment laughed a good one at that.
I also like the narration wasn't too hokey as some narrators can be. Over all a great fun read
Really enjoyed the domineering side of Drake but also his sexy sensitive side. Alpha males are all big teddy bears deep inside. Christine drive me crazy. I want to scratch her eyes out. Viola finally got the man of her dreams and the family she has always wanted. I used KU to read this one.
This started out with the drama. Viola appeared to be a mess and everything was just wrong in her life. Drake appeared to have it all together but not so. Resisting each other was not an option so their attraction for each other out waved being sensible. Drake and Viola needed each other so during this process they found love. Their journey wasn't smooth but real. Enjoyed the challenges they faced together. Thumbs up.
I enjoyed this book although I did feel it was a little rushed in places and I would have liked a little more ro the ending. Drake and Viola haven't seen each other in years and have no clue what's going on in each others lives but are both harbouring deep feelings for one another but been step brother and sister causes problems will they be able to be together and get the HEA they both want?
I read the first two parts a few months ago, but didn't purchase the third so happy with this all in one. I love that his mother guessed they were together and told her to fight for what was hers. Drake's ex was always a little sketchy and it was good when Vi told her about herself. Read in a few hours, so a happy and very sexy read.
The book had the potential to be really good but it felt rushed. Especially the ending. I felt like it was unfinished and that we were just left hanging.
