Colliding with Ten: A rivals to lovers interracial BWWM football sports romance

Rate this book
One collision was all it took to turn the league’s most focused quarterback into the one thing he swore he wouldn’t distracted.
Colliding with Ten is a football sports romance between a championship-obsessed quarterback and his rival’s little sister—a dancer whose life changes after a single devastating hit.
This interconnected standalone, the first in The Red Zone series, delivers what romance readers forbidden attraction, an injured heroine, a protective hero, forced proximity, interracial romance, he-falls-first energy, and an NFL-sized rivalry.

LENNOX
Football has always come first.
I’ve spent my entire career fighting injuries, expectations, and everyone waiting for me to prove I wasn’t worth the number-one pick. Now I finally have the roster to make a run at a championship, and I’m not letting anything, or anyone, get in the way.
Then I collide with Ayla Callahan on the sideline.
She’s a dancer for my rival’s team—and the little sister of the quarterback standing between me and my shot at a championship. She’s also the woman I can’t stop thinking about, especially after I’m the reason she leaves the field on a stretcher.
Sending flowers and checking on her was supposed to be the beginning and the end, while I tell myself the pull I feel toward her is guilt and nothing more.
But the more time I spend with Ayla, the harder it becomes to pretend I’m only worried about the injury I caused, and the more distracted I get.

AYLA
One hit took away the one thing I’ve always been able to count my body.
I came to New York determined to start over, make the cheerleading squad, and figure out what I wanted my life to look like after walking away from the future my father had planned for me.
Getting injured wasn't part of that plan.
Neither was Lennox Monroe.
He’s the quarterback who put me on the ground. My brother’s biggest rival. And possibly the last man on earth I should be getting to know.
Except the man I meet away from the cameras isn't the one I expected.
He remembers things I tell him. Makes me laugh when I don't want to. Then slowly becomes the person I want beside me as I build the life I’ve always wanted.
There's only one problem.
My brother would lose his mind if he knew.
And our respective teams would too.

Rivals to lovers

Colliding with TEN is a rivals to lovers, forbidden attraction, interracial romance, and a man who knows how to show up! 🥹❤️

Ayla is a cheerleader, Lennox is the quarterback for the rival team, and to make matters even more complicated, Ayla's brother plays for the team she's cheering for!
What started as an accidental collision that left Ayla with an injured leg slowly blossomed into something beautiful.

THE YEARNING! THE STOLEN GLANCES! THE SUBTLE TOUCHES! 😭❤️

But what made this story special wasn't just the romance. It was watching Ayla learn to trust herself, reclaim her independence, and realize that she deserves to make her own choices without allowing a man to dictate her happiness.

And LENNOX? 🥹 That man had my heart!
I especially appreciated how the author approached their interracial relationship. Lennox understood that loving Ayla, a Black woman, meant acknowledging the realities and prejudices they might encounter as an interracial couple. He didn't pretend those challenges didn't exist. Instead, he was willing to listen, learn, and understand her experiences.

And can we talk about how patient, gentle, and intentional Lennox was? He never needed grand gestures to prove his feelings. His consistency, kindness, and willingness to show up when Ayla needed him most spoke volumes.

This was such a beautiful reminder that love should never require you to lose yourself.
An absolute five-star read! Highly recommend!

This book had EVERYTHING you could ever want in a sports romance. A cute couple, rivals to lovers trope, sports scenes that didn’t feel too heavy but still emphasized the mmc’s personality, the fmc’s sport journey as well, and a plot that fully fleshed out every little nuance in a way that left me with no questions and yearning to read more about Lennox and Ayla’s story.

I absolutely loved the storytelling, specifically the attention to fleshing out Ayla and Lennox’s journeys to become a couple that truly emphasizes and strives to support each other.

I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone looking for a fuzzy, cute romance with good sports scenes and even better conflict, suspense, and amazing detail to the characters’ growth!
