The Rustmour Chronicles #2
First Light
Rustmour was forged to take suffering from the people who carried it. Now the living blade must reckon with what every act of relief leaves behind.
Across centuries and nine human hands, Rustmour becomes weapon, relic, experiment, witness, and companion. Each bearer asks something different of freedom from grief, fear, uncertainty, or pain. Each answer changes the person holding the blade—and the mind awakening within the steel.
What begins as obedience becomes memory. Memory becomes judgment. And when one bearer asks Rustmour to choose rather than merely serve, the blade must decide whether mercy without consent is mercy at all.
First Light is Book Two of The Rustmour Chronicles, a complete adult mythic fantasy saga about a sentient weapon learning the moral weight of its own power.
