A fresh take on Zombies and how the “infection” is transferred.
There’s definitely tons of potential with this story line. However as it is currently there is a lot of telling rather than showing. Delving deeper into character and fleshing out the environment will help. There needs to be more description and a solidified voice. Currently it jumps around too much from one thought to the next.
I was honestly concerned with finishing this because to me it started slow but it picked up very quickly. Great read. It had been a long time since I've started a book that I didn't want to put down. Good job Joey! I can't wait to get the new books.
I really enjoyed reading Fallen! The novel continually got more and more suspenseful, and I absolutely could not put it down as I read further on! I have been lucky enough to receive Fallen: Love in a recent giveaway and cannot wait to read both this sequel and also Fallen: Power.
This is an interesting story, different than many Zombie/Horror tales. The author takes it in a different direction, more Sci-Fi and a different type of Creature than your everyday zombie. I enjoyed it. Definitely worth reading
I had a lot of fun reading this - it's told from the perspective as if you're ACTUALLY in the MMC's character's mind as opposed to it being narrates, at least, that's how it feels. My review/rating is on the content and quality of the story, and it did make me want to keep seeing what's happening next! Strong descriptions, and many times, I felt like I was in the room with the characters. Even the thrilling parts had me leaning forward! Very fun!
This is actually a really neat book. I love the idea of having to make a choice when choosing which path you want to take for the next book, Fallen: Power or Fallen: Love. I debated between 2 or 3 stars because the writing felt juvenile. If you look past the awkward dialogue and constant use of simple sentences, this book is worth the read, especially since it’s not very long at 199 pages.
What teenage girl (Lila) who just witnessed her mother torn apart and being eaten by friends recently turned, and just lost her best female friend shot in the head, calmly suggests to her boyfriend he should leave her and go to a government facility with a decidedly suspicious character and subject himself to tests and whatever unknowns for the mere possibility of a cure? Hogwash! That girl would be a mental case shaking at the wind on windows, would not only be stuck to her boyfriend's side for comfort, she also would Never let him risk himself without a huge scene. I mean really have you ever experienced or imagined seeing someone killed. Even witnessing the death of a stranger is earth shaking..now imagine the dual loss of a mother and a best friend. Put the unrealistic computer game deaths away and imagine real life loss then start writing. Truth is I enjoyed the story except as in a few cases like above where the story displayed a disconnect with real to life reactions. In fact I wish I could write as well as you. Braincloud
