These are great chapter books for kids who like Hockey!! What fun books with mysteries that are appropriate for kids 9 and up!

Each book has a an exciting hockey game and a mystery to solve. The characters in the books are very relateable for kids of this age and engaging. I love that their are both boys and girls on the team and they all contribute!

The stories also contain lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and friendship! Terrific lessons for all kids!

There are a few times when I thought the content was a bit off for the age, but then when you compare it to modern video games, movies and tv shows, it was mild. Kids today are ages ahead of their past counterparts and these books reflect that.

Hockey fans will find a lot to love here. The play-by-play is really fun to read even for non-sporties like myself.

Cover Art - Eye catching and easy to tell the theme of the books.

I really enjoyed the four books in one binding due to not having to carry multiple books with me! Stories were excellent, though, so enjoy the Screech Owls' adventures!

Every one of those four stories about the screech owls was thrilling. It made me sit at the edge of my seat whenever the played one of the high intense hockey games, or when they have to solve a mystery, or the humor usaully, done by Nish. My favourite book was The Night They Stole the Stanley Cup because the setting is in my hometown, Toronto Canada, and when the robbers steal the cup, I love how e main characters Travis and Nish find a way to win their tournament, and also catch the criminal and save the stanley cup. I enjoyed Travis' personality, because I feel it is similar to mine, we are both quiet, we both listen, and we are both good hockey players. I am looking forward to reading The Complete Screech Owls 2!

I loved these stories! I had intended to just read the first story (there are 4 in each collection), but I enjoyed it so much, I had to read all 4! I only wish I had the book in hardcover. I included a J rating with caution. There are several mainstream-school issues (stealing, smoking, lying...) that we don't really see here at DVA, so J parents will need to be consulted.
