Katheryn was born in Maine and has lived there her entire life. Growing up, she was the only girl out of five children. Out of four loving, but hard-assed, brothers she has been set on fire TWICE, shot at, left with a burning car and a five gallon container of gas, scared out of her mind every time they got behind the wheel, and has enough hilarious stories and amazing memories to fill a million books. It made her independent and every female character she writes reflects strength and independence.

Payton spiked an extremely high temperature at fourteen, damaging her eardrums, causing her to go deaf. She thought it was the end of her life, having to pretty much start her life over in the middle of high school. She was wrong though. It wasn’t the end of her life, it was just the beginning of a different kind of life. She learnt to adapt, and made it through high school, learnt to read lips as because only a few people in her life knew sign language or were willing to learn.

The day she got her acceptance letter to Vanderbilt, she also got a positive result on a pregnancy test. Always good at tests, that was one she didn’t want to pass like she did. She didn’t allow that to stop her, if anything, it made her determined to make a good life for her daughter, Willow.

Liam, Willow’s father, was not so enthusiastic about being a parent back then.

Mother to thirteen year old Willow and a five year old Sage, her husband Max has been pulling away from her, reeking of alcohol and who knows what else? She accidentally returns to her office and finds him with her assistant Samantha on her desk. She wasn’t taking dictation.

At fifteen, Willow wanted to attend a Thirty Ought Six and Vanessa Knox concert. Being the label’s lawyer, she was able to get backstage passes to surprise her with.

He gets drunk, left the girls in the car while he was in a bar, forced unlicensed teenage Willow to drive his passed out a*se home and then they got in an accident. It’s his fault that the girls were seriously injured. And it’s his fault that Willow thinks it’s her fault that the other driver was hurt!
“Max left us in the car when we got to the bar. It was so hot. He left the keys in it though so I kept turning it on and running the air conditioner for Sage. When he finally came back out, he was trashed. He hauled me out of the car and started screaming at me, kept telling me how I was just going to become a whore like my mom. He threw me into the side of the car and Sage started screaming and crying. I tried to tell her to stop, that everything was going to be all right, but she wouldn’t stop. He dragged her out too and threw her seat across the parking lot and laughed when it broke. I pushed Sage behind me when he wasn’t looking and he grabbed my hair and started dragging me around the car. He shoved me in behind the wheel and told me if I didn’t drive I was going to regret it. I told him no, to get a cab, but that only made him angrier. He climbed in the back where Sage should have been and sprawled across the entire seat, so I told her to climb in next to me. I buckled her up the best I could, I swear. I did everything just like the driver’s ed teacher taught me but that car came out of nowhere and I didn’t have time to stop. It’s all my fault”.

He then takes every opportunity to taunt and terrorise her, traumatising her!

I really enjoyed this book and A.J. was to die for. He was the man-whore turned commitment ready the moment he set eyes on Payton.
This book had such a feel good feeling about it. The rock star that was brought down by the bands deaf lawyer. Such a great read. Loved, Loved, Loved A.J. and Payton together. Their chemistry was sizzling. The was he was with her children was so sweet.
