Henry and Raquel were the cutest! I loved that she was grumpy and he’s sunshine. Henry was such a sweetheart to Raquel and I love the way he was protective of her. He showed her that she’s enough and that she can trust him. Their bets and competitions were one of my favorite parts. This book was so well developed for a novella. The characters had depth and I truly enjoyed their story.
tropes: 💛enemies to more 💛reverse grumpy x sunshine 💛opposites attract 💛firefighter x teacher 💛meddling grandma 💛small town 💛he falls first 💛dual pov
Just from the little mention at the end, I’m now interested in reading Georgia and Wyatt’s story!
The flower lady was funny 😂
I loved trying to function while my roommate’s kitten climbed up my pants 😂
Okay, come on—no need to be embarrassed by a sugar overload if you’re on your period 🤷♀️ And guys should get used to dealing with “women problems” in everyday life.
Henry overreacted when she didn’t answer the door. I can see how it’s a funny story for them to later look back on, though (: I do think Raquel shut him down too fast. Very “Rocketman” by American Authors and Magic Giant?
Some of us have to stay as white as a sheet of paper; the only other option is a lobster with blisters.
I’d be winging it at pickleball, too 😂 I do that with a lot of unfamiliar games!
Very sweet. This was such a cute and fun story. It's the perfect introduction to Starlight Valley if you haven't met the Dawson family and their friends. I loved it because it made me laugh, smile, and fall in love with Starlight Valley even more. Raquel and Henry are funny and adorable. It's always a good time when the Dawson cousins are together, whether in the group chat or in person. It was also nice to see Ansel and Cleo again.
If you liked this prequel, you'll love book 1 of the series, Promise You the Moon, which is Hunter and Ellie's journey of friendship to love. I also recommend reading the interconnected holiday books, Cozy by the Fire(man) by Lindsay and A Christmas Court(ship) by Tiffany for the love stories of Ansel and Cleo, then Beckett and Sadie. You'll also catch Grandma DeeDee trying to be a sneaky matchmaker again.
This is a Starlight Valley Novella, where we get Henry and Raquel’s story. We also get introduced to the Dawson clan and Ellie.
This is a great start to the series. I enjoyed how persistent Henry was in getting Raquel to give him a chance and the competition that ensued.
This novella/series is co-authored by Tiffany Noelle Chancon and Lindsay Rochester. They are new to me authors and I am super excited to check out more of their books!
Quotes: “And the way he says it, so genuinely, it makes me wish that I really did have someone in my life who said things like that to me. Whatever you need.”
“Life’s better when you don’t let it get you down for too long.”
“I can’t choose what knocks me down – but I can choose what keeps me down.”
Is a sweet, clean, small town, opposites attract, Golden Retriever MMC, meddling family romcom and no cliffhanger.
Some of the lines I really like --- I’m done with guys like that. So-called heroes who think they’re all that and a bag of Doritos. ---- “Never underestimate old people with free time.” --- Maybe healing doesn’t happen all at once. Maybe it happens one brave little choice at a time. ---
What's Grandma DeeDee up to? What's Ellie up to? What's Beckett up to? These and other questions will all be answered.
I loved Raquel and Henry's story and I'm sure you will too. I've loved everyone of their books that I've read and I can't wait to "Promise You The Moon."
This was such a cute little novella! I read it in one sitting and it was a really nice breath of fresh air that I’d been needing. It’s no secret if you poke around my account that I prefer less spice to spice and I prefer contemporary romance to dark romance. Somehow lately I feel like I’ve been reading a lot more dark romance and a lot more shmexy scenes in books than I usually prefer. I needed a pallet cleanser and this was perfect! I am super excited to dive into Promise You the Moon which technically comes next. These are interconnected standalone on the Starlight Valley universe.
A firefighter and a teacher... sweet chaos with lots of spark. Can we talk about the Raquel's family???? So so hilarious. I enjoyed the banter and all the obvious love they have for each other. When family is sailing the ship of love, Raquel and Henry are left with no choice but to go along with the flow. The laughs, joy and support flows through every page. A great read and definitely a great beginning to the Dawson family stories. Looking forward to more exciting reads. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book and the opinions are mine.
I loved getting to read this short and sweet love story for Henry and Raquel. They were a fun pair, even though this was a short novella it was a full of banter, chemistry and sweet romance. This was a great start in to the Starlight Valley by Lindsay and Tiffany. I am super excited to see more from these characters & families. We got a little teaser into Ellie’s story, Promise You the Moon.
I loved being able to read this early and was honored to give you my thoughts.
This Novella sets the intro to the Love in Starlight Valley series. In this story, we meet Henry and Raquel. He is a local firefighter and Raquel as a fifth grade teacher, both are highly competitive and attracted to each other. Great banter, entertaining family and sweet romance will pull you in. A charming clean, wholesome romance you can read in less than an hour. It’s a great little pick me up.
4.25 stars: This short and sweet novella is about a firefighter trying to get his new neighbor, an elementary school teacher, to go on a date with him. It was very quick, but fun; I liked seeing her realize it was okay to be pursued, even though we never got super clear explanation for her initial hesitancy. The small town is a charming setting.
I loved this short but very sweet love story. Henry and Raquel were such a special pair. They shared so many sweet moments as well as plenty of banter and fun. The challenges made this a light, fun read. This was an excellent into to Starlight Valley, and I am excited to see more from this crazy family.
Soo cute! Love this little story to bits, so sweet! So glad we got go back to Starlight Valley again, the characters are so lovable and relatable, the setting feels like a little slice of heaven! So i definitely recommend!
Disclaimer: I was provided an advance reader copy by the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This story was so sweet. This novella pulled at my heart strings seeing the two main characters connect and grow both together and apart. It also helped that there was a push and pull antic that had me chuckling throughout.
This is such a sweet story, and it was so short and quick that you cant help but fly through it in one sitting. I enjoyed the reverse grumpy/sunshine trope. Another 5/5 from Lindsay and Tiffany!
