I could not get into this book. I’m glad Georgiana grew a spine, but it was so quick. She was more forward than even Elizabeth would be.
I could live with that. It’s just that the story didn’t get anywhere. I think I quit about 30% in, and they’d only recently landed at Netherfield.
This is an author I usually enjoy, so I’m sorry I couldn’t get into this one.

I really liked this book, I think it's her best of the several I've read. Firstly, it's got a very strong plot that keeps you reading. The characters are mostly true to P&P; I especially liked Lydia, she's her brash, bold and annoying self, and yet, she's a heroine, too.
But what I most appreciated is the way Anna Maria Wallace takes something that's already present in Austen--the way society protects (upper class) young women's innocence and makes the consequences more explicit than a Lady writing in the Regency era can.
Can't say much more without getting into spoiler territory.
