Science fiction isn’t a genre I usually reach for, yet Narsofis Dreams gave me plenty of reasons to become invested.
I especially appreciated Shannon’s attention to detail, from the small traits that distinguish a character to the histories that shape the book’s universe. Those details build on one another consistently, giving the sense that each life and place extends beyond what we see on the page. He draws me into a world entirely unfamiliar to me and makes me want to stay there, understand it, and discover more.
Shannon takes a character who seems difficult to like and weaves a story around him that makes the reader want to root for him. As more of his character unfolds, understanding him becomes easier, even when you don't agree with his choices. Shannon beautifully shows how the crew’s shared history shapes both their frustrations and their loyalties. Something is compelling about people who have every reason to be frustrated with one another and still find reasons to care. Through a world far removed from our own, Shannon reveals something deeply familiar about humanity: our tendency to fall short, our desire to be known, and the beauty of finding connection despite our shortcomings.
Shannon created a story worth reading that holds your interest and gives you something to think about long after you’ve closed the book.

Few times have a read a book that left me wanting more from the moment I finished. The ease at which the book reads, the depth of the character development and the haunting ending that lingered in my brain for days afterward, makes this book one of my all-time favorite reads.
Once you start, carve out like a day or so because you’ll have a hard time putting it down for long.

Excellent sci-FI read without a predictable sequence of events. The character depth and development kept me intrigued and excited to see what comes next in this galaxy creation!

This is a fantastic score-fi read! The characters and their relationships are believable and relatable. The universe feels vast and interesting. The story is compelling, suspenseful, funny at times, and overall super enjoyable. Can’t recommend this one enough! Even if you’re not a big sci-fi fan, this is an enjoyable read for fans of any genre.
