Shifting Ground

Rate this book
A new BBW shifter romance in the White Fir Bend Cult series from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Tabitha Conall...

Army Ranger and bear shifter Tiger Kane got kicked out of the cult he grew up in when he was fifteen. Now he's back to rescue his estranged mom from the clutches of the cult leader.

BBW Dr. Piper Holmes thought she was going to be studying dropping fertility rates in a rural shifter town. If she'd known she'd be trapped in a cult compound where grown men married twelve-year-olds and grown women wore bruises, she never would have agreed.

Thrown together, Kane and Piper work to help two women escape the cult. But other forces are at work, and Kane and Piper don't know who they can trust.

They're not even sure they can trust each other.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review

The cover is awesome and sexy :) Love it!!

This is book two in the series. This book is much longer than book 1 was at around 125ish pages. This book is for adults only due some very steamy content. And there are some scenes of abuse. I highly recommend reading the series in order to you can get the full pleasure and background of all the characters.

This is Kane and Piper’s story. The story grabbed my attention from the start, and I loved reading it (though not some of the things that happened). Kane and his buddies are awesome, and I love that they were all in this book even Eva too! He learns several things he does like while he is home. Piper takes a job and soon finds lots of things she does not like. I love her fire and spirit to help. There was plenty of action in the twisted town. This is basically a HFN (Happy For Now) because I’m betting there will be some problems in the future. The book does have some closure, but you definitely know there will be more action in the future books.

Tabitha’s writing is easy to follow, and you easily get pulled into the story with everything easily pictured in your mind. I’m definitely going to be reading more of her work both past and future :)

I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoyed the first story and all my shifter lovin’ friends will find something to love :)

I have received the ARC copy from the author and I wish I had the first one as well so I can get a better feel of the 4 male characters (Bowie, Ranger, Kane and Striker).

This is my first book from Tabitha Conall and I really liked it, for a short one.

The story has a very interesting approach towards the shifters and I found it refreshing because was not centered on the mating but on the story itself.

Dr. Piper, a cougar shifter, was living in White Fir Bend town and was there to help with the shifter fertility issues. In a very short time she discovered that the women were abused by their husbands, married very young (starting age 12) and living as sister-wives. The town was run as a religious-cult and not a shifter town.

Kane, a bear shifter, is an army ranger who managed to find his way outside the cult and came back to take his mother with him. At age 15, The Master (White Fir Bend religious lieder) forced Kane to leave the town due to the fact that he disagreed with the rules and the way women were treated.
Unfortunately his mother was married now with The Master and was not willing to leave him.

The story is narrated from different point of views that gave the book a different feel and dimension.

Piper and Kane met wile trying to help different people for different reasons and they eventually joined forces.

I like the fact that there was not an instant love but an attraction between Kane and Piper and they both focused on what they had to do wile building their connection.

I am looking forward for the next story about Striker and Del and I hope to be able to find Eva and Bowie's story.

This is the 2nd in the series, but can be read as a stand alone.

Kane and his army ranger buddies are on their way to White Fir . The cult like town threw Kane out as a fifteen year old trouble maker. Now he is going back to rescue his mother from the abuse the women of the town suffer.
Piper is a doctor and has been called in to find out why there seems to be a fertility problem. She has found out more than she ever wanted to. Now she needs to work out how to help these women.
Kane is a bear shifter, and exactly the type of hero you would expect from an army ranger.
Can they hope to rescue anyone from a town full of shifters, who have kept the rest of the world from knowing what happens there.
An exciting, dangerous mission for our wonderful team.
I think I know who is going to have the next story and I can't wait.

He was the biggest, baddest bear around.

Piper couldn’t stop thinking about him. He’d kill for her. If he had to, he’d die for her. Oh that Bear Tiger...he's a Bad Boy Alpha all right! In all the right places. I mean, ways, all the right ways! *naughty grin* WOW!! This is such a FANGTASTIC story! I was captivated from the start and couldn't put the book down until the very last page…and after I went back to “ahem” admire (read drool over) that BEARTASTIC cover for a few more minutes… again! This book is so well written that I was able to sink myself completely into it immediately and become so fully immersed that I could see the town, houses, buildings, people, etc. And the characters – I felt like I BECAME the characters, seeing and feeling everything both with and for them, hearing, tasting & smelling with them (to a point - there are just some things I just do not want to smell or taste. *snicker*) To me, being able to connect with the characters and lose myself so deep in the book shows not only how well written it is, but also how terrific the storyline itself is too! Sometimes you can get lost in the story, but not connect with the characters, or vice versa, so to be able to do both is definitely something worth raving about! I love how unique the Shifters and their traits are, especially what happens when a couple is mated. I love the humor that Tabitha had in here not only because it lightened up the subject - Welcome to Crazy Town - but also because there were so many great one-liners that I burst out laughing multiple times! Like "Birth certificates? Was that like getting an education in birthing?" Or "armpit of a town"- that's a new one to me, but I love it! Of course, there are many more features, parts and pieces that beautifully blend together to create this masterpiece – like the intensity, sweet & sour moments, the WTF ones and my favorite ones - the hot & sexy parts which are FANGLICIOUS!! I won't share any because I don't want to spoil anything for you, but trust me - they are drool worthy! I completely adore Piper (and not just because she shares the same name as my furkid either, although that is a bonus. LOL). Piper's caring heart & determination was a trait I loved about her but I was saddened by the reasons that gave her that trait. Kane is soooo BEARY FURELICIOUS!!! GRIZZLY outside, PAWFECT inside! OK, OK, I'll admit it, he's PAWFECT all around!! Of course, the cliff-hanger of an ending sucks, but since it will continue with a couple more books that will also be a part of this deep & rich overarching storyline, then I can happily suck it up. To clarify, the cliff-hanger does not involve Kane & Piper’s story. Tabitha's pawesome books are more than worth the wait. With yet another FURREFIC specimen showing just how phenomenally talented she is, it's easy to see why Tabitha Conall is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author!! After all, she has very quickly become one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait to read all of her books, over & over again for many years to come!

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review for SHIFTING GROUND
I receive this as an ARC for an honest review

“Tiger” Kane has come back to White Fir Bend to take his mother home with him. He needs to rescue her from the loathsome cult that she has been part of all her life, and that he was banished from years ago. Now, fifteen years later, he has returned for her….but she refuses to leave…even though she is been physically abused by her husband and alpha. Kane knew all those years ago that what was happening was wrong, but he was never able to make anyone else see that. When he literally runs into a woman in the store, he is shocked that he does not know her. Knowing how the cult works, he should know who she is. He is also shocked to find she is not a shrinking violet like all the other females in town. He soon discovers Dr. Piper Holmes has been brought in by the alpha to try and figure out why the birth rate in his pack has dwindled to almost nothing. What Piper is learning is a shock to her. Girls are married off at the age of twelve to a group of men that have multiple wives. It is how they are raised and the girls do not know any other way. Piper is determined to help these girls and stop this cult and its way of life….but she needs to escape first to get her findings to the proper authorities. But escape is not something she can do alone. But that seems to change when she meets Kane. When she realizes he and his friends are the only ones who can help, she asks Kane to help her and two other young women get out. Initially he refuses, but when he realizes she truly wants to stop what is happening he quickly agrees to help her. What neither of them is ready for is the intense, almost overwhelming attraction between them. With danger surrounding them at every turn, will they be able to escape ? Will they be able to ignore their attraction? Or will forces drive a wedge between them before they are able to find what they both want so desperately ?

I don’t often say this, but … OMG! I so enjoyed this book! It was full of everything I love to read about. It had (of course!) uber-alpha, hot shifter males, a strong-minded heroine, some suspense, drama and action … both the running & fighting kind and the sizzling hot sexual tension kind. What more could a girl want in her reading material?
We have the hero, an Army Ranger veteran, returning to the cult/shifter town he was born in (and kicked out of as a teenager) to get his mother out of there. We have a heroine who is a fertility specialist who was contracted by the head of the cult/town to discover why their birthrates had dropped. What she found were their 12 & 13 year old wives weren’t bearing children. The girls were “given” to men as wives as soon as they hit puberty, and all the sister-wives were told how to act, what to do and even not to think … just follow orders. Or, get beat. Needless to say, when Dr Piper Holmes gets an inkling of what is really going on in the town she wants out, as well as helping any others she can to leave.
There are a lot of surprising twists and turns in the story line and it keeps your interest all the way through. This could be a stand alone, as the author has given us a nice back story on all four of the ex-Army Rangers, as well as the FBI heroine from the first in the series who is also present. I am soooo looking forward to reading the next in this series. Hope the author has more soldier friends coming home soon to join in all this action!!

I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed Minor Shift. Tabitha Conall has done an amazing job once again.

Tiger Kane who is an Army Ranger and a bear shifter ask her friends Bowie (Lion Shifter), Ranger (wolf shifter), and Stryker (dog shifter) to help get his mom out of a cult which is in the town of White Fir Bend aka Crazy Town. His friends are more than happy to help. They are a tight knit bunch of guys all serving together and being shifters. Kane would of never dreamed how much his mission on getting his mom out would change. He knew there was something special about Dr. Piper Holmes, just didn’t know what.

Dr. Piper Holmes was a Cougar shifter. She was also a beautiful, caring, brave, and strong woman. She was sent to the town of White Fir Bend to figure out why there was a fertility issue. She never dreamed of what she would walk into. Seeing most woman had bruises and married at the age of 12 and becoming a prisoner herself. It made her stomach turn.

Piper had met two woman who wanted out. Would she be able to help them escape? Would she be able to trust Kane to help? Who was friend and who was the enemy?

There was so many favorite quotes from the book. One that I found funny was, "Only question is can you hear the music" "Music?" "We're about to dance". I did leave out who the ones that were talking were. Didn’t want to give too much away. You will have to read the book to find out about that quote.

Dr. Piper Holems is a fertility expert, a cougar shifter and about to get stuck in a cult. Gabriel Calvin asks piper to come work in White Fir Bend to see is she can figure out why the birth rate is so low. She doesn't know and he doesn't tell her that it is a cult. He also doesn't tell her that he has no plans of letting her leave and that he will pick a husband for her.

Piper starts to interview the women and discovers how young most of them are now and when they first got married. Also, the fact that they are being abused and that their are multiple wives for one man. Doesn't take her long to figure out it is a cult and that she needs to do something to help these women.

Deliliah Calvin, one of four wives to Owen Calvin, Gabriel's nephew, wants to leave and wonders if the new Dr. will help, but if she does leave she has to take her sister-wife, Becky, with her. She can't leave her behind.

Tiger Kane, or just "Kane", was kicked out of White Fir Bend Cult when he was 15. That was fine with him, except his mother is still there and he wants to get her out. He and 3 of his Ranger buddies go to White Fir Bend so he can talk his mother into leaving. Only she refuses.

Piper approaches Kane about helping to get Delilah, Becky and herself out of White Fir Bend. Will he help or will she have to figure out away by herself?

Lies, secrets, deception and revenge. What a mighty cocktail.

Shifting Ground by Tabitha Conall
Tiger Kane wanted his mom out of Crazy Town and it was now. He was tired of waiting to free her. With his friends Bowie, Stryker and Ranger in tow he went for her. Meanwhile, Dr. Piper Holmes was in White Fir Bend researching why the women had fertility problems. She was shocked by her discoveries and needed help to deal with that because no way she would turn her eyes at that. Tiger was a force of nature, magnificent and powerful and she was feeling attracted to him but can she trust him after what she had learned about him? And Kane, his desire of get rid of Gerald Calvin and his thugs could be enough to save the ones he care for? This story about the cult was a very interesting with lot of action, suspense, romance and drama. The male characters are very sexy and direct to action. Tiger was an alpha male after one mission and got his reward at the end. The camaraderie between the four Rangers felt good and real and there was a chemistry between the characters that made the story flow. Like the author writing style, her narrations and the way the different shifters are portrayed. Interesting how the author introduced some clues for the next story, Del and Stryker’s. I was left thinking about that. I like and think it is good when all the alpha males or the heroines in a series have their own books. For me, it makes the series more interesting than a long series with the same characters starring. Eager for the next book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second of the “White Fur Bend Cult” / Bad Boy Alphas series, and it fits right into place in both. This is a heart-warming story of a woman that has been lured to work in the parameters of a town/compound owned by a polygamist cult under the guise of trying to decipher why there has been a low rate of fertility amongst the wives. Dr. Piper Holmes specializes in shifter fertility, and has been lured by the town Alpha, Gerald Calvin. Kane was raised in the town, but thrown out at the age of 15 because of his revolting against “the Master”. He has returned to the compound to try and convince his mother to leave with him, only to come across Piper. There is a reaction when he is close to her, but circumstances don’t allow him the time to ponder on this. As they both work towards similar goals, they are thrown together. Will they be able to work together to achieve their goals? Will Piper ever escape this hell hole? Will she ever see Kane again?
Ms. Conall has once again written an awesome story, with a tale that is easily followed. The characters have been woven into the tale, continuing slightly with the story of Eva and Bowie. They are strong yet easy to love. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Tabitha Conall has done it again! I love this book, these sexy hot alpha shifters are like no other.

Tiger Kane, a bear shifter, has decided to try to get his mom to leave the crazy cult that she is in. His Army Ranger buddies, Bowie, a lion shifter, Stryker, a dog shifter and Ranger, a wolf shifter go along as back up. Tiger gets an unexpected surprise when he gets there in the name of Dr. Piper Holmes, a cougar shifter. She is there trying to figure out why the town is having fertility issues. Not only is she beautiful but strong and independent, too.
Dr. Holmes had no idea what she's walking into when she discovers the women sporting bruises and the girls being married off as young as 12. She soon learns that she is actually a prisoner in the town. She meets women who want to escape the cult and she is determined to help them.

Can Piper save the women? Can Tiger free his mom? Will they have a HEA? Will the crazy cult win out? All questions to be answered in this amazing book.

I love the fact that the story is not rushed. The feelings between the characters are allowed an natural progression without being rushed. I found the cult aspect very interesting and the whole storyline was very well written and kept my interest till the end.

Thank you for another great book!!

Great book. But then I’m a sucker for an alpha male shifter story. If you are as well, this one won’t disappoint you.

Kane, as we learned in the prequel, Minor Shift, was kicked out of his hometown at age 13 and left to survive on his own. Not only did he survive; he found friends and became a US Ranger. After all this time he as decided to return, along with 3 of his Ranger buddies, to get his mother out of what he has now termed “Crazy Town”.

Dr. Piper Holmes is a shifter that the “Master” of “Crazy Town” has brought into the town to figure out why the women are having trouble getting pregnant. What she finds in the town are terrible signs of abuse and child endangerment. She soon learns she is being watched and forced to remain in this town. While Piper is trying to find proof that she can use to help the women and female children of the town, she and Kane cross paths. The two are instantly drawn to one another.

With their personal agenda’s will Piper and Kane find time for a connection? Will Kane save his mother? Will Piper be able to get out of town and possibly help the other ladies of the town?

The book is very well written with lots of suspense and action. Judging from the prequel, Minor Shift and this book, Shifting Ground; this looks to be a great series!

Book 1 in this series set up this book perfectly and it starts right where the first book ended (and it is a clean break, although I suggest you read the books in order). Army Ranger, and bear shifter, Tiger Kane (yes, he was named Tiger before his family knew he was a bear shifter but you’d better call him Kane) goes back to White Fir Bend Cult, where he grew up, to try to rescue his mother from the cult. He has had a very difficult life growing up however he ended up as an Army Ranger with some of the best friends/brothers that anyone could ask for. His story broke my heart and I won’t go into detail – you need to read it for yourself.

When he arrives in town, he runs into (literally) Dr. Piper Holmes who thinks she is in town for some fertility issues and problems. As the story unfolds, you’ll see how she is really being forced to stay and when she figures that out, she is not happy about it. What a great couple these two make and the story will take you up and down and around. Love Kane’s friends/brothers and I’m thinking the series will have a book about each of them.

I highly recommend this book and series. They are some great characters: shifters with snark, senses of humor, love and deep feelings. I just wanted to give Kane a big ol’ hug.

Shifting Ground is part of the Bad Boy Alphas’ books, but is also the 2nd standalone book in Tabitha’s captivating series The White Fir Bend Cult. I so love getting to know the characters in a series, and when sexy shifters are involved the series becomes more powerful and exciting..

This story features Dr. Piper Holmes a sexy, audacious, curvy cougar shifter; who has been asked by the (Master) Gerald Calvin to investigate the low conception rate among the young women in the town. Kane a hot, strapping, powerful Alpha bear shifter; has come to town with his army buddies, to ask his mother who disclaimed him as a teen, to leave White Fir Bend and come home with him…

This story is jammed packed with amazing impressive and engaging characters, banter superb, danger and intrigue, shocking reveals, unexpected surprises, vivid descriptions of scenes, and explosive sizzling heart-throbbing romance leaving you awe-struck and wanting more….

Exciting captivating well written read by a truly gifted author. Had my undivided attention till the end and I loved it. In a shifter series the possibilities are endless and fascinating. {I received an arc for an honest review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book, the author and of course the series….

Shifting Ground (White Fir Bend Cult Series, Book 2) by Tabitha Conall

I was constantly entertained by the amazing well written story. The story held together, and characters' dialogues made sense. I got caught up in the interesting, original storyline, drama, action, suspense. Kane with the help of his buddies plan to get his mom out of "Crazy Town". Things don't go as planned. I was hanging on the seat of my pants trying to find out what happened next. The main characters are Tiger Kane ("Kane", alpha, army ranger, bear shifter), and Piper Holmes (cougar shifter, Doctor and Fertility specialist). I like that Kane is a take charge kid of guy, and Piper is also an independent women. I could visualize the shifter town were the men have multiple battered shifter wives as young as twelve. You can understand why Kane, Piper and friends wanted to help these women break free from the cult. Kane and Piper meet by accident, have chemistry, and have a good HEA.

Shifting Ground is part of two series: Bad Boy Alphas, and The White Fir Bend Cult. The book starts off after the ending of A Minor Shift (White Fir Bend Cult Series, Book 1). I look forward to reading more of her work, and highly recommend her stories.

Shifting Ground by Tabitha Conall (Bad Boy Alphas)

Army Ranger Tiger Kane has a special ability he was born with. He is a bear shifter. In the community where he grew up he was outcast in his early teens and forced out of his home and left on the streets of Chicago with a warning to never go back. The cult didn’t like the fact that Kane didn’t think girls should marry in their early teens and that they had no choice in their lives. Even his own mother was caught in this life. Young Dr. Piper Holmes has been bought in to help figure out why there is a low fertility rate in the community. Once Piper finds out what is going on she wants to leave it all and take two of the young girls with her to get them out. Will Kane help her? After the first meeting with him she is drawn to him. Now she has to discover if he will help her or if he will try and keep her a captive. You need to read this to discover how these two work out their differences and why they are drawn to each other. Will Kane get his mother to leave, and what is the secret that she has kept hidden all these years? Kane soon realizes that he is on shifting ground in more ways than one. Catch this one now and enjoy.

I received a ARC for an honest review. This was a very interesting story about Dr. Piper Holmes and Ranger Kane Kane came back to his home town to rescue his mother and take her away with him where he could take care of her the last time he saw her he was 15 years old and was thrown out of the community by Gerald Calvin who was and is running a shifter cult it was a group of sick men who through him out of the community all those years ago and they are still doing the same thing now that he is back no one in the town will talk to him because they are scare of what will happen Kane brought three of his friends with him to help with his mother but once he goes to her home she tells him she is not leaving and then Gerald Calvin tells him that he is married to his mother and to leave town and don't come back Kane is livid but will not give up yet then couple of days later he meets Piper in the strangest place but knows that he is attracted to her and wants to know her better but cannot let her distract him from his plan for his mother but can't figure out what she is doing in town. This a romantic suspense I found it to be a page turner. The next installment should be just as interesting.

"Rescue of Mom"
This book has amazing suspense, action, plus steamy hot romance!. The characters are fantastic!. "Tiger" Kane never liked how his pack did things. It was more of an cult then a pack. Instead of the male shifters finding a mate they took several wives instead. Plus they took wives of a very young age the girls were no older then thirteenth. Kane was kicked out of the pack for speaking up against this practice. They said he was causing to much trouble. Now Kane is all grown up and is back to rescue his mother!. His Father is dead but Kane still runs into a problem his Mother has now married the abusive Alpha who they call The Master. Dr. Piper Holmes who's studies are in fertility problems in humans and shifters has been hired by the pack. Only The Alpha tricked her into coming. He did not inform her they were an cult or that the women she was suppose to help were only mere girls not women. Piper plans to find evidence to take to the authorities of what has been happening in this pack. While looking for birth and marriage records Piper runs into Kane. They are very attracted to each other. They want each other but first they must find a way to stop this cult. You will find this book very hard to put down!. It is a must read book!

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

wow!!!

i soooo loved this story!!!

Kane is returning to his home town in hopes to save his mom.

Returning to the Cult he grew up he sees not many things have changed and those that have are mostly bad except the new doctor in town that he feels attracted too.

Piper moved into this town hoping to help with the fertility issues the towns people are facing but the reality hits her hard.
She has moved into a cult that mistreats women.

When she decides to leave and try to save 2 women the only man she thinks of helping her out is the tall dark and dangerous Kane.

Can they make it out of Crazy town?
Can they save the women?
Can the trust one another and can they trust this attraction between them?

The author decided to move around a tough subject and span an amazing story !!!

Action packed and well written i couldn't leave the book down till i reached the last page.

The only thing is that i found the story endind abrupt....

still can't wait to read more!!!!!

A great addition to Tabitha's new series and a great addition to the Bad Boys Alpha Series.!

This was a very well-written and intriguing story, which I enjoyed immensely. Piper is a doctor who has been recruited to look into fertility problems in a cult controlled by Gerald Calvin, otherwise known as the Master. When interviewing the women, Piper is disturbed by what she finds out; children are being married off at an early age and abuse is ripe, but she needs more evidence. Kane was thrown out of the cult at an early age, but has returned with his army friends to induce his mother to leave, but she refuses. While explaining her reasons, Kane hears some disturbing confessions about his mother’s relationship with Gerald. Piper asks for Kane’s help when two women want to leave town, but this is easier said than done; danger lurks everywhere, and they need help, which comes in the form of the FBI. Piper and Kane realise they are mates, only drawing attention to the fact that the women of White Fir Bend have not been allowed the same opportunity. This was an exceptional shifter story, which I would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Meet Kane...Sexy bear shifter on a mission to save his mother from the hands of a cult.

Meet Piper...Shifter fertility specialist who has figured out that there is more to the town than just a lack of fertility.

Both hell bent on saving those that need saving, Kane and Piper team up with the rest of the Army Ranger squad to escape the cult's clutches. It's just a bonus they find each other along the way.

Oh Kane...why don't you come save ME?! lol! I loved the file room meeting between Piper and Kane. When the Hero and heroine have moments like those, it pleases my reader senses. One of my favorite convos from this book happened between Bowie and a couple of the guards.

Guard: "We can hear you, you know."
Bowie: "Doesn't matter if you can. Only question is whether or not you can hear the music."
Guard: "Music?"
Bowie: "We're about to dance."
-Cue fight scene-

I was gifted this book for an honest review and have to say the author Tabitha Conall once again has out done herself with this story. Bear shifter and Army Ranger, Tiger Kane, sets out to rescue his estranged mother from the cult he was kicked out of at the age of 15. Having grown up in "Crazy Town", he invites his 3 best friends and fellow shifters, Stryker, Bowie, and Ranger, to join him as back-up. What he doesn't expect to find in the backward, repressive cult town, is a female doctor he can't stop thinking about. Dr. Piper Holmes thought she was hired to study dropping fertility rates in the small shifter town of White Fir Bend, but what she finds once she arrives and starts to interview the town women is startling and disturbing.
When he arrives in town, he runs into (literally) Dr. Piper Holmes who thinks she is in town for some fertility issues and problems. As the story unfolds, you’ll see how she is really being forced to stay and when she figures that out, she is not happy about it. What a great couple these two make and the story will take you up and down.

***ARC received from Author in exchange for my honest reveiw**

Tabitha is a pretty awesome storyteller, I enjoyed her books, the storyline as well as the characters. Cults, shifters and love all meshed up together in a decent length book and enough detail to keep you from being bored.

Tiger Kane knows just how crazy, crazy town is, he's back to get his mother away from the crazies. A town where women has no rights and the males have more than one wife. The Master rules the roost with a Iron fist. The problem is no one in crazy town is having babies, thats where Piper comes in a fertility doctor. The Curvy Dr. Piper Holmes is paid well to find the problem with the women of Crazy town, not being able to breed. What she finds out may just cost her her life.

A good mix of shifters, right amount of story that you should cringe at whats revealed about the town. I could wish that Kane and Piper came together more. Ohhh but will Stryker get his own story? hmmm only time will tell.
thank you Ms. Connall for the pleasure of reading Shifting Ground I can't wait for the next book. Enjoy

I enjoyed the second half of this book. I commend Kane for wanting to go back and save his mother, he could have just moved on with his life and forgot about her. Too bad, she couldn't forget her programming and go with him. And then he finds out the cult leader, the guy that abandoned him on the street without a penny- is his father. Sucker punch to the gut. But Kane makes several attempts to convince his mom, to come with him. Along the way, he meets Dr. Piper who is in White Fir Bend to solve the fertility issues. They immediately connect and are attracted to each other, which deepens each time they meet. Piper is disgusted by what she sees around town, all the battered women and child brides, and asked Kane for help to get two women out. With the help of his friends, Kane helps Piper get the other women out of town and to safety. And once they get debriefed, things heat up in the bedroom between Piper and Kane, and afterwards they realize they are mates-totally cool!! But I have a feeling this story isn't over yet...

Shifting Ground (White Fir Bend Cult Book 2) (Kindle Edition)

Really enjoyed this story second in the series of the White Fir Bend . Piper and Kane's romance, as a shifter he knew with one whiff that she was his mate, and she knew as well, he being a bear her being a cougar. Not to give to much away, the story is about the shifter cult that Kane was abandoned by at the age of 14, which led him to Ranger and through him and joining the service the friendship of the other shifters in the unit. Kane wanted to rescue his mother from the abuse of the cult , that had girls of 12 marrying men old enough to be their fathers and grandfather's. Piper was there as a shifter fertility expert who was shocked and horrified by not only the young ages of the women but also the visible signs of abuse. This story has intrigue, violence, romance and finally a HEA ending. I'm sure you'll enjoy this story as well as others by this author. I received this copy as an ARC for an honest review

A very good second instalment in this new series. This one filled out background on the characters a bit more than the first book did and gave us more information on the rest of the team. Glad Eva and Booth from first book had a bit of time here too.
The story line moves at a good pace and keeps you waiting for what will happen next, I also just want to just shoot the men in this cult for how they treat women and young girls. I can understand the FBI and their go slow policy but I just wanted to kick them up the butt. How Kane did not kill Gerald I do not know.
Kane and Piper were so cute together after he stopped being an idiot male.
Cannot wait for Stryker and Del’s story. That will be interesting for the author to write due to Del being a victim of the cult and the abusive treatment she had from her so called husband. Not an easy subject to deal with well. And of course we want the bad guys dealt with.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Loved the concept of a shifter cult.
Just when we thought that because of their ability to shift into an animal they are strong we do forget they are still part human. Kane has returned after being thrown out of town, literally. His mission is to get his mom out but she refuse to leave. Thinking she stays because she has no one and nothing, he is given some shattering news. Piper is the doctor who was brought in to see about why the birth rate is so low. What she finds makes her sick and she wants out. While interviewing the women she meets someone who wants out as well. The woman is willing to testify about the cult, but how can they leave with everyone watching? When Piper and Kane meet it is instant attraction but they have a mission to accomplish. With the spy's and assassin on their trail will they be able to get out with women and be safe? Loved the suspense of the story and can't wait for the next chapter in the series.

Book two in the White Fir Bend Cult series and features Kane, a tiger shifter who grew up in the cult town and Piper, an OB doctor bought to the town by its leader to find out why the women of the town are not having anymore children. Kane wants to get his mom out of the town and goes back to get her, but when he gets there he finds out a few secrets and they send him wheeling. Piper learns some things that are happening in the town and it sets her on edge. When she meets Kane they know that they are mates but first they must save some of the women from the town. This was a quick hot story with a suspense element. This is a standalone with a continuing storyline. The next book in the series will be released soon so we don't have a long wait.

I received a copy of this book for a honest review.

Tiger Kane is a bear shifter who's mother is in trouble. So he ask his fellow Army Ranger buddies who are also shifters to help him get his mom away from the cult community where he grew up and his mom still lives there. With the help of his friends, Bowie who is a lion shifter, Stryker who is a dog shifter and Ranger who is a wolf shifter Kane heads off to the town of White Fir Bend. Once there he meets Dr. Piper Holmes who is there to study dropping fertility rates in the town.

I found this book to be interesting, action packed, well written and all around a great read. The characters are well developed and very likeable. The plot moves at a great pace and keeps your eager to keep reading to find out what it going to happen next. I recommend this book and series to all who like me love paranormal shifter books.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is the second book in the White Fir Bend Cult series by Tabitha Conall. Tiger Kane is a bear shifter and an Army Ranger. When he was fifteen years old, he was kicked out of the cult he grew up in. Now he is trying to rescue his mom from the cult leader. Dr. Piper Holmes agreed to come and study the dropping fertility rates in a shifter town. What she didn’t expect is the town to be a cult compound. When Kane and Piper meet then end up helping some women escape the cult. If you are looking for a great paranormal book with great characters then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
