I didn't expect to be lead down a path, that I had no intentions of revisiting, this trilogy covers the extremely sensitive subject of abuse. But what happens here is Nikki Sex deftly lead me on a path through sharp brambles, I hadn't expected when I started this trilogy, it quite literally took me by surprise!!

If I could broaden the definitions of words like “experience” and “journey” so that they properly conveyed the high levels of emotions, discomfort, understanding and ultimate safety I felt when reading this, well then I would use them. Nikki's expertise in the subject matter, is EXCEPTIONAL.

This kind of letting go while reading a story only happens when writers put their heart and soul into their work, their characters, Nikki Sex should be very proud of this trilogy it is OUTSTANDING.

With the guidance of the very charismatic Andre Chevalier the story of Grant Wilkinson and Renata Koreman concludes.

Grant and Renee are both exceptional characters, with complex issues, I loved watching Grant and Renata grow. Their journey in finding love, happiness and themselves . But I have to say my favourite character will always be the very enigmatic Andre.

One of my all time favourite characters ever, god that French accent I had going on in my head was delicious!!

If you haven't seen my reviews for ABUSE and ACCUSE, please take time to read them as they will convey how much of a journey I went on whilst reading this trilogy.

To Nikki,

Grant Wilkinson (the monster)and Renata Koreman (the mouse) finally get it all together! Woo hoo!

They somehow manage to address their inner demons amidst a backdrop of secrets, scandal, murder and abuse. AVENGE is full of healing, twists, turns and surprises. There's lots of SMOKING HOT sex, too! There is over 500 pages of reading in this last of the series. I'm REALLY happy with the end result.

Lets say this is not my cuppa. I know most readers will like this but not me.
3rd book of the series was the most boring one I skipped alot till last %20 also this was toooooo long:) it could be summed up like 100 pages most.

Grant and renata start living together immediately after grants brother alex and his wife went to rehab (because they caught using drugs while driving and their baby was with them????) renata start full time babysitting for grants nıece briley. Her days past waitin grant to have sex while babysitting:)))
In real life I've never had a chance to know a sex therapist but ın my opinion he/she will never be like Renata. Everytime I read renatas parts ı thought Her name should be changed as Cİnnamon or Sugar or sth tasty ;))) cause I feel like a prostıtude talking to her client all the time.
there is also a murder case running (grants fathers case) and someone trying to blame grant and put Him in jail for this. While police research, grants abusive fathers computer found in Grants office. The officer who looks for evidinces find a lot of photos about this case (abused children' photos) sends them to grant and others who abused by grants father. Danny (a friend of grant, he is also gay and his sister is in love with grant in long time) has a photo as a child too. Together danny and grant tried to find those who abused in early ages by grants father. Also the officer who found the photos murdered immediately after sending those photos and ofcourse police thought grant murdered him. The book goes on and on, like my summery, with long and unnecessary sentences:))

İt wasnt a totally crime book nor a romance book nor an erotic one. I have mixed feelings about this book. I always try to understand the writers feelings while writing their books but ı think she was also very confused while writing:)) crime or romance or erotica oooo ı found the perfect solution lets mix all of them:))
Ooohhh u think that ı forgot those therapy parts btw renata and grant... Nope ı didn't :) ı just think writer add those parts just for us:) to make us feel a little less guilty or ashamed about reading romance/erotic books. And to make us feel more like reading a serious book :)

Last of all I really couldn't understand how they found that much time for sex while there is a baby in the house:)) it's a real mystery and most unrealistic part of the book :))
Nah... :) ım just kiddng there are lots of them in the book...

More than 5 stars for this book and the whole series.

I’ve read other books by Nikki Sex but the “Abuse” series is by far my favorite as it has so many layers. This series is its own unique genre. Nikki Sex really went out of her “comfort zone” and she did it brilliantly. Respect!

This series is not only a (very, very hot) love story involving abused victims and all the psychological aspects of abuse but its’ also so much more: it’s a thriller!

In this third installment, all will be revealed and you’re in for some BIG surprises. I never saw it coming and I love when authors surprise me.

This final book ties up all the loose ends:

- Renata will confront her fears in a very, very sexy and courageous way. She’ll realize she also has a submissive streak but can only overcome her fears with Grant because she trusts him wholeheartedly.

- Grant rises to his full potential ladies! He’s travelled a long way to overcome his inhibitions and see himself as something else than a monster. He realizes that loving women, revering them does not mean treating them as breakable china dolls. A little kink in the bedroom is more than all right! He is a Dominant man, through and through and now he owns it, yes!

- Alongside this healing/love story, we follow the investigation around Grant’s father death. Let me tell you I never knew who the murderer was. Was it Grant? No, it was a dead end soon enough. Was it Alex? Was it Grant’s mother (maybe she realized what a monster her husband was and defended her kids for once?)? Was it one of his “partners in crime”? Someone else (another victim maybe)? Good luck to guess right! I love it when I can’t guess correctly. It means the author does a great job to keep us on our toes.

- We uncover what lies behind Grant’s abuse and the enormity of it will knock you right off your feet!

I loved the writing, how Nikki always knows how to use the right word to describe something awful. She does not sugarcoat it she gives it plain and simple but always with the utmost respect for the abused victims. I’m in awe each and every time. She uses the right balance between erotic/dark/funny/enlightening and tender.
She also has deep reflections not only about abuse but also about life in general that make you really think and even reconsider your position in some matters. I love when a book pushes me to reconsider my position, my beliefs, even unsettling me because that’s how “real life “works. Nothing is ever “static” but everything is always evolving.

I also love the humor, used to lighten what could be sometimes too serious ”André is like Catnip to women” (I loved that one!) or when Grant was forced to run the family business as every other family member was "incapacitated" one way or another ” It’s like a macabre version of The Highlander: There can only be one!”. You can also always count on Mitten, that smart cat to brighten the mood.

I was very happy with the epilogue, it left me with a bittersweet taste (don’t worry, fans of HEA won’t be disappointed) something to ponder on for days after I’ve read the book.

This book is also a goldmine if you are interested in learning about abused victims and abusers. Not only does Nikki gives some facts about real “affairs” and statistics but she also describes how abused victims see themselves, the Hell they live in each day and how exhausting it can be to keep the pretense that “everything is fine, I’m normal”. Some cope with addiction (alcohol, drugs), some completely occult what happened to them and “forget” it until one day it comes back and their world explodes. She writes all about their many conflicting emotions, as taboo as they can be, like the love or feelings you can have for your abuser, the jealousy you can feel towards other kids abused by “your” abuser, as irrational as it can be, the guilt and the disgust… It was a roller coaster of emotions masterfully executed.

You won’t find another Nikki Sex, she has her own touch and magic with such delicate/sensitive matters. Well done Nikki!

And for all the Edgars of the world, I would like to use one of my favorite quotes, one I find so true and so important: ”We all meet many unsung heroes throughout our lives.”

Wow. What a powerful and overwhelming story. Overwhelming is really the key word for me here. I loved Grant and Renata. I am so absolutely thrilled for them to have been able to find each other. Andre is a genius, introducing "The Monster and The Mouse". And yes, as always for me, the real star of this show is Andre. I truly adore him.

In AVENGE, the depth and scope of how far reaching the abuse that has taken place, and is still taking place is revealed. This is where the overwhelming part of the book takes place for me. It is staying in my head and I keep imagining the far reaching consequences that are yet to happen as a result of vile, perverted evil people; whom I don't think fully got what they deserved. I don't know what else could have been done, but something extremely painful. That sounds disturbing, I know, but it's how I feel. Susie, Sammy, Pearl, Miss Buttercup... along with countless others. This makes my heart hurt. Not all of them could possible find an Andre or even their "monster to their mouse" to be able to heal from this. Some will though, I hope. I'm taking this very literally, I know, but the very sad truth of the matter is that this is happening to some degree right now. In real life! I feel slightly depressed and I don't like this feeling after finishing a book. So I should say, it is not the author's fault this was not a five star read for me. It is my own because I really should stay away from such devastatingly heart wrenching subject matters. I can't take the real.

Happy reading

Holy wow! This one just blew me away as all the mysteries are revealed. The secrets run deeper than I ever expected! Grant and Renata learn to rely on each other as they move through the obstacles that arise. With Andre’s advice in the forefront of their minds, they both struggle to make decisions and changes that will help to alter their current life as well as their futures.

There is a ton of sex as Grant continues to work through some of his issues but I loved how Renata was always attuned to his needs. The secondary characters play a bigger role and were done in an exceptional manner, supporting the plotline and helping to move the story along.

I truly enjoyed everything about this book and this series.

We finally get the ending and what an ending it was. I think have never shed so many tears over a book in my life. My husband thought I was insane. It was a great ending to the wonderful series. I only gave it four stars because it tended to drag in the middle and I really wanted it to get to the point.

It sadness me that this book is not just fiction in some ways. There is so much evil out there and they prey on young children. It is so sad that the abuse one suffers at an early age can just wreck your whole life unless you deal with it. The whole family had issues that they suppressed and the results were disastrous. I am glad the author showed how the victim is just that a victim. They are not to blame and should be ashamed. I like how she gave us the whole spectrum of victim to show how each person deals with things in a different way. I also liked how she showed how standing up to the abuse can make a difference in so many ways.

Even though this was a very deep, deep topic, the author let the love shine through in the story. Grant and Renata re wonderful together and balance each other out. Their story is touching and beautiful. You can see how much they have grown from the first book and how much they love each other. They really show how a relationship should be: honest, beautiful, hot, and full of love. They are wonderful!!!

This was a touching ending to the other three books. It truly made you think and understand in so many ways. This is not for the faint of heart. This book is very dark at times, but the author let the characters see the light which makes it very uplifting and positive. In the world to day that is very important.

This was a great series of books, but you do have to read them all to understand everything. It is well worth it and it will touch you.

What a fabulous end to a great trilogy!! Avenge is the third book in the series and depicts the romance between Grant Wilkinson and Renata Koreman. These two are perfect for each other, and the author does an amazing job of showing their growth as individuals and as a couple. The two compliment each other. We see the extent of the childhood abuse that Grant suffered and as the true depravity is unraveled, we're glued to the pages to find out the mystery. I loved all the elements of this story. It's everything you can ask for in a book. Romance. Erotica (well written hot sex!) And a mystery. I love the fact that the author tackles some very real issues and doesn't sugar coat them. This book is intelligent, gripping, and entertaining. I highly recommend.

"AVENGE" This third book of the series is what "ABUSE" & "ACCUSE" have been leading up to.... the romance between Grant Wilkinson and Renata Koreman has grown into everything Andre' Chevalier could have hoped for. When Grant came to Andre' (in need of therapy) he put "the monster together with the little mouse" in the hope that they would heal each other. Grant now believes he has the best of both worlds. It turnes out Renata, his sex therapist is also his soul mate. They compliment one another in all things, especially in the bedroom, or any room for that matter! They continue therapy in the most erotic ways.... but an adult that has been abused as a child has many obsticals that must be addressed before life can be anywhere near normal. If that abuse was sexual, even harder. If that sexual abuse was at the hand of someone the child should have been able to trust ...Well, I think you can see where this is going. We see the full depth, depravity, and lengths people will go to in order to keep their secrets. I'm talking about wealthy, well educated, and connected people, some in high places. People that can frame you for murder, or make your death look like a sucide. There are secrets within secrets covering up other secrets. No wonder these sex rings are so hard to take down. But at least for this story, our beloved Andre' Chevalier has come up with a plan. Why would Andre' do this you may ask? It seems our favorite frenchman has kept a little secret of his own....I was so enthralled by this whole Trilogy, but this last installment is not only an erotic romance, but a mystery/suspense/detective novel all rolled into one.

Incredibly emotional, hard to read at times but well worth it in the end. I'm misting up as we speak, finding it hard to put into words how I felt about this book. If you've read the first two, don't delay. Great trilogy by a great author.

Firstly, this is not a standalone book, the series needs to be read in order.

Secondly, OMG what an ending to this captivating trilogy, each book has been better than the last and the ending was everything I could have hoped for and more.

While the themes of child abuse are disturbing, this is a taboo topic that needs to be talked about more and this series speaks of it in a respectful and realistic way.

I enjoyed seeing Renata and Grant both healing, coming to some much needed and important realizations and finding love and support with each other. The chemistry between them and the open and honest communication is beautiful and inspiring.

I cannot recommend the series highly enough.

The narration is excellent, the character voices are great and the delivery manages to convey so much emotion while staying true to the nature of the characters.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

I feel Avenge(d). Nikki Sex gave me everything I wanted to wrap this series up. I am both happy and sad. I enjoyed how this all unraveled before my eyes.

Everyone who listened/read this book will feel it in the end. I was happy the way Nikki Sex made the world a better place in Avenge but so sad that it is only fiction. Imagine the impact that kind of legislation would have in the real world. (It brought tears to my eyes.)

Avenge is has its own superheroes. You've met most of them theough the course of this series but you aren't done yet. Andre will always be my favorite therapist and the glimpse you get of his story is enough to make any reader tear up.

So much good in this devastating story of Abuse...

I orginally had a hard time connecting to the characters but no longer. Renata, Andre, and Grant will always be friends I can look back on fondly. (My husband is a big fan of Renata! 😉)

Avenge or revenge?

In spite of a lot of sex by characters as adults, this series has a great deal of information about child abuse, and about the challenges of successful treatment for the survivors. If you can avoid the graphic sex to feel the pain of those who were mistreated and ignored, these books offer helpful guides and theropy methods to break thru the blocks that keep the memories in check and prevent real improvement. It is sad that there really are huge numbers of children trapped in sexual slavery and prostitution for those with the ability to pay in every country in the world.

Keep your eyes and ears open to the possibilities and carefully report anonymously any suspected incidents. Your life may be in danger if you are not careful. But be responsible for helping and not hurting others.

This final book in the series is a surprise twist. André will do anything to help Renata and Grant continue to heal. He becomes the true hero in this last book. So many questions are answered, so many relationships healed or have closure. This conclusion was perfect for Grant and Renata. This series shows how even one incident of physical, sexual or emotional abuse can affect a person for life. I loved every word and did not want this story to end.

Robert Scarlato is the true hero of this story. He has a way of narrating every emotion to make the listener feel it as the characters do. Mr. Scarlato brings out the best and the worst of each character and makes the story easy to follow. I loved the consistency of one narrator for this series.

The characters are amazing and the story is fantastic...what a great way to heal! I do love Andre and how they speak so highly of him throughout the entire trilogy.
I personally find the amount of internal monologs annoying and page fillers but after finishing the trilogy I have to give props they are what made this story interesting, especially with the subject matter.
This book is well written and I am in love with the characters and the story, but the ending is so anticlimactic....seeing the story been stretched through 3 books I find that it just isn't as satisfying of an ending I was hoping for.

Best quote description/ Summary :

I did enjoy this much more than Accuse. It was an emotional conclusion. I loved how the author shows the effects abuse has on adults and just how deep the pain goes.

We find answers to the mysteries, there is a lot about the murder case. It was detective drama, mystery, erotica all rolled into one. The author did a good job on her research and portraying the emotional toll in a realistic way.

Oh noooo, I'm at 21% and I just can't stand the explaining, the all-knowing attitude of Renata. Nothing has actually happened in the book yet, just talking and Renata talking from some high-ground of knowledge. I feel like I'm reading a study-book. Why is the writer doing this? I'm out of the story and feel like someone is giving me a class on child abuse, maybe I should take notes?

The more I read of André, the more I don’t like him. I still love Grant and Renata together, although much of their relationship seems too easy given what they have both been through. That being said, I was happy with the way things ended, even though it seemed a bit rushed.

I loved the first book in this trilogy and the story had me hooked wanting to know more. The second book was really a little drawn out for me, there was way too much length put into not so hot sex scenes that were really just therapy for Grant with Renata.

This book was much better as far as pacing the story but reading them back to back, I still skimmed some of the sex scenes. I was really more interested in the story this time than the sex, imagine that. The story itself with all the twists and turns was really good, although I figured out in the second book who the killer was but reading it all unfold still kept me interested.

I just wasn't feeling Renata in this one though. She was always just okay to me for some reason while I felt for her, I just wasn't crazy about her. Then when she actually planned to continue her previous work after getting with Grant, sorry she just lost me there. I can't believe she would be so dense that she thought she would keep on doing what she had been doing and he would be okay with it. I felt Grant had a valid reason for getting upset considering the two things he was hit with that day. I tried not to judge her whole, um, occupation and how much she loved it but this was just too much for me. I was still happy for them but she kind of annoyed a few times in this book.

By the end of this story there were only a few of the main characters that I really felt anything for and that was Grant, Zach, and Alex. Betty Jo and their mother, nothing justifies the way they behaved for me. I hated them from beginning to end, I just didn't have a whole lot of sympathy for them considering the whole picture in this story. I loved that Zach got some sort of justice, especially after his family completely turned their backs on him. Actually I really loved Zach and he probably wasn't really a main character but he was a larger than life character.

Of course there was also Edgar, the epilogue with Roman visiting him was really a great touch.

So with all that said while several things didn't really work for me overall I really liked this story. There were a few things I would have liked to have an update on like that asshole Stan but then again I really don't care what happens to him, hopefully it's all crappy.

There were so many side characters that I got attached to in this story and honestly could have read updates about these people forever. So it's probably a good thing that it was ended for me and it was definitely a bittersweet ending.

So until the next one hopefully with lots more Andre....
