Jessica Wood writes contemporary romance.

While she has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there’s something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.

She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can’t resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.

She loves to travel internationally, and tries to plan a yearly trip abroad. She also loves to cook and bake, and—to the benefit of her friends—she loves to share. She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she’s up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn’t a joke.

And it goes without saying, she loves books—they’re like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry.

The one thing she wished she had more of is time.

************MAJOR SPOILERS**********

Husband goes away to Milan at the whim of a major client who happens to be a crazy ex.He does not inform his wife who is pregnant. His excuse is he did not want to stress her.Wife gets message to hurry to Milan & sees demented ex naked in her husband's shirt. A cat fight ensues. This incident is later explained away as a manipulation tactic perpetrated by the ex via the husband who claims innocence. There is no reckoning or confrontation by the husband.

Now I know this book was short but it had way too much significant drama & too convenient short explanations.

Amber the demented ex is a major client of the firm, but there appears to be no repercussions when she is assaulted by the hero's wife. Why did she not press charges or inform the firm that she was attacked by a jealous wife. The firm would have sided with her or at least the law.

The Hero:

I had been initially hesitant to meet her in Milan—the guilt of hiding this from Chloe had been tearing me up inside. But it was what Amber wanted, and I wanted to keep her happy so she didn’t hire me.....

What does he mean exactly?I though the purpose of the trip was to secure a contract for his firm & get hired. And how far did he have to go to keep her "happy"?This was left unspoken.

The hero's father John appears to be a sinister psychopath yet is allowed entry into their home. This negates the hero's speech of ensuring his wife of having a stress free pregnancy as his father is his wife's ex lover,a convict on the run & a crazy ex at that.

The Hero:

If you want John and Amber to leave right now, I’ll ask them to leave right now. If you want to cause a scene, scream, and vent out some of your frustration against John and Amber, I’ll be the first person to grab a thick slice of the honey ham and smack it across Amber’s face.”

Amber is the major client he is talking about again. The contract his firm wanted him to keep happy. The one he kept a big secret from wife & he talks so cavalier about hitting her now.

I like detail even in novelettes & this one was constructed a bit too flimsy so even if he said he did not cheat,Amber the ex seemed to be a bit too secure to show up at his home even after his wife bitch smacked her.

SPOILER****Not really impressed with this book. I felt it was to much. I love you, I love you too, your the best, oh I love you so much, oh and I love you. Ok I get it their madly in love. Where's the drama. Every time drama started it ended within 1 paragraph. Now let's chat about the bitch in the book, Amber. I know if my husband ex-girlfriend fingered herself in front of me and said the nasty thing Amber said, I would have done more than punch her. Then when she runs into Jackson running out of the hotel he does freak out when he learns about Ambers behavior. Really I'd kill my husband for not putting her in her place. Then she shows up at your Christmas dinner and again not throw out on her ass. I was more upset that Jackson didn't tell Amber off. I didn't like how John and Amber die in a car crash and there's no emotion from Jackson or Chloe. Not that they where my favorite characters but really. If your gonna kill them off at least give them a paragraph or two.
Please don't let my not so good review keep you from reading the series. For the most part I liked it.

Promises, Love and Baby is the fourth book in the Promises series. Chloe and Jackson are happily married with a baby on the way. You can feel the love and devotion coming off of the pages. There are so many funny and sweet moments in this book. However; their love will be tested and you will be screaming at what happens! Get ready for some loving, laughter and angst! I promise you that you won't be disappointed!!

Nice ending to the series. There's a little bit of angst (two unexpected characters from the past make an unwanted appearance) Both the main characters have grown up and matured, so they don't freak out at the first sign of trouble.

Some cute, warm moments. Glad to see them finally get their HEA.

So in the previous book Chloe moved in with Jax. Then this book starts and now they are back in his childhood house....?? Did I miss something or catch something? No mention of a job change but the childhood home was not close enough to be at the same job. Sorry just my OCD jumping in there.

Still love their story. There needed to be some kind of great scene of Chloe putting Amber in her place and Jax also needed the same with dear old disgusting dad.

Definitely recommend this series.

The circle of life.

This book is a follow-up after the trilogy. You really should read those first. Or you will be lost for this. This books is about life after marriage for Chloe and Jackson. And people they both never wanted to see again came back in to their lives. Well worth the read to see what happened next.

Really loved this series and this was a great way to finish it off. Going to miss these characters and their charm but the way the story unfolds and ends is very worthwhile! Great series and will be looking for this author more often!!

I have so many thoughts in my head. First of all, why does the author have a perverted obsession with plot twists?! Secondly, I'm glad John and Amber are dead. Thirdly, I would like to read a book about Adam and Sofia lol. History repeats itself. Fourth, I need a man like Jackson.

“5” Thumbs Up
Promises, Love and Baby Jessica Wood
What an absolute perfect ending to a great little series about two kids growing up together and totally falling in love. Through all the bumps in the road Chloe and Jackson get their HEA and Promises, Love and Baby is simply the icing on the cake.
Don’t get me wrong this read had all the angst and frustration as the first three. There were some major twists that I never saw coming. And I can honestly say I HATE AMBER. That being said I was sooooooooo satisfied at the end of the read. Remember what goes around comes around and all ended perfect for Jax and Chloe.
I highly recommend you start with “Promise to Marry” where it all begins, then off to Promise to Keep, Promise of Forever and conclude with Promises Love and Baby. You so will not be disappointed.

A lovely conclusion to the Promises series. Jackson and Chloe was married in the previous book and now they are about to have a baby. Many things are changing for them like Aunt Betty and Uncle Tom have moved to Florida so they aren't just right there anymore. Jackson is working hard and trying to get a promotion to become Vice President of the company he works for. Two people they thought were out of their life for good are back and it's not good. They bring drama and negative things but Jackson and Chloe find a way past it with their love. They were friends for a very long time and their love is a wonderful and everlasting thing.

Definitely worth reading.

I read all the books in the Promise series and felt it ended nicely at the end of the Promise of Forever. This new book was coming out and I was excited to read it since it had more of Chloe and Jackson.
I thought the book was alright, but would've done fine if it had ended in a trilogy. I don't understand Amber's sick obsession with Chloe and Jackson that has gone into adulthood and neither why Jackson's dad came back. He said he wanted to make amends, but was it really to see Chloe again?
Love the books, but I thought this one was a bit jumbled in the plot line.

Great ending for a fantastic series!!

This book was a great read. I loved reading this series because I was easily sucked into their world and felt like I was a bystander in their lives. I loved that this book had some much needed confrontations that I was happy to see resolved. I also loved how this book wasn't just sugar coated like some books are I believe that this is what makes the story believable. I was sad to see this series end.

I feel like this novella wasn't necessary to write. It suddenly turned into a ridiculous soap opera with people returning from the dead. And I was completely over the Amber thing as well. Why is that every woman Chloe knows is characterized as a cheating/vindictive woman? The fact that she is in her early thirties and has no positive female friends in her life is ridiculous.

A longer epilogue would have sufficed at the end of book 3 for the baby.

Promises, Love, & Baby!

Loved getting to have more of Jax and Clo's story! Wood really shocked me with the reappearance of that one character. I was definitely NOT expecting that! This book was like an extra long epilogue and I loved it! I see a potential for Sophie and Adam a story!

I absolutely loved Promises, Love and baby, I couldn't put it down. I loved Chloe and Jackson. Their story is beautiful and heart warming. There was anger, excitement, laughter and love. Will Chloe and Jacksons love for each other be strong enough to get pass the secrets from the past which could threaten to break them apart? You wont be disappointed to read the promises series.

Brilliant

I loved the book just like I did the 3 before it.
It was so nice to find out what had happened to the 2 main characters after the end of book 3. Once again I was pulled bingo the story. I cried I laughed wanted to kick the carp out off a couple of people in the book.
Once again Jessica Woods has written one hell of a brilliant book.

Promises are a great read. I enjoyed the series and recommend them!!

All books in this series are well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed each book and will continue reading this author. I like to read a series in the order written so this thoroughly meets that criteria and gives the reader a glimpse into the life cycle of the subjects.

Love it

There were parts in the story that had my heart racing. I don't like that feeling and it's the same thing I got from teasers. I don't need to be gutted and in the end I could not have read a better story.

What a great ending

This one had the past to come back and with more than one surprise. Jackson is still in love with Chloe and trying to make the best living he can. Chloe will do anything to make Jax happy. Super sweet and drama filled book.
