What is it about the town of Tidal Falls that makes me yearn for the next book by Jacquie Biggar? Could it be the larger-than-life men and their penchant for attracting danger? Could it be the strong-willed women who love their men, not caring if their life is in peril? Whatever it is, I love it!

Katy’s come home to Tidal Falls to get married in the soon-to-be restored Twilight Theatre (owned by her father). When she meets the contractor, Ty Garrett, time stands still. Ty, her first love, stands between her and the wedding she desperately craves. Working in such close proximity is a recipe for disaster, considering how they went down in flames years ago.

Ty Garrett never forgot Katy and from the moment he sees her in the parking lot, he knows he’s in trouble. He’s still in love with her but she’s engaged to another. But Ty’s got other issues: accidents keep happening at the Twilight Theatre, one even threatens the life of the woman he loves. Can Ty stop the one responsible before it’s too late?

This is book three in the Wounded Hearts series and this has got to be my favorite. The author wove steamy romance with heart-pounding suspense and I didn’t want it to end. The suspense made my pulse race and I didn’t know who was responsible until the author revealed it. There were intense moments, especially between Ty and Katy, and I even gasped a few times. If you love Romantic Suspense, pick up this book right now!

Favorite Character: Ty Garrett. I loved Ty and how tormented he was. My heart broke for him and I wanted him and Katy to be together. Their history, dating back to high school, made me swoon and when Ty cooked for Katy, I melted on the spot. He’s a book boyfriend and will make every woman swoon.

Favorite Quote: “God Katy, please say yes.”

Katy and Ty met as teens and were destined for an HEA until circumstance drove them apart. Katy moved with her mom out of state, putting Ty and small-town life in Tidal Falls behind her. Now, years later, she returns with the intent of getting married in her hometown. She has become a cardiac surgeon, engaged to a real estate developer who is the exact opposite of Ty. Her plan is to have her wedding in the old theater her family owned when she was a child, now being remodeled by Ty’s construction company.

As expected, sparks fly when Katy and Ty reconnect. Biggar takes her characters through a gamut of emotions from denial and regret to the longing of two hearts that have never truly separated. Danger lurks in incidents of sabotage at the theater and a shadowy stalker who has Katy in his sites.

This is book three of a series, and although it does help to have some understanding of the secondary characters and their relationships, the main story reads easily as a standalone. The characters feel like neighbors. I love the small-town setting and how so many lives intertwine. The author is a pro at writing feel-good romance. I loved the inclusion of an abandoned kitten for extra warm fuzzies and an ending that delivers a perfect HEA.

Ty Garrett had his heart broken as a teen and never recovered from the experience. So when his old love returns to town years later with plans to marry another, he's justifiably upset.
To complicate matters, Ty's company is contracted to do the renovations for the wedding venue, the Twilight Theatre.
When strange accidents occur and Katy's life is endangered, can Ty overcome his anger to save her and give their love a second chance, or is it too late?
I loved writing about these characters. There was so much emotional baggage they both had to overcome that I wasn't sure if they could ever achieve their HEA.
The villain kept me guessing who it would be until I was most of the way through the book.
I really enjoyed how everything turned out in the end, and it was nice touching base with some of the characters from previous Tidal Falls novels.
Looking forward to the next in the series.

Romance with suspense

What a captivating story. Twilight's Encore is the third book
of Wounded Hearts series. This is Ty's and Katy's story, i have
to say what a beautiful story!!! Ty Garrett fell in love with Katy Fowler
from the first time he laid eyes on her, but something happening and they split
years later Katy returns home to get married and she runs into Ty who is the renovate contractor
for the place she marries. When something happens and Katy's life is endangered Ty's leaves behind
his anger hops in to help saving and their heat will ignite once again. Will they give a second in their
love??

A very beautifully written book with a great mixture, very enjoyable characters, suspense with good twists,
very realistic story (the author did a fine job in this area) main characters with great chemistry.

I fell in love with Ms. Biggar's writing style when I read the 1st Book in the Wounded Heart's series (Tidal Falls). She has a gift for bringing to life a story.

This is Ty and Katy's story. Katy is returning to her small home town to get married in her families old theater. Ty, the local contractor, knows Katy want's the building ready for her wedding but he thinks he will be working for her father. But he soon learns differently when Katy waltzes into town to oversee the remodel. You see Katy took off and broke Ty's heart years ago..

When trouble follows Katy to town can the they forget the past and work together to figure out what's happening around them? Does the unknown bring them closer together or cause more struggles between them?

This is a very heartwarming, suspenseful book that will have you cheering for the good guys all the way to the end. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and Can't wait for Book 4 in the Wounded Hearts series.

What a great installment to the Wounded Hearts series!!!! Ty and Katy's story takes place simultaneously to that of Jared and Annie's in The Rebel's Redemption. Having read that story first added to the understanding of the background events but one could read this as a stand alone just fine. Ty and Katy have a past and some big issues standing between them. As work to renovate their beloved Twilight Theater is threatened, so is Katy's safety. A great story with just the right balance of romance and suspense!!
Thank you Mrs. Biggar for another incredible read!!!! I cant wait to see who's next...Jack? Kyle? Mitch & Rebecca? Angie? So many hearts to heal!!

An Amazing Story!! This is the first book I have read by Jacquie Biggar and I Loved Loved Loved it!! Although it is 3rd in a series it is a great stand alone book.

Ty and Katy have a past..... now she is back to plan her wedding to another man. Ty is man hired to restore the Twilight Theater, the venue for Katy's wedding. Things start going wrong and the restorations are threatened, along with Katy's life. There are a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing and of course rooting for Ty and Katy to work out their obstacles, misunderstandings and pent up resentment.

I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series as well.
This is a definite must read!!

Wow the women in these stories certainly get hurt a lot. I guess it’s part of the suspense but I wish we could have a little less pain and more love and mystery. Anyway, good book and writing is interesting.

I have enjoyed the first two books of Wounded Hearts, so I was happy to see them back in Tidal Falls planning a wedding. Katy left town ten years ago with her mother and leaving Ty broken-hearted. She is a doctor now, coming back to supervise her wedding plans to another man. The old theater is being redone for her nuptials, and the man doing it is Ty. Sparks immediately fly between Katy and Ty while someone is trying to disrupt the renovation of the old building. A secret surprised me, and there was a person with negative intentions toward Katy. Since this is set in basically the same time frame as book two, there is no update on what happened to Maggie, which didn’t take away from this story. "Twilight’s Encore" can easily be read without reading the first two books, but it’s better to have the background on the secondary characters. I’m eager to start the next book to see what happens next in this great series!

"Twilight's Encore" (Wounded Hearts Book 3) by Jaquie Biggar

A few months ago the old Fowler family cabin was where a standoff took place between Jarod and his friends from his SEAL team against Russian mafia magnate Barnikov.

Now one member of the Fowler family has come back to Tidal Falls for a few weeks: Katy Fowler. Katy is now a heart surgeon in LA and has decided she wanted to get married in the Tidal Falls theatre. The they're has been in disrepair for many, many years, but is a historical site in Tidal Falls.

Ty Garrett has been restoring old homes for several years and then was offered the job of restoring the theatre. When he took on the job, he knew the place was owned by the Fowler family, but he was not aware it was being redone for Katy's wedding or that Katy would be there for the last month and a half of the restoration. If he had known, despite the money and the prestigious job of fixing a place that also had history for him, he would have turned the job down. You see he and Katy had dated for over two years and then she suddenly left for LA. They never really talked about it. He was shocked she would follow her family and she was upset he didn't ask her to stay or follow her. Hence, a very bad and bitter ending that never was resolved.

Upon seeing each other again, it is clear that the chemistry is still there, but despite it, Katy and Ty just can't figure out how to be civil with one another.

This back and forth dynamic between Ty and Katy continues for fair amount at the beginning of the novel: wanting to be together, attracted to each other, wanting to spend time together, yet the fiancé and the past get in the way and the pattern starts over.

About a 1/4 of the way through, the novel picks up. Mysterious things are happening at the renovation site. There are random spotting of a guy no one has ever seen. Ty tries to tell Katy about the other things that have been happening, but she doesn't really take him seriously...until she attacked right outside the alley of Grace's restaurant. He gets spooked and runs, shoots a bystander then leaves town for a bit.

During this time, the incidents with Barnikov in town are also taking place (these are in Book 2). As things mysteriously continue at the theatre and around town from two different people, it is hard for Katy to feel fully safe unless she is with Ty. The both are also aware that the old feelings have me we disappeared for either one of them. While they are working in resolving the past for closure, the incident with Barnikov has moved to the farm. Ramsey is getting more and more set in his plan to kidnap Katy as part of his payment to stop the renovations of the theatre. He soon has set his plan in motion and only time and ingenuity will determine Katy and Ramsey's fate, who hired Ramsey, and who she will be walking down the theatre isle to marry.

I was impressed by the way the author carried over the events from book 2 during the overlapping time period. She did so with references and descriptions of where other characters were. She did a great job ensuring that at a set time period a specific character was not written into the novel. Ms Biggar also utilized flashbacks or intimations of certain characters so that she was able to have this novel overlap the incidents taking place at the Fowler Farm. It was a great technique that added to the novel without being too detailed.

The one thing I kept looking for was the backstory from Book 2 about the journey of Frank and Adam to find Maggie. It never arose in this novel. And time wise, that makes sense as they would have just set out after the Fowler Farm incident. Perhaps in Book 4 or 5 we will learn a little more. If not, I am hoping the author will be writing Maggie's story soon.

Sometimes Love Conquers All

Twilights Encore is the third book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. While this book is part of a series, this book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel with ease.

The beginning of the story leaves you wondering how this book will turn out. At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a wonderful job of creating a world that was very realistic. I was able to picture the place and time frame with ease. The author did a great job of pulling the reader into the world she created. The pace of the story was a bit slow at some points and fast is others. The main characters and the secondary characters were stimulating and believable. I liked that both Ty and Katy each were not perfect and each had faults that they had to deal with making them realistic.

The point of view alternated between Ty and Katy, giving the reader a glimpse inside both characters. The changing point of view was done with care so the reader did not get lost or repeat story lines. The main conflict of the story is the danger in town is heating up pushing both Ty and Katy back together. The level of conflict is perfect, anymore more conflict and it would have overwhelmed the storyline. The dialogue between the characters was frank and distinct. The characters voice matched not only the setting but fit their overall personality. The ending was a bit predictable but kept you on the edge of your seat wondering how it would turn out. I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.

Successful surgeon and small town girl, Katy, comes home in order to oversee the renovations of her family’s theater where she is planning to have her wedding. But the man in charge of the theater renovation is her first love, and first lover, Ty. Their love didn’t die, it was merely embers banked, and flared back to life once they got past their old pain. She drops her fiancée to begin again with Ty. While they bask in their rekindled love, an insidious enemy is using the theater as his playground and causing havoc by staging accidents and causing setbacks.

Ramsey is a special kind of evil, creepy, and skeevy. He enjoys the job he was hired to do, and sees Katy as a bonus for a job well done. Ty, Kyle (Katy’s twin), Jack (the sheriff) join forces to save Katy from the twisted hands of Ramsey and find out who is behind all of the destruction and mayhem at the theater, the equally demented mother of the bride. In the end, she gets the wedding of her dreams to the man of her teenaged dreams.

I have not read other stories in the Wounded Hearts story, but Ty and Katy’s story can easily be read as a standalone book. Ty has loved Katy for years, but when Katy’s parents split up she chooses to leave town to take care of her mother. She thinks she has left her old life behind and is even engaged to be married to someone else. However she wants to get married in her family’s Twilight Theatre.

Something pulls her back to the town that she grew up in, and there she must confront her past love. The only trouble is Ty is now in charge of restoring the theatre for her wedding, and there is no way that he is over her. Unfortunately all kinds of accidents are hampering the progress of the restoration. A man is killed and Katy is taken hostage, will she never get the chance to own up to the love in her heart for Ty? Or is she destined to get married in the Twilight Theatre with the man of her dreams?

Coming home has never been sweeter! The spark between teenage sweethearts, Ty Garrett and Katy Fowler, has never died...but it flames brighter than ever when ten years later they meet on the steps of the Twilight Theatre (which Ty is renovating for Katy's upcoming marriage to a rich developer). Loved this opposites-attract story between a hardworking restoration business owner and a brilliant cardiac surgeon who now calls California home...although her heart has always stayed in Tidal Falls with Ty. In every story she writes, Ms Biggar adds new characters I can't wait to read more about. This time it's Katy's brother Kyle who will hopefully be the hero of a future story in this wonderful series.

I loved this book. The storyline and the characters are well developed. This is not a story of what might have been but what should have been all along. When true love is wounded by the actions of life. Two young lovers are torn apart, anger, hurt feelings and life get in the way. Neither of the young couple reach out to each other and try to fix what has been broken. But time and maturity has a way of forgiving their past sins. This book was an enjoyable read.

Jacquie Biggar continues her Wounded Hearts Series. I like how she can keep your interest and make you want more. Ty Garrett is commissioned by Katy Fowler's dad to refurbish their family theater so she can get married in it. Ty is behind on his deadline, will he be able to finish in time. Katy comes to oversee the renovations. Can Katy and Ty keep their past relationship out of the way? Will there be sparks? Will they rekindle their past love?

Twilight's Encore

Ty and Katy were teenage sweethearts, determined to spend their lives together. When Katy moved away with her mother they never talked until years later when Katy returned home for her wedding. Ty was restoring the old theater for Katy's wedding. Trying to convince himself he was over her. Then her life was in danger and Ty could no longer ignore his feelings.
Plenty of suspense and romance. Enjoy the characters and the small town.

A well told story, except, we didn't get to find out how Katy's mother had manipulated her and coerced her into giving up her baby, not were there any details about her search for her son, hence down 1 star for the review. As usual there was plenty of suspense.
