Introducing part 2 of Claire Adams' new hot Navy SEAL romance series...
Ava Klein is a college student with a dark secret. In order to protect Ava, her father has hired Brian Flynn, a former Navy SEAL with a secret of his own. Resentful of her absent father's attempt to intrude on her life, Ava searches for a way to get rid of Brian, but a frightening run-in with the past sends Ava running straight into Brian's arms and leaves her wondering if his interest in her is professional or if there is more the strong silent soldier isn't telling her.
With her ex not wanting Ava to be happy he threatens not only Ava but Brian as well. When Ava buts a stop to her & Brian, but how long can that last? The chemistry is there even though they infuriate each other. Can't wait to see where the story goes
My oh my... am I a glutton for punishment or what?
This second part of the serial is even more awful than the first. The writing has devolved to even further infantile levels than the first part.
Ava is even more of a spoiled brat than before. It seems as if every time she opens her mouth she is contradicting her characterization from one moment to the next. One minute she's terrified of her ex, the next she's in denial there's even a problem. One minute she's all 'kiss me now', and the next she's 'go away, I want nothing to do with you.'
Brian is portrayed no better. One minute he's all professional, then the next he's a horny quarterback wanting to get into Ava's pants. Maybe I should say pseudo-professional. No bodyguard who is serious about protecting his charge would roll over as quickly as Brian does with Ava's antics. You can't have it both ways and still be believable.
Seriously, avoid this series like the plague if you're looking for an even passably believeable scenario. Neither character is very likable, and have few redeeming qualities. The dialog, as in the first part sounds like it's written by a teenager and does little to help the extremely thin plot. The level of writing is childish at best. The romantic portions are so laughably cliche and cringe-worthy in both their content and the way they are written.
Run... Run now. Run fast and far and find something else to read.
So far this book has been pretty unoriginal. Ava is giving Brian a hard time. Trying to run away from him or thwart him at every turn. Brian stays calm even though you know he wants to freak out on this spoiled brat. She has little regard for anyone else or even for her own safety. Pretty tame story so far.
Ava is a spoiled little rich girl. Shes away at college and meets a boy. He turns into a controlling psychopath. She tries to leave him and he becomes violent.
Ava's father is a wealthy man. He wants to protect his daughter, so he hires an ex navy man to be her bodyguard. Ava takes offense to that. Her father has really never been in her life....shipping her off to boarding schools and standing her up all the time. He throws money at her to try to make up for his lack of being a father. Ava wants to take care of herself. He father wont listen to reason.
In walks hot, sexy, Brian. Not your typical bodyguard. He watches every move Ava makes, but is he doing it to protect her, or is it something more??? We all know the answer to that question. Shes hot....hes hot....sparks are gonna fly.
Protected by an über sexy bodyguard, Ava has difficulty separating her interest in Brian and their employer/employee relationship. Can she admit her feelings? Will Brian share his desires? Claire Adams did not disappoint. Protector 2 is a quick story with humor and sexy time. I can't wait for book 3!
Ava and Brian, are so drawn to each other, the pull, sparks, emotions, just the caring from him as he protects her grows into so much more. This is a romantic/ suspense story, the ex is mean, and is after Ava, what on earth will he do to get what he wants? Cannot wait for next bk.
It's just ok. I love Claire Adams writing and her hot as he'll sex seems. But I just can't really get into the story this time. Maybe e will be better.
