***5-STAR REVIEW***

This is the story of Sunny, a young woman looking to make a fresh start. She was Mary but after her boyfriend beat her, she knew she had to get away or she wouldn’t survive. With the help of a sincere customer at the coffee shop she worked at in St. Louis, she is able to escape to New Orleans. At the battered women’s shelter she is staying at, she meets Shelby, whom we met in Devastated Book 1. With Shelby’s help she is able to get a job where she meets a wonderful group of women as well as Jackson, the head of security at the club she now works at.

Jackson is former military battling his own demons. He isn’t looking for a relationship. He just wants to go into work every day and do his job, then escape to his home outside the city to relax whenever possible. That is until Sunny is standing frozen outside the club he is security for. There is just something about her that draws him in and won’t let go. He becomes very protective of her but knows she is hesitant on starting a relationship, so they become fast friends and just let their bond build naturally.

This book literally drew me in from the first page, just like Devastated did. The story is told mostly from Sunny’s POV but Jackson and Samantha (the club owner) have a few sections told from their POV to help give you a better understanding of the storyline. At first I will admit that I didn’t really understand why we were getting Samantha’s POV but it really tied the book together nicely.

The way Monica wrote this book, you just knew that Sunny’s ex was going to come out of the shadows at anytime. You just had no idea when that time would come. After the life that Sunny had lived before, you really wanted her to get her happily ever after. I enjoyed this book a little bit more than Devastated, mainly because of the suspense aspect involving Sunny’s ex-boyfriend. Can’t wait to see what Monica brings to us next.

I would definitely recommend this book and the series to everyone!

Monica May.. you had me at New Orleans! I FLOVED this book. This is my very first book by this author and I was far from disappointed. May has managed to pack in so many elements from multiple genres that I love into one concisely and action packed novel. She expertly incorporates New Orleans culture and history into her novel. As a fan and potential future inhabitant of NOLA, I appreciate her research into the city. So many people place their stories in NOLA and stick to the basics, but Monica May dives far deeper than the tourist stops in her book. Her strong female characters drive the story and keep you turning page after page late into the night. You feel everything that Sunny feels. I’ll admit there was more than one time I felt creeped out which honestly doesn’t happen to me every often while I am reading. Monica May, you have knocked this book out of the park! Can’t wait to read more!

I was given Hidden by the Author for an honest review and my gosh I have to say it's one of the easiest 5 starts I've given!
I was hooked in, captured by every character and truly captivated by the love and friendship throughout this book.

At the battered women’s shelter she is staying at, she meets Shelby, (whom we met in Devastated Book 1.) With Shelby’s help she is able to get a job where she meets a wonderful group of strong, sassy, caring women as well as Jackson, the head of security at the club she now works at.

Jackson is former military battling his own demons. He isn’t looking for a relationship. He just wants to go into work every day and do his job, then escape to his home outside the city to relax whenever possible. That is until Sunny is standing frozen outside the club. There is just something about her that draws him in and won’t let go. He becomes very protective of her but knows she is hesitant on starting a relationship, so they become fast friends and just let their bond build naturally.
I am definitely swooning over this man!! He is protective, demanding in all the right ways, so sweet, just "Awwwww, excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor"

Although the storyline meanly focuses on Sunny and Jackson, we most definitely cannot forget about Samantha and Parke! From the beginning you just know there is going to be fire, passion and humour between them.

Samantha is a strong, confident women opening this club not only for herself but she wants to make it all it can be in honour of her grandmother. She has recently lost her husband, so she doesn't want to let anyone in. Yes a quickly, a one night but when it comes to relationships that's a high No-No!

Parke is one of a few to turn down Samantha when they first meet, saying the work is more important that a rump on her desk. He seems to be just another employee but as truth would have it he is there for his own reasons.

The characters were so relatable, I felt like I was going on this journey with them, I cried, laughed and was just plain HOT! The humour was perfectly placed.

When Monica said about book two I was thrilled! I loved her first one. Was hooked from the very first page however this one just blow me away! Its beautifully written, it's different, it's classy and just amazing! Oh and the cover!! Absolutely beautiful! Old style, class just in love!!
I would most definitely recommend this one!!!

First off I have to say, I really enjoyed reading this book. It is the second in the series but, I liked that it can be read as a standalone. But, I highly encourage you to read book 1 first, because you would be missing out on a great read. Now, for this one, I really liked not only getting a bit of Samantha’s POV, but we get a new character, Sunny’s. At first I wasn’t expecting that, but I’m glad Monica wrote it that way. We get to see into the mind of several different character’s and get a different take on each of their stories. Samantha is driven to be the best there is. She wants what’s best for her girls, and I loved that she was firm with what she wanted. She didn’t question every single choice she had to make and I really loved that. But she does have one rule, and I thought it was hilarious Parke pushed her buttons and made her wish she didn’t follow those rules. I couldn’t wait to see more of them, and I hope we get to see these two in a next book? I wanted to dig deeper into their story, but at the same time, I wanted to know more about Sunny.
My heart broke for Sunny. She has been through so much and I want to high five her for making it and overcoming the things that happened to her. At first she’s super shy and doesn’t want to step up and take charge. I totally understood that. How her past was, it makes sense. When she meets Jackson, well let’s say all bets are off. I absolutely loved these too. Jackson is just what Sunny needs and wow, can I say hot and steamy scenes? Just get ready for a wild ride for sure. There was so many times I thought, what in the world just happened? I was blown away at some of the answers that I had questioned, and some things hit me out of nowhere. I didn’t see any of it coming! But that’s what I love. Being surprised and being left in book hangover is great! I can’t wait to see what Monica comes up with next and I know I will be one-clicking!

Given to me for an honest review
So this the second book in the New Orleans series and to be honest I was not sure if I would love it as much as the first one.......but I did and it was fantastic.

So this story is a follow on and I would read the first one before this one just so you get the idea of characters and other things that is told in the first novel.

This novel start with a flashback to 1949 and the age of sex club it sets the scene for the novel which is great.
Then we jump back to present day where we find Samantha who is trying to open a very respected and exclusive sex club she is doing interviews for employees when one guy really rattles her " no sex with staff" rule.
Then we have Sunny(who has changed her name from Mary) running from a motorcycle club and an abusive partner who she know will track her down at some stage and her knight in shining armour Jackson.
In this novel there is 2 stories on finding each other again and what love means and how it can open up your eyes again.

I found this book moved well it was easy to read and the chapters were not long which means I could pick it up and put it down without losing my place in the story. I am hope there is another book coming soon...would love to read that one as well

I’ll give you a warning on this book. You are thrown into the plot immediately. Straight to the point and no fluff. It captures your attention right from page one. Which is refreshing because I do not need over explaining about each character and why they are what they are.

Personally I like books that have several points of views. I feel that it helps you understand each one and how they feel about what is going on around them.

Samantha, I like from the beginning. Sunny, you feel bad about what happens to her and wanted to know how her life progresses. Jackson and Parke, amazing in different ways. Relationships grow and that is when you know if you will like a person or not.

I don’t like to spoil a book. However I was disappointed in Rex. I thought he would be a bit smarter and had a better plot at the end. Doesn’t he watch CSI? Be original, think outside the box.

Other than the douchebag Rex, I enjoyed all the people in the story. You grow to like each one of them and makes a book much more enjoyable.

My rating is a 4.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

This book was sent to me the other day, and I read it in one sitting. This is the first book that I have read by Monica May, and I can guarantee that it isn't going to be the last. This book has everything rolled into one: MC hot cops, military, sex clubs and Mardi Gras.

The book starts off by looking at the past, it grabs your attention. Fast-forward to the present-ish and meeting the characters of the book. One in particular is Sunny. She is the main focus of this book. When you are reading this book, you will cry in spots that just sneak up on you. You will fall in love with Sunny. You want to wrap her up in a blanket and tell her that everything is going to be OK. There is a feeling of being watched while you are reading the book. But, that just adds to the mystery of the book. If you haven't read any of Monica's books, the you are missing out! I know that I will be reading more of her!

I really love the guys in this book. You have Parke who is just straight up honest with Samantha, well kind of. Then you have Jackson who is basically a Knight in Shining Armor. He was protective of Sunny from day 1. I liked the girls too. Samantha is unapologetic about her life and does what she wants. I love it and I wish I was a little bit more like that.

At first reading the synopsis I was mad that one of the characters was named Sunny. I have yet to figure out why my name is associated with strippers or hookers in most books. So I was not planning on liking Sunny. Now, after reading it, I liked Sunny. I like the reason for her name.

This book has a pretty good storyline and again I liked the characters. I would recommend this book. You have romance with a little bit of drama.

I am giving this book 4 stars! Go get it!

I'm amazed from this author's writing,I've found this second installment of The New Orleans Temptation Series so different from the first one but equally good.
The well described characters and the multiple POVs help the readers to get every detail of the story.
I love New Orleans and I love reading about it especially from an author that lives the city.

I absolutely loved this story! After having read Devastated, I did not doubt that I would enjoy Hidden. Monica May has so much depth to her stories that they are so much more than just steam, although there is enough of it to fog up your brain and the windows for hours. Her characters are flawed, real, and are troubled whether it is a marriage as in Devastated or a history of violence and abuse in Hidden. She keeps you thinking and gives you such amazing characters that you cannot help but bond with them and feel their joy, pain, and sorrow. Monica takes you on an emotional, sultry, ride through New Orleans filled with deception, abuse, unwavering loyalty, undeniable passion and an indestructible love. Samantha, Parke, Sunny and Jackson tugged on my heart strings and kept me engrossed and anticipating what was in store for all of them in and out of the bedroom.

When the story begins Samantha is in the process of opening a burlesque club with other more sensual activities on the top floor. She recently lost her husband and has been throwing herself into her project. Along comes Parke who has brought to surface feelings that she has buried, which leaves her confused and in need. Parke was only looking for a job but once he meets the saucy, seductive Samantha, he finds something that he never expected. As much as they both try to repress their feelings, their simmering desires run away from them. I absolutely loved both Parke and Samantha and they left me waiting with baited breath to see what their next moves were going to be. Their sexual tension is hot enough to light a match and cause an inferno.

Sunny has come to New Orleans to escape from an abusive boyfriend and plans on laying low and preserving her freedom. When she stumbles into Jackson, she falls for his charm and good looks even though she is wary of men. Sunny’s fears and past gutted me on more than one occasion and kept me rooting for her and Jackson to be together. . . Jackson and Sunny are sexy, sweet, and at times, heartbreaking.

Monica has a way of stimulating your mind, heart, and body and leaving you with a warm and fuzzy feeling. I highly recommend for a sincere, juicy read that gives you the feels. I cannot wait to see what Monica May has in store for her readers with her future books.

I received a copy of HIDDEN (New Orleans Temptation #2)in exchange for a blog tour and an honest review.

Mary was stuck. What started out as a wonderful relationship turned scary and sadistic when Rex became the leader of the Flaming Dragons MC. All it took was for Mary to be herself and question what was going on, unfortunately she did it in front of some of the members and Rex didn't want to lose face, so she got smacked around. After taking it for just so long, she runs...and she's found...and she's beat even worse. A customer at work finally takes pitty on her and steals her away knowing what happens next since he lost his sister to domestic violence. He gives her a new life...moves her from St. Louis to New Orleans...and Sunny emerges.

Jackson, head of security for an exotic club falls head over heals for Sunny and wants to do nothing more than make her happy. I loved Jackson!

Samantha, club owner, likes the men. She's lost her love and just looking for a good time since she doesn't want to hurt anymore...
Parke applies for a security job, and Samantha does a good job of trying to scare him away. But what man would be worth it if he was just gonna walk away.

This was a quick read that had 2 love stories kinda going at once. I really would have liked to see more depth into Samantha and Parke's story, as from the first couple of chapters I thought that was where it was going..but it ended up feeling like that one was just a side piece of Sunny and Jacksons story.
Hidden was entertaining with a nice story line, likable characters and flowed really well. An overall enjoyable read.

Hidden by Monica May is a fantastic read about second chances and starting over. There's two stories in Hidden, the first being Samantha, who after losing her husband, decides to focus all her energy on recreating the erotic club her great aunt had. As she is getting the location and employees in order, Shelby, Samantha's friend tells her about a woman she wants her to hire that she met at the battered women's shelter. It is at this point in the story that we meet Sunny. Sunny never imagined that her life would end up the way it it. When an opportunity to make a fresh break comes, Sunny takes it and tries to not looks back. As this story unfolds Samantha and Sunny, both meet two men, Parke and Jackson, who are not initially part of the plan for Samantha and Sunny, but they may be just what they are looking for.

Monica May delivers a story that is worth reading. I loved seeing how the story unfolded for Samantha and Sunny. There's suspense, sex, some comedy, twists, and romance set against the back drop of New Orleans and a sex club that perfectly sets up this book. Monica May grabs your attention from the first page and keeps you invested in the story. She has written characters that are complex and fun, making you want to know as much about them as possible. Even though this is the second book in The New Orleans Temptation Series, you don't necessarily have to read the first book in order to enjoy Hidden. In fact, it just wants to make you read the first book even more and eager to see what comes next in this series.

I really enjoyed reading this book, just like Devastated! I really enjoy this authors work and I hope there is more to come! I have been done with this book for some time now, but forgot to post my review! I love the Louisiana feel to these books! I am from Tennessee, so I can appreciate the Southern roots that come into play a few times in the book. I love the club that she designed based on her passed family members experiences. I could imagine every single step of this book. The scenery was described perfectly. There were times when I was angry at some of the characters, but this was one of those books that I couldn't put down. I read it in two days. I loved the mixture of sex, danger, and lust/longing that this book had mixed up in it. It also had a serious side (and I can definitely appreciate the business aspect of the book, business is my life!). Very few typo's if any. I was never confused on which character was who and how they related to the story. I would have to say that I hated Rex though. I am very satisfied with his ending. Very satisfied in deed! I have to say, I never expected the book to take the turn it did. Most of the book was about Sunny, I expected it to be about the character from the first book (I can't remember her name for the life of me!). I really enjoyed the mixture of the two story line's though! Great read. I couldn't put it down!

AHHHHH MAZING!

There was major anticipation to read Samantha's story after the bits and pieces shared about her personality in book one, so I was so happy I had the opportunity to dive right into "Hidden", the moment I finished "Devasted".
She was introduced as such a sexy, uninhibited free spirit. And the story of her great aunt set the scene for awesome sequel. Needless to say, book two does not disappoint. Not only do we get to see Samantha's dream come into fruition and the spirit of her great aunt flow freely thro out the club, we got meet a plethora of amazing characters. We are introduced to Parke, who has amazing chemistry with Samantha, and makes her second guess all of her ruled and boundaries. Then there's Sunny and Jackson, which most of "Hidden" is about their story and struggle.
I absolutely loved their relationship. Jackson was the epitome of an alpha male; protective and how he desired Sunny from the moment he first laid eyes on her.
I enjoyed book one, "Devastated", but "Hidden" is by far my favorite of the two. The writing was a little better, the story more polished, and of course, the intimate scenes were
HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!!!!!
All in all, this is an amazing !!!!!!!

Hidden is book 2 in the New Orleans Temptation series but can be read as a standalone. But having read Devastated prior to Hidden, I strongly suggest reading both just because their so damn good.

Hidden is Sunny and Jackson's story but has a good bit going on for Samantha as well!

Sunny is trying to start her life over while still looking over her shoulder. She's a bit broken and while she could use a white knight she's still a strong heroine.

Jackson. Lord have mercy I want to clone him and keep him tied to my bed. This man is everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING you could want in a man all wrapped up in a sexy package.
He's dominant when need be, quiet and reserved at times, strong, sexy, a gentleman, a protector and has some skills in the bedroom. And best of all, he's just what Sunny needs on every level.

Book one in the series got my attention, I found a new author to love and a series I hoped would be great, Hidden surpassed Devastated in my opinion on every level. Jackson and Sunny's story will be hard to top and I don't think any man can compete with Jackson but I look forward to more in the series to see what comes next!

Hidden was definitely a gem of a book. I was hooked from the very first page and couldn’t read it fast enough. Although it’s the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

What I loved most about Hidden was the two storylines. I thought it was brilliant and a fabulous way to keep the reader on their toes.

The main storyline focuses on Sunny and Jackson. I loved watching Sunny grow confidence in herself and really come into her own as a young woman as she tries to escape her violent past. And Jackson, he is my favorite kind of alpha - fiercely protective, but he had a gentle loving side too. And the sex - HOT!!!

As for the secondary storyline between Samantha and Parke, hot damn, you could feel the sparks those two were throwing off every time they were around each other.

If you love suspense mixed with erotica set in an upscale sex club in New Orleans, this is the book for you!!! I know that I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.

Review courtesy of Back Off My Book Boyfriend

Let me preface my saying… Wow! This is not at all what I expected to read but thank god I read it!

From the very start, I found myself intrigued with the little bit of prefaced history. It really lent well into the whole story. While it was definitely Sunny and Jacksons story, I’m glad that the author kept Samantha in it because as a first time reader of this author, it gave insight into the series. Plus I don’t feel like I’d have to read the first book just to get caught up. But, of course I’ll be easing the first book because… This is an absolutely fabulous story! The drama is well written and no over the top unbelievable. The sex is scorching and had me at the edge of my… Well… But the overall book is greatly written. And I’m surprised but in a good way that the brought in some MC, kink and fetish, drama, and wrapped it up nicely with the bow! I personally can’t wait to read more and this book gets 5 Quacks and will go on our MUST BE READ LIST!

First he drugs her and has one of his friends put a tattoo on her back branding her property of the club. Then when she tries to run, he tracks her down and beats her. After hearing her story Shelby wants to help, so she sets a interview for her at Samantha's club. Things are going so good, shes making friends and has a job, but on her first girls night out, a voodoo priestess warns her, shes still in danger, and that the tiger will protect her from the dragon. I absolutely loved this book, it really grabs you and draws you into the story, it's totally gripping and packed with suspense, at times I really had to look around because I had this ominous looming feeling, it's just that realistic. I just had to keep turning pages until the very end. I really came to love and feel for Sunny and felt myself really becoming invested in her. I also loved Jackson he is really a very sweet guy and is seriously swoon-worthy! I also loved all of the information about New Orleans that the author relays throughout the story, that just made it all the more interesting and realistic. I almost forgot to mention that you also have some seriously hot scenes to look forward to! ;) I can't wait for more from this author and definitely recommend this book and the previous one Devastated! Grab the book and sit down for a read. I was gifted a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

I liked this one more than the first one which was a bonus for me because I wasn't sure I was going to read it at all. Based on the description, you think this is Samantha's story and it's not at all. She's a minor character who has a few chapters throughout the book. This is Sunny's story. Sunny is a woman on the run from an abusive ex boyfriend that she ran from. She knows he won't stop looking and should keep her guard up but has trouble doing that whenever Jackson is around. They both battle demons and a past that makes them not want to act on their attraction. But one night they do and they become inseparable. Jackson's past is one that could cause Sunny to run and when it comes back with a vengeance, can Sunny see the truth? When Jackson finally thinks he has Sunny forever, who past comes back in the worst way. Will Sunny and Jackson make it? 1-click today to find out!

Beaten and on the run from the MC... Mary, a.k.a. Sunny, is looking for a place to hide.

Well, this was a turn from the last book in the series. This story dealt with the horrible aspects of relationship abuse, but don't worry, we get our HEA.

I loved how sweet Sunny was... she suffered a lot of abuse at the hands of her ex... who also happens to be the President of The Dragons MC.

Jackson... former army ranger and walking, brooding sex. When he was looking for a change in his life he never expected Sunny. But I love that they helped each other to heal and trust again.

This story was in multiple povs so you really had to keep up. Sunny and Jackson got a wonderful HEA, though, which always makes this reviewer happy!

This book has it all MC, hot cops, sex clubs, military men as well as Mardi Gras what more could be asked for? I fell in love with sunny. I was kind of iffy at the beginning when it went way back to the past but after a few pages I was hooked. I couldnt get enough of this book. This being my first book read by Monica i can now say that I will be reading more of them. I was on the verge of tears in parts as well as literally looking over my own shoulder while reading. You get sucked in and you will not get spit back out until the end of this book. Absolutely amazing!!

Just like the 1st in the series, I loved this book! The story was on point. Samantha is as hilarious as she was in the first book and this woman's mind...is it hot in here? ;) Mary/Sunny is such a kind soul. Ugh why does all the shit happen to the sweet ones? Parke and Jackson..where are these men at in real life? Like seriously...
But these woman deserve them and I just can't wait for more. I hope Carmella's book is next! There's more right?

Sorry for the vague review but this book is easy to spoil..well for someone who loved it as much as me and would retell it lol

New Orleans, LA, A high class burlesque/sex club is the setting for hot sex & second chances at love. The story is told through the main 2 couple's POV. Samantha & Parke, and Jackson & Sunny. This is a highly enjoyable book! I love books that take place in my hometown Louisiana, especially Erotic Romances! Fantastic storyline, strong characters, steamy sex scenes, and beautiful a HEA for these lovers! Monica May is definitely on my new favorite author's list!

Happy Reading! ;-) ❤Tiffany Leger, Administrator, Red Shoes Erotic Book Reviews

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was really well written. While I didn't fall in love with the characters I also enjoyed them. It was interesting to see the two stories going on side by side. Not to mention to hear more about Samantha.

The plot was well worked and there wasn't really a dull moment. I enjoyed the building relationships and watching them grow.

Overall this was a good book and very hot.
