In the fourth installment of Full Hearts we get to find out where Trey has been and what's new with his life. We haven't seen much from him since book one, where he was found to be the father of Gabriela's baby, his cousins then girlfriend. Gabriela has kept Tomas in Brazil the last three years, Trey's left his family behind after his betrayal, and he's finished up college after just three years. Tragic events lead Trey to become a full time father to Tomas, even though he hasn't seen him in the three years since Gabriela went back to Brazil. Leaving behind his college commencement ceremony, Trey travels to Brazil to embark on the long journey of getting full custody of Tomas. Lucky for him, Tomas' nanny, Alessandra, is there to help and taunt him. Trey tries to avoid his feelings for her, but when they give in to their lust their relationship just blossoms. Now Trey's trying to find a way to support this new life he wants, one with Alessandra and Tomas.

I wanted to like this book, I enjoyed the other three books prior to this one and I wanted to know what Trey was up to after that first glimpse we were given. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me and I am probably in the minority in that feeling. I just couldn't get behind the relationship, it all moved too fast. I loved Trey at first, he seemed to have grown so much, the ideal kind of guy. He was mature even when faced with such a difficult situation. Tomas was so adorable and I just ate up the scenes with him in it. Then it just went downhill. Not only did the book drag through the first half, because it was so formal for two young people, but when Alessandra and Trey's relationship heated up it turned into immaturity and jumping scenes. I'm not sure how much time this book covered, but I felt like I was missing something. Additionally, some of the trials they faced were so unbelievable. I wanted to get behind the Brazil story, some of it made complete sense, but some of it felt like no research was done at all. M.J. Summers is a great writer, but this one just didn't meet the mark for me.

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher Book Enthusiast Promotions, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

When I read the blurb I was intrigued and really looking forward to the book but I’m a little bit disappointed. I did enjoy it but I didn’t love it.

The first part seemed to drag on. Also both characters, in their early 20’s acted so mature which just felt odd. After they finally give into their feelings and commit they start to act immature?? I did like Alessa. She’s a strong, kind, intelligent young woman who has been raising little Tomas for the last two years and you really feel how much she cares about the little boy. I didn’t really like Trey… well in the beginning I did. In the beginning he was kind and thoughtful but in the second part even though the purpose for his actions might have been good I found him rather selfish, demanding, thoughtless, … and Alessa’s reactions in return are rather immature. I also find that their relationship escalated too quickly…

I think there was a lot of potential and the writing was good without any errors for as far as I could tell (non-English reader). This was a sweet, romance with a little drama but the characters ruined it for me, which I think is personal!! I guess not the right book at the right moment… I want to add that at the end they get their HEA but I would have preferred if Trey had to grovel, a lot, to win Alessa back!

Favorite Quotes:

“I’m a guy, we’re much better at assessing women’s bodies than women are.”

“You’ll have to turn away now while I inhale the rest in a most unladylike way.”

“She didn’t want to fall asleep in front of Trey, only to end up with her mouth hanging open and snoring sounds coming out. Or worse, drool. That would be horrifying.”

“Sometimes I wish I could freeze time in a perfect moment and stay there.”

“So, I’ll know to wait until right after sex to ask you for anything I really want.”

“Pulling the covers over her head, she lay very still, wishing for death. Or a time machine. Or death. That would be god right now.”

My Review:

I adored this sweet and tender love story until they became stubborn, tragic, and angsty and just broke my heart… but then I adored it again and all was right with the world. I enjoyed this couple as until they got all dug in with their opposing positions - they were fun, smart, clever, and open with each other, but then they lost sight of themselves. I was engaged by their sweet and steamy relationship and humorous banter. I delighted in most of their story, but with him being a bit of an adrenalin junkie that gets caught up in the thrill of the moment, and her being distrustful and resistant to change, I wasn’t sure they were going to have a HEA. My heart was wrenched! Ms. Summer’s tortured them considerably before a bull horned in and made things clear. But I have truly relished this entire series, Ms. Summers has skills.

Copy received from netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
This review of ‘Breaking hearts’ would short and sweet like the story itself.
Before the actual review, I’d like to express my disappointment in cover. I was expecting this -

but I got this –

I was disappointed because first cover is lot cooler and I wanted to match it with complete series. Oh well…

The story moved very predicatively for almost 60% but then struggle began and so my interest picked as well. It was hard to put down from onwards. Of course it was predicable to have Trey and Alessa to have their HEA but it was achieve nice drama.

Overall rating 3.5/5

MJ mentioned that this would be last in Full Hearts Series but I still ended up wishing for more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Indigo Group for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It’s appreciated, as always!

This is quite a lovely book, but I’m not sure I read it at the right time. I just finished with The Widow by Fiona Barton, which may end up being one of my favourite books of the year. After that kind of high, Breaking Hearts just didn’t… click for me. But, like I said, it is a lovely story, without the typical “Billionaire meets Bella Swan girl” trope that has taken over the New Adult genre.

The tale is told from two perspectives – on one hand, there’s Trey, a hardworking young man, just finishing up his degree and hoping to begin to supporting his son Tomas, who lives in far away Brazil with his mother. On the other hand, there’s Alessandra, Trey’s son’s nanny, a law student, intelligent and warm-hearted. When Tomas’ mother dies, Trey has to step up to the plate and take responsibility. While doing so, he can’t help but notice that Alessandra is one hot little number, and as they play happy families, he begins to fall for her.

The language in this book is oddly… formal. Trey, especially, is unlike any other guy I’ve ever known. He speaks only in complete sentences, and says things like “tomcatting around” and “pretty as a peach”. It’s a tad disarming, and not really in a good way. I think it’s vital for authors to forget how they might speak, and get into the skin of their characters. Maybe this is common slang for young men from Colorado? It sounds more like something a grandmother might say, if I’m being honest. I have zero against people who speak well. But I DO have an issue with characters who sound like robots.

Alessandra is also very formal. In the beginning, that is. Once she and Trey get together, she starts acting like a bratty teenager with a chip on her shoulder the size of the Grand Canyon. It gets worse before it gets better. The conflict between them made me roll my eyes. What did you expect would happen, given how you rushed into a relationship after approximately five seconds of knowing each other? Especially in such a volatile and emotional situation? Argh, I could have told you two what would happen. Disaster.

The sex scenes also left a lot to be desired. Why is that male parts get explicitly labeled, but New Adult authors seem to prance around euphemisms for female genitalia? It’s maddening. Just say 'pussy', authors. You'll feel better.

Regardless, the last part of the book is quite satisfying, even if the melodrama gets wrapped up too neatly for my liking. It’s a lovely romance, but could I believe it? Not as much as I would have liked. But what do I know? This book has a 4.67 rating on GoodReads.com…. apparently I’m the only one who didn’t quite ‘get’ it. Maybe I’m too cynical.

(Note: I am definitely too cynical).

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for an honest review. My honest opinion is that I loved this book. I couldn't put it down until I was done reading it at 3:30 A.M., it kept me wanting to keep going to see what happened between Trey & Alessa. In a drunken night his life changed because of the roaming eye of his cousin Cole's lonely Brazilian girlfriend. Trey has separated himself from his family for the last 3 yrs, because of the guilt he carries for wrecking his family & has been working his but off to graduate from College & start making some money to send to his son in Brazil that he's only met once. Now upon graduating he finds out that the mother of his child has died & he has to go to Brazil to bring his son Tomas home. When he gets there he finds out it's not going to be an easy task to bring his son home but with the help of his son's nanny & law student Alessandra he starts the ball rolling. It looks good until his son's maternal grandparents who are rich but want nothing to do with their grandson put up roadblocks for a quick ending. Trey is forced to stay longer than planned but during that time he gets to know Alessa & Tomas better. They become a family & their feelings for each other develop into something that neither of them expected. They move out to Alessa's family farm to wait out the process with the courts & both realize that love is what they feel & in a surprise move they marry. Trey becomes involved in bull riding while Alessa gets a job with the local court judge but all is not happy for them. Trey turns out to be good at riding & is offered a contract with a professional bull riding team in the U.S. When his application to take Tomas home to the U.S. is approved Alessa must stay behind to look after her grandfather & the farm as well as for her new job. Riding is Trey's way to support his new family but it also puts a strain on it, as well as his new mother-in-laws anger about how Trey has done the same thing to Alessa as her husband did to her. Will injury, death & the distance between Trey & Alessa be enough for their marriage to crumble? Can Trey make his way back to Alessa before it's too late? I hope that there will be another book in this series. I definitely recommend this to read.

Never read this author before and Trey is a character from a previous novel. From what I can understand, he wasn’t a very nice guy in that novel but, in this new one, it’s about three years later and he’s changed – become more serious and more focused.

We find Trey on the verge of his final exams at university in San Diego. He’s been working in a bar to support himself. His goal is to get a degree, earn a good living and be a good father to his son, Tomas, who he hasn’t seen in person since he was a baby, as he now lives in Brazil with his mother. However, a tragedy suddenly derails Trey’s plans and he finds himself stepping up. He journeys to Brazil with little money and completely unprepared to become a full-time father.

Alessandra has been Tomas’ nanny since he was one. She’s a hardworking law student, about to graduate, and then plans to move back to her home town, get a job, and help look after her grandfather, who runs an orange farm. She is determined to suss out Trey and make sure that he will be a good father to Tomas.

It’s attraction at first sight. In the face of her mother’s bitter disapproval and the knowledge that their paths are not the same, Alessa and Trey’s relationship becomes more intimate, following weeks of mutual attraction and high sexual tension. They believe that they can overcome anything and their relationship is tested to the absolute limit by distance, circumstances, doubt, insecurity, and misunderstanding.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It was well-written and, seriously, Trey was pretty swoony. He is devoted to Alessa and Tomas but is driven to a course of action where he can provide for his family. He also feels that his pride is at stake, and is determined to cast off his flaky reputation with his family and become someone they can be proud of. However, in doing so, he knows that he’s hurting the people he loves most in the world, and he has to make amends before he loses Alessa forever.

Having ploughed through the previous books in the series after being gifted it by the author in return for an honest review, I was looking forward to reading Trey's story.
So, many thanks MJ and here, as promised is my opinion.
As a middle aged woman I have tended to stick to books with slightly older, world wise characters, Trey and Alesse would not have been my first choice in a synopsis when picking a book, however, I really enjoyed this story.
I felt it was written completely differently to most "boy meets girl" books. It wasn't your average, boy meets girl, woes girls, seduces girl, hurts girl, redeems himself and ride off into the sunset!!!
This was refreshing because, it showed how young love can be all consuming, with no time constraints or barriers barring the way (which of course as an old gal spelt trouble to me)!!!
Trey and Alesse are brought together by his child, whom he doesn't really know, and the tragedy surrounding it, they move their relationship forward at lightning pace and all the while I was thinking, this is gonna go pear shaped!!
Their innocent and slightly selfish views proved me right and things start to go drastically wrong for the young lovers, but, as in all fabulous love stories, strength, honour, love and a disaster will always bring our characters back together.
I enjoyed this book very much because it was slightly different, because they were naive in their relationship, because they were spoilt and selfish at times, because that's how some youngsters can be (speaking from experience at having been one once)!!!!
I urge you to read The Full Hearts series and keep in the back of your minds when you get to Breaking Hearts that we were all young, impetuous at one time, so don't be too quick to dismiss the learning process these two young characters go through.

I was given this book for my honest review

Remember growing up and going to the infamous Amusement Parks where one could test their luck on the just about anything but the one thing that always was at our forefront once we stepped into the midst was a spinning wheel..Pick a number and test your luck on the spinning wheel. As we lay down our quarter and watch the wheel spin we keep praying that it will land on our number just so we could win the biggest prize of them all. The prize is not always as it seems though. It may be a stuffed animal of any kind but that is not the win that we celebrate. The win is our bragging rights that we can yell to the world that we won on the infamous spinning wheel. Taking that into Alessandra and Trey’s wobbly journey we can feel from page 1 an exhilaration like no other.

Author M. J. Summers not only brings heartache, spontaneity, tears, joy, laughter and a bunch of hot sex to this couple but she brings a mystery and a new identity to her characters. This book will stand out not like the others in this series but on its own for the individuality of each character will draw you into their own circle separately and leave you with a sense of awe when you combine both circles together.

Will Trey and Alessandra find their truest of hearts together along with the cutie pie Tomas or will the wheel come short in the win of their lives?

Happy Reading

I received an ARC copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked this book in the beginning. It was quite addicting, but somewhere in the middle it felt kind of rushed. I wanted more interaction between the main characters before they made such an important decision. They made a great couple together, but at the end I expected more of them, especially for the way they acted. But overall it was an emotional, interesting story to spend the day in bed reading.
I haven’t read the previous books in the series, but this synopsis right away caught my attention.

5 Pistachio Ice Cream Loving Stars

I absolutely loved this book from the first page to the very last page!!! I’m not going to lie to y’all, after reading Break in Two I really had little to no love left for Trey. I was more than a little disappointed in him for what he had done to Cole, but at the same time, I just had to know how his story played out. He totally and completely redeems himself and I fell head over heals in love with him!

After leaving the ranch, Trey has a plan --- he is going to get through college, get a great job and make a name for himself so he can support his son. He desperately wants to give his little boy the life he deserves. Turns out life had another plan for him and decides to reunite Trey with his little boy, Tomas, a lot sooner than he planned. In the blink of an eye Trey finds himself in a foreign country having to take care of a little boy he knows pretty much nothing about without a penny to his name. There is however, a bright spot in all of this aside from Tomas, of course, and that would be Alessandra Santos, Tomas’ Nanny.

I loved Alessandra from the minute we meet her. She is a smart and beautiful girl and she loves and protects Tomas as if he was her own. Her main goal is to figure out if Trey is stable enough to take care of Tomas. If he is she fully intends to hand Tomas over, graduate law school, find a job and help her mother and grandfather manage the family farm. Let’s just say her dreams might change just a little when she meets Trey ☺.

Alessa and Trey try to deny their attraction to each other and kinda play the little cat and mouse game for a couple of months before they finally give in to it. But when they do -- holy hell! -- be careful you might get your fingers burned from your reading device! The hotness just leaps off the pages!

“A growl erupted from his throat as he covered the fabric of her panties with his palm. She knew from the sound that she had nothing to feel shy about. He rubbed his hand over her, pushing his fingers, along with her panties, in just a tiny bit. He pulled back and looked her up and down for a second, his expression full of lust. …. God you’re just so completely beautiful”

This was a story of second chances, believing in your dreams and finding true love!! You really must experience it yourself to understand my feelings towards it. It was fanfreakingtastic!!!! Thank you Ms. Summers for redeeming Trey and bringing us this fabulous story.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review

To read a MJ Summers' book, for me, is like to buy a ticket for a journey on a rollercoaster. I stay in line, waiting, the anticipation building, and when I'm up is exciting. Reaching the top I can see the beautiful landscape, I feel good and happy. Then I look forward and I see the void, and the descent is frightful, makes me scream, I don't want to go down and feel the stomach in my throat! But when the journey ends all the scary moments are already forgotten and I feel happy.

In this book we meet Trey again. He'd betrayed his cousin Cole and his family. Now, after some years, he's a changed man: he has a degree and wants to find a good job to support his son, Tomas. But an unexpected news changes everything. Gabriela, Tomas' mom has died, and Trey goes to Brazil to take care of his son. He's scared, but he wants to take his responsabilities and be a good father and a better man for Tomas.

At age twenty-four, he was preparing to start a new chapter in his life, one that was going to test his limits in every way.

When he arrives in Brazil, he finds out that Tomas' nanny, Alessandra, is not only an angel sent from heaven to look after his son, but she's also a lawyer. Alessandra's sweet, beautiful and smart, and she's willing to help Trey to get Tomas' custody.

The attraction between Trey and Alessandra is undeniable and more time they spend together, more their feelings become deeper. Alessandra is scared to confuse her love for Trey for the fear to lose Tomas. Trey is scared to mix up his love for Alessa with gratitude. They will have to make painful decisions and go through hell before finding heaven and be together as an happy family.

"It's going to be hard, I know that. But nothing in life woth having comes for free, does it?" - Trey

"No, your're right. Nothing comes for free. Everything has its price." - Alessandra

Trey and Alessandra are great characters, strong and smart, and I loved how they deal with their feelings and conflicts, making the story real. As in perfect MJ's style the sex scenes are steamy. The storyline is very well written and developped and unfolds smoothly. It's a book about take and give second chances, about family love and never give up on dreams. It's heartwarming, emotional, a MUST READ!

description

This is a great book from part of a series, but you can read this as a stand alone if you haven't read the others yet. Tray made a poor choice 3 years ago which resulted in a son, who lives in Brazil with his mom. Tray is just graduating from college when he gets a phone call that changes everything. Alessandra is in Brazil as Tomas's nanny, taking care of him for the past 2 years, but the past year she was his main caregiver, and was a law student in Brazil. When she hears Tomas's father will be coming to Brazil after a tragedy she is concerned for Tomas's well being, and worried that his father will not be able to take care of him. That quickly changes when Alessandra realizes Tray is not the guy she was expecting. Tray finds out he will not be able to take Tomas back to the states as quick as he originally thought, and uses this time to gain knowledge from Alessandra on how to care for Tomas. The bond between all three begins to strengthen throughout Trays time in Brazil, as Alessandra helps Tray with his legal battle to get the permission to leave Brazil with his son. Alessandra can't imagine Tomas leaving Brazil, but it doesn't take long before she can't imagine Tray leaving Brazil either. Tray can't wait to get home to his family and find a way to give his son everything he deserves. But things get complicated, he wants to provide for himself and his son while in Brazil but can't do any work. He learns how to ride bulls and thinks this is his way to start a life with some financial stability for him and his son. Tray has to decide does he leave Brazil with his son, or does he stay? Does Alessandra step forward and go with him, or does she stay true to her family and keep fighting to save the farm she's always loved and lived on? What happens between these two people will forever impact Tomas' life after the tragedy with his mother, they only want what is best for him, but what is the best? Who will choose love or who will choose family? You dont want to miss this read to get some questions answered from the previous books.

Those of you who read Break In Two could probably relate with what I'm about to say:
I was waiting for Trey's story wayyyyy too long!
I'm was so happy when MJ told me she was going to write Trey's story and it was definitely worth the wait. I just loved everything about it! Even the parts when I wanted to kill Trey!
After hurting all his family, Trey had one thing on his mind – to be a better man for his little boy. He's graduating college and determine to reunite with his son as soon as possible.
Well, one horrible phone call makes him do that sooner than he expected.
Everything in his life is about to change when he needs to leave everything behind and go to Brazil. Suddenly he needs to fight for his right to be a father for his son when custody issues are on the line.
But, he is not alone. He's got Tomas's nanny and lawyer, Alessandra, by his side who's teaching him how to be a father and fights with him for his right to take Tomas back the US.
They're getting closer and closer and the attraction between them is too strong to ignore.
When they finally decide to act on their feelings, Trey discover a new goal he wants to achieve and what he doesn’t consider is the cost of this goal…
Without revealing any spoilers, you're going to fall in love and fall out of love with Trey through all of it! The end of this book is something that I still need to discuss about with MJ because I'm not quite sure what I feel about Trey right now.
Having said that, I think this book is amazing and deals with real feelings and real conflicts that could happen to every one of us, and this is what I love the most about MJ's books – reality and a steamy one! ;-)
I don't know a lot of authors that can get into your heart with third person writing, I know only two who does it amazingly and MJ is one of them!
Great job! Great story! Highly recommended!

Breaking Hearts, Full Hearts book 4,   by M.J.Summers

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance,

I liked the little we saw of Trey in an earlier book, and of course that bombshell, that he was the father of Gabriella’s baby! Now circumstances have changed, and he needs to bring his son home. Out in Brazil he finds its not so easy, he’s no money, no job and the Brazilians want to see proof he can support toddler Tomas before they’ll give permission for him to leave.
Alessandra has been looking after Tomas while completing her Law studies, and agrees to continue to help Trey with him. She knows Tomas will leave soon and wants to spend as much time as she can with him, she’s been his main caregiver and loves the little boy.
Its a great story potentially but somehow it didn’t live up to the promise for me. Its well written, had good plots that expand the main story and yet ...I just felt kind of underwhelmed, a bit bored at times, wanting to get to the end and find out what happens rather than enjoying the journey there :-( Trey and Alessandra were a great couple, but at times both seemed so juvenile, so young and stubborn. It wasn’t hard to see what was going to happen and I need to be taken by surprise, not see what’s coming a mile off. Its a good read, just for me not a great one.

Stars: Three, a good read but nothing to get excited about for me.

I was so excited to read Trey's story. I was so ready to read his transformation to making up for all the bad he did in the first book of the series. But....that excitement never came. This book had nothing to do with him making up for his misgivings...the only time that was addressed was when he mother forced him to go over to the farm because everyone already forgave him, without him even asking for it. I felt Trey and even the Heroine Alessa were so immature, naïve and childish that it just ruined the book for me. Their characters never grew and even though Trey realized the errors he made with Alessa, I really felt he never learned his lessons anyway. He didn't choose to give up what he left her for, he got hurt and was kind of forced out. I was just so disappointed. The Hero and Heroine would have gained more respect in my eyes if they would have confronted Alessa's mother and her rudeness, deceit and bullying but they never did. The author did not even touch on that. I mean, the mother was made aware of Trey's predicament and he kept hanging up on the nurse. Trey repeatedly called and he got lied to and hung up on. And they all that was said about it was...oh I understand why she did that. That's it???....THATS IT!?!?!?!?!?! This mother was bullying Alessa, making fun of her repeatedly, calling her stupid and saying no one could love her and that was all I got on the subject....ugh.

I have said this a couple of times now, but I don't generally read about cowboys. However, when MJ Summers has a new book, I cannot refuse as I LOVE her cowboys!

Trey Johnson betrayed his cousin, and left the family ranch after. Now 3 years later, he has changed, and stayed out of trouble. After finishing up college so he can get a good job, he finds out that his son's mother has passed away and he must go to Brazil for Tomas. Trey has the fight of his life on his hands, but his son's nanny Alessandra has been a God send in helping him navigate the courts. What he didn't expect was to develop feelings for her. Will Trey and Alessandra take a chance on love?

I'm a big fan of MJ Summers, and so I LOVED this story. The character development is great, and the secondaries are amazing as usual. A beautiful, emotional, well written storyline flows smoothly. MJ Summers is so talented at writing beautiful, realistic love stories. Her fantastic writing style always pulls out my emotions in every book I read. I love the fact that Trey has redeemed himself in this book, and became a man of substance, showing that second chances are possible. Great Story, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I read all the books in this series. I ahve to say that the stories weren't perfect, but there was something about the books that I definitely enjoyed. The first book featured a hot cowboy and a cute, lovable chef. Who wouldn't love something like that, right? This book, Breaking Hearts, is about Trey, the cousin of the first book's hero. If you've followed this series, then you've already met him, and you know that he's the father of the little boy that the first book's hero's ex-girlfriend wanted him to claim.

I was excited about this book because Trey's story seemed to be incomplete in the first book. Also, he seemed like a great guy who was just young and made mistakes but was generally a good person. And that was shown in this book. He was serious with school, he worked hard, he truly loved his son, even if he was in the US and his son was with the mother.

What I didn't like about this book was that it dragged too much, especially on the first half. I mean, it felt like this was just written because the author was forced to continue the series and had the easiest story to start with on Trey. However, the interesting plot that was in the other books wasn't quite present here. I still enjoyed it; however, it wasn't as good as I anticipated.

Love this Series and this book. Trey has done some growing up but he is about to do some more!!! After a tragic event that has forced Trey to become more active in Tomas' life he meets someone really special. Has he grown up enough to handle both? He's trying but it's not nearly as easy as he thought it would be. Gabriela is still a mix between a bitch, stupid, and a gold digger and she is going to pay the price.

Trey meets the nanny Alessa and she is determined to figure out if he is good enough to be in Tomas' life after what Gabriela has done and what she find surprises her.

I'm not going to tell you anymore you have to read it but watch for Carlos, I love him! Watch for Lorena, she is a wicked also. Oh, Cole might just be back in the picture after all this time.

Ok, go enjoy! It's an emotional, and delicious journey.

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Surprising journey of love and redemption. Trent has made several mistakes in his life but he is trying to be a better man to provide for his unexpected son, Tomas. Tomas lives in Brazil with his mother Gabriella who is working to find a wealthy husband to make her life easier. She makes some questionable choices and suddenly, Tomas, is without a mother. Alessandra has been the one constant in Tomas’s life as his nanny so when Trent arrives to be his father, she finds herself torn, knowing she will need to walk away from Tomas but being drawn in by Trent’s sexy and charming demeanor. As Trent is faced with the challenges of being allowed to take Tomas out of Brazil, he finds an ally in Alessandra, the nanny and law school student. Alessandra provides Trent with a home on her family farm as he waits the court’s decision. Will these two find something even greater between the two of them? Will Tomas get a mother after all?

I have truly enjoyed every single book in this series so far. Breaking Hearts is another perfect book. We got to meet Trey in Break In Two. He plays an interesting part in that book, but I am so glad that he got his own book. In the previous book, Trey is mesmerized by super gorgeous Gabriella. She is really nothing but trouble. Gold digging whore comes to mind. She and Trey have a son. She takes him away to Brazil, where he is basically raised by his nanny Alessandra. Gabriella overdoses and dies, leaving Alessandra with the task of caring for him until Trey gets to Brazil. Instant attraction! Now the book really begins! The struggles that Trey and Alessandra face are at times heart breaking. The path to love is never easy as they soon find out. This was such a wonderful love story. I think everyone should read it!

I liked, but didn't love this one. The writing is good and I was pretty impressed with Trey and Alessandra in the beginning. Unfortunately, they moved way too fast and I think every reader will see the writing on the wall. I also found it difficult to believe that Alessandra, who handled law school and full-time caregiving for a toddler, would become this immature person. She and Trey both had some unflattering moments and the pace dragged a bit in places, which didn't help this reader.

If you've read the other books in this series, I'm thinking this is a must read for you. If you haven't, I'd recommend reading a good sampling of reviews and then trying the sample before buying.

I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I love all the books from MJ Summers easy to read and all stand alone but also related.

I really like Trey and find out the he has always been a good guy I like him more.
After leaving Colorado Trey has a plan - he's going to college, get a job so he can support his son- Turns out life had another plan for him. He finds himself in a foreign country without a penny and having to take care of little Tomas.
While waiting in Brazil Trey falls for Alessa, Tomas Nanny, she is, smart, loving and wonderful caregiver to Tomas. The chemistry between Alessa and Trey make this book one of my favorite, they have ups and downs but they will always find the way to back.

I had some major issues with Trey and his nonsense in Book two.. and here we are at book 4 and Trey is looking at a new life, new love and a child. Wouldn't be Trey is he didn't act like a horses backside at one point in the book and I swear I could have throat punched him. I'm not sure what woke him the heck up, but he finally "got it."
I love MJ's writing and how she develops the characters fully as well as a storyline that makes sense in the real world. This was a good addition to the series as it gave Trey a chance to redeem himself.
And that he did.
Thank you MJ for another great book!
