Feel the Wind looks at the tricks the wind plays, making turbines spin, bubbles float, and kites soar higher.
With rich vocabulary and delightful illustrations, the Look Around Books (Hear the Sea, Look at the Sky, Feel the Wind) are a perfect way to introduce the beauty and power of nature to young children. These three separate picture books are thematically linked--celebrating the wonders of nature that children encounter in their daily lives--but the rhythm of the text and style of the art are unique to each story. Be sure to get all three titles in the Look Around Books series.
This is one of a set of three books dealing with Nature. The wind is described in all its glory showing all the various things it does. From producing energy, assisting with transportation, showing various weather patterns and just having fun with it (blowing bubbles, flying kites) the little boy in the story shares his experiences with the reader. The illustrations are cute and the way the wind is depicted in the story with faces and expressions is adorable. Using this book to open a unit on weather and wind would be very enjoyable for students as well as just a read aloud with parents and their children.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
A fun, rhyming book that encourages kids to use all of their senses. I love that this book highlights all of the benefits of wind from wind as an energy source, to weather patterns, transportation and pure enjoyment. Imaginative illustrations bring the wind to life as the text encourages kids to observe and enjoy this part of nature. A great book for kids ages 3-5 that will stir their senses and awaken their appreciation of nature.
The book was received for free in return for an honest review.
I loved this book! The examples of all the things the wind does that you just don't think about. This opens a child's mind to the wind, the invisible wonder. Something that is around them everyday, but they don't see or think of it. The illustrations were very imaginative by giving the wind a face and shape. ARC through Netgalley for an honest opinion.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review from NetGalley. I love the premise of the story and the imaginative journey the wind takes as it moves through the boy's life. I don't think it flows as well as it could and the ending is very abrupt. I like the illustrations, they are very whimsical and I think children will appreciate the personification of wind.
The illustrations are colorful and cute in this simple rhyming book about the wind. The wind is personified as clouds and is depicted doing things like making turbines and kites spin. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.
