Investments guru, KC Shuster, did not return to work in Chicago after a three-month sabbatical. When no one hears from KC—Kate to her family— and a private detective fails to uncover anything of importance—in over five months, her father asks his two older daughters, Ava and Piper, to find her.

While recently the widowed Ava needs a break from Atlanta society and secrets bombarding her from beyond the grave, Piper continues to question the wisdom of staying in a marriage to a struggling singer/song writer in Nashville. For different reasons, each welcomes the role of playing detective while renewing their once-close relationship.

I grew up in rural Wisconsin where my father was a veterinarian. We always had lots of pets around from Great Danes to Siamese cats. We had ponies and horses of various sizes from mean little Shetlands to big Appaloosas. We raised calves, hogs, sheep, ducks and chinchillas – not all at once. We had a cow named Elsie and an Angora goat named Nanabelle. And there was always a herd of children around too, starting with six of us girls and all of our friends. After I left home there were two boys and a girl added by adoption and even later my baby brother was born. Ten of us in all and I am the oldest.
I had a forty plus year career in healthcare information technology under various names from data processing to information services to information technology. When I retired, I finally had time to learn to spin fibers into unique, beautiful yarn that I make into gifts for friends and family. While I am spinning and weaving, I am writing in my head until the writing has to spill out onto the screens on my computer. And if I don't get it right, my characters visit my dreams to get things corrected.
I have been married almost forever to my own real life romance hero!
On my wall is a plaque that says “The joy of the journey is in the ride” and I believe it to be true. I am enjoying every minute of my newest journey and trying to squeeze as much joy from it as possible.

FINDING KATE is a captivating tale of romance and mystery. The Shuster family’s youngest daughter, Kate, is missing. Her sisters Ava and Piper put their lives on hold to find their younger sister. The story is masterfully told with lots of great plot twists that kept me guessing throughout the story—I couldn’t put the book down. Both sisters as well as other family members are well developed characters that are part of an intriguing family storyline. I was immersed in the Shuster’s world. I couldn’t get enough of the book’s heartfelt, cozy vibe that included a satisfying ending. A great read!

I so enjoyed this latest story by Kim Janine Ligon, one of my favorites. While I admit to getting irritated with Kate, I enjoyed the sisters relationship a great deal. The story is, at its heart, at road trip story with lots of stops; it's also a love story with several different kinds of love. Ms. Ligon has a gentle writing voice that I always enjoy. FINDING KATE was no exception.

I received an advance reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
