This is Rory’s fourth book in the Soulshares series and it is definitely the best, a close tie to the first though.
As I have noted with the other three books, this is a very densely written, carefully constructed world and though you might be able to figure things out without reading the other books, I don’t recommend it. The richness of the world, the other characters, the chronicity of the story all culminate in this final book and it would not be nearly as good as a stand alone book.
Cuinn is a character that captured my interest right from the start and he doesn’t disappoint in this book. His love, Rian, is also a great character – perhaps the most complex in the series. He has lived a life of pain and relates to others only through that medium. It is heartbreaking at times to read his story, but it makes his happiness that much more sweet when he gets it.
The evil Marfach is still a factor and the battle for the ley line energy continues in this book. We are given an ending – mostly tied up, somewhat heartbreaking, but overall satisfying with just a hint that if there was more to be said, it could be.
I enjoyed this series and recommend it – especially to people with vivid imaginations, an appreciation for detail, an enjoyment of snarkiness and a love of Fae.
I give it 4.5 out of 5 hearts

Firestorm was the book I so looking forward to in Rory Ni Coileain's SoulShares series. It was Cuinn's story and I thought this would be the FINALE of the series in regard of the battle between Fae and their immortal enemy, the Marfach. Only, it didn't turn out the way I expected.
It's safe to say I was both pleased and disappointed with this book. Yes, Cuinn, the last Loremaster alive finally met his scair-anam, Rian, a Fae prince whom he had kidnapped from the cradle himself and left at the Patterns years ago. An unlikely pair of SoulShared Fae, with chips on their shoulders and millennia in the making missions to fulfill. But of course, I should've had known by now that except for book one in the series, Hard As Stone, each book would not explore the tale of the leading pair only. The intricate plot made it so every previous characters in the series be involved in the rite and clash along with Cuinn and Rian's. There was a more elaborate work of Fae united of the series so far, which I enthusiastically applaud for group effort.
However, not only I felt the lack of Cuinn and Rian's personal transitions and their chemistry, other than sexual ones of course; for all the mention of how deadly dangerous the villain was I didn't feel their dangerous vibes at all. I personally thought that I felt there's something off from the story. To me, this also felt like a smudge to the story, though understandable - considering there'll still more book to come after this.
To summarize, this was a good story, a must read for those following the series. I just felt with Cuinn and Prince Rian, it should have had been great. But,... Maybe they saved the best punch for the next story.

**BEST BOOK**
Firestorm is the fourth book in the SoulShares series and it’s probably my new favorite. Rian Sheridan and Cuinn an Dearmad are perfect for each other even if they both fight the attraction.
This is not a book that should be read alone, there is a lot of world build up and some plot threads come to a close. The author does a wonderful job of building a unique world full of interesting characters. I found myself hooked in from the moment I started reading and I couldn’t put it down. The Fae are complicated but I was able to follow and understand all the nuances. I look forward to more stories.
I highly recommend this series and this story. This is a wonderful world and I want everyone to enjoy it.

When Cuinn, the last of the Loremasters, is tasked with finding the Prince Royal of Fire, he comes face to face with not only the baby he stole two decades before but also his SoulShare. Unable to believe he could have a fae as a SoulShare, he can’t resist the strong connection between them. But with finding Rian comes more problems like trying to save a whole Realm from death, oh and figuring out why Rian rejects their SoulShare. With the threat of the ancient evil still out there, can Cuinn and Rian push past their own issues and bond and, with the help of the rest of the SoulShared fae, will they be able to save the Realm they once lived in?
Okay, for anyone with this aversion, I feel like they should be warned that this book starts off with a fisting. It is not between Cuinn and Rian, instead it is with Rian trying to reach the point of pain he needs to satisfy his craving. If you don’t like heavy kink, this book won’t be for you because while I wouldn’t necessarily call this book brutal, Cuinn will do whatever it takes to give Rian pleasure even if it’s only by pain.
Now, with that out of the way, I really loved these characters. We’ve known Cuinn for most of this series as the sarcastic, arrogant, uncaring fae who is just doing his job. The only time he’s ever really showed emotion is when Lochlann came back and brought old memories with him. As it stands, Cuinn is almost nothing like he once was. In fact, he’s the exact opposite. Now he knows what having a SoulShare is like, he understands the feelings behind it – the intensity, possessiveness, jealousy and desire to make his partner happy. I loved that the tables were turned on Cuinn and that he got a taste of what he’s been mocking the other fae for doing.
Rian is a complicated character. He has a depth of pain and anger in him that he doesn’t understand. He has a power he can’t control and has a hard time believing Cuinn that he’s a Prince and a fae. I really enjoyed the fact that Cuinn was frustrated with Rian and his inability to listen to what Cuinn was trying to tell him. I also liked that they both fought the bonding at first and the explosion when they finally relented. It was even more extraordinary when they used their connection with trying to fix the fae Realm. It made things interesting and complex and had a LOT of surprises, IMO.
This one was intense but I did have a few issues with it. Mainly, there were three or four times when I was just extremely confused on what was going on. I felt like the characters were jumping from one thing to the next without any transition or explanation between them. Normally, this would be part of a mundane character trait and I would let it go but seeing as these moments took place while Cuinn or one of the other fae were describing/thinking of how to solve a problem, that wasn’t exactly the case. I also felt like this one had a lot of unanswered questions such as why did Rian’s Pattern tattoo come through as stars when everyone else’s came through as Celtic knots or how was it that the Marfach didn’t remember Bryce at all or how did Bryce get through Conall’s ward without Conall noticing it? Lastly, this one did have a tad too much sex for my liking but as the series goes, it’s definitely less smutty than the other books.
Overall, this was still a great addition to the series. I love that the fae are becoming more integrated and working together. I also loved that Rian was so emotionally damaged and Cuinn was so broken up about it. I feared that the explanation behind Rian’s masochism (although it can’t really be called that, IMO) wouldn’t make sense but, in the end, I totally got why Rian was Rian. As things ended, I’m really looking forward to what happens next and seeing how everything changes now that the SoulShared fae have ‘resolved’ a major problem.

Raunchy, sweaty descriptions of male/male sex between two strapping, attractive men who are also Fae, ready to swear in English or Gaelic at the slightest provocation, unwilling to give an inch, overflowing with passion and pathos flow seamlessly with an intricate, exquisite world of magic, sometimes mingling together to save the world, keep at bay some nasty enemies, and well-intentioned manipulators. Some of the backstory was summarized from previous volumes, which is the consequence of starting with Book 4 (why some of the villains hated certain characters and the status quo for SoulSharing which Cuinn and Rian kick down by being together), yet I caught up fairly quickly. The lovers in this story, Cuinn and Rian were well-developed in their ornery, headstrong personalities. Neither was willing to back down, giving an inch, maintaining a balance as strong, willful characters, fighting their passion, only to be slowly seduced by each other, generating plenty of steam and talking snark. The setting with the club was intriguing and the descriptions of magic were breathtaking. All of this included a liberal of smattering of Gaelic and a glossary of terms in the back I took copious notes on. For all of these qualities, I give this four stars.

I feel I have to first add a warning: This story contains violent/pain sex. Just in case.
The other stories seemed to be building up to this one, though it's not the end things have certainly changed. They've got into a pretty good position now (haha) but what they did is going to heavily effect what happens next, we just don't yet know how exactly.
As always, could do with more character time. I LIKE these guys and I'd have liked more time to hang out with them. The good thing is that each book continues the story and so you get to see the others again.
Cuinn was the quickest to accept his scair'anam, probably because he knew (or thought he knew) what he was getting into. And honestly, Rian seemed to take everything pretty well, for all his life was because of Cuinn. But then I guess we only saw the bad and he had so many years of good first to balance it all. There was little not-getting-along to be honest and for some reason I thought there'd be more. The pairings are getting semi faster and the story is getting deeper.
Within these books, any conflicts are resolved lightning quick, problems are solved together and no one hangs about saying "Hold on a minute, why do I have to be with you, I didn't choose this!" or "But me me me!" they're all "Hey! How are ya?" and "Well this sucks for me, but lets be honest, it sucks for you more." and that's just magic and nice.
I'm looking forward to the next, I can't wait to see what the guys messed up and if they can fix it and it will be nice to see the redemption of Bryce. Hopefully he gets rid of that mustache...

‘Firestorm’ by Rory Ni Coileain is the fourth book in the SoulShare series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, but I would have happily purchased this book just for the pleasure of reading it.
Ms. Ni Coileain has created a truly magical world. From the very first book in the series, I was hooked, and ‘Firestorm’ has just made the magic even better. All of the characters are so full of life – from anger, pain, fear, confusion and despair to hope, joy, laughter and love – that they become real. Each set of MCs have their own trials to overcome, but as they do so, (quite painfully at times), they also learn how to work with all the other characters. And the plots and scene descriptions are just as magical as the characters.
The main characters in ‘Firestorm’ – Cuinn and Rian – both live in their own private versions of Hell. One knows from long experience all about the pain of sacrifice and the other is just beginning to learn. What happens when torture is turned into a weapon against the person (or persons) who originally wielded it and that weapon can’t be turned off?
When I read a story that makes me laugh and cry, gasp out loud and then fall back against the cushions of the couch while staring around the room in dazed wonder at the brilliance of the scene I just read, I know it is a fantastic story. Each one of the SoulShare books has done this for me.
I highly recommend ‘Firestorm’ and the rest of the SoulShare series! I sincerely hope there will be more books in the near future, as I haven’t gotten my fill of these adventures, yet. And with that said, I will end this review with a tiny quote from deep within the pages of ‘Firestorm’:
“Dammit, Jim, I’m a lawyer, not a forensic pathologist.”

The main characters that you are immediately drawn into are Rian and Cuinn.
Rian starts out as a newborn Royal (I might add) Fae and Cuinn is charged
with taking the newborn and letting him go to the mortal realm. I will admit
that I'm a big sap and actually cried at the first few pages. Cuinn is
drawn to the baby although he has no idea why and Rian just watching him
and the emotions that the author brings out in the newborn just gutted me.
When you get to the present day all I can say is WOW!!! Rian is an adult
and you reconnect with him again in a BDSM kind of club is what I would say
and Rian is into pain the more the better and its what he gets off on and we
are reintroduced to Cuinn who Rian is instantly attracted too. Rian has
no idea who he is or why things happen to him. Like when he's upset his
hands turn red and he can torch things. Cian is the one that informs Rian
that he is the lost Prince Royal of the Demesne of Fire.
I don't want to say too much more because I would be giving away the rest
of the book. I will say I thought it was an awesome story and one that I would
highly recommend. This story has anger and pain, love and laughter and sizzling
sex.

anyways. I love the Soul Shares series and each story makes me an even bigger

“Firestorm” is just the right title for the fourth book of the SoulShares series. The fire it promises sparks right from the start and flows all through it, to finish in a true explosion.
I longed to get to this book for about two months. During this time my expectations got quite high and now after closing the last page, I can say they weren’t high enough. It was more enchanting than I imagined.
Cuinn is as adorable and arrogant as always (you gotta love this guy!) but having found the other part of his soul, the gentler side of him shows through, especially in the moments he is dealing with his beloved, troubled prince. Rian is fascinating in his own way, or should I say many ways, and every time they are together is a real firestorm, be it of colliding emotions or irresistible passion.
Put in all of the Fae and their humans we’ve met in the previous books trying to make up a plan to outwit both the Marfach and the Loremasters in order to save the Realm and at the same time keep the newest couple together and you’ll get some idea of how wonderful this book is.
Only a faint idea, though, because nothing can beat the masterful way in which Rory ni Coileain tells us this tale of “Fire and magick and pain.” .And love, of course, the one thing in the name of which it is worth to sacrifice a world or two.

Magic, fantasy, love, anger, hope…. This book has it all.
Rian and Cuinn two men that have their own set of baggage to deal with. Instantly attracted to each other and Rian has a very unique sexual appetite that involves pain. Another hot, sexual and passionate story of two men going through the struggles to be together.
In the beginning, we get to see how they were connected as Rian starts out as a newborn Royal Fae and Cuinn is charged with taking the newborn and letting him go to the mortal realm. And come now in the present day, Cuinn needs to locate Rian in hopes of stopping the falling of the Realm.
There is so much anger between these two but they have so much chemistry it sizzles right out of the pages. Still a little confusing at times but again Rory brings to life such vivid imagination and strong, sexy main characters. There were parts where I was laughing and I may have shed a tear or two.
Overall, this was a good erotic fantasy and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I never expected to be sympathetic to Cuinn, although, I have to admit that he stared winning me over in Deep Plunge. He was the thorn in everyone’s side and none of the SoulShares hid the fact. I love it when an author changes my opinion of a character. ;)
As much as I loved the romance between Cuinn and Rian, Firestorm was a lot more than the unlikely connection between these two characters. This book in the SoulShares series answered a lot of questions, revealed a lot of hidden secrets and intensified the connection between all the SoulShared couples.
As I’ve said before, I wasn’t sure what I expected from this series when I first picked it up, but it’s turned out to be much more. I love the connection between all the characters (both past and present) and I’ve really enjoyed the alternating POVs (with the exception of the Marfach *shivers*.) Each installment adds so much to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I love the connection between all the characters (both past and present) and I’ve really enjoyed the alternating POVs (with the exception of the Marfach *shivers*.) Each installment adds so much to the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

So. Here I was perfectly happy with Josh as my favorite human SoulShare and Lochlann as my favorite Fae Soulshare when along comes the perfect Fae to tame Cuinn. Sorry Lochlann, I still love you but, damn, Rian is literally H. O. T. Hot!
With her usual flair, Rory has once again sucked me in and ripped my soul to shreds. I only have one more book to catch up with her, then I will be stuck waiting with the rest of her fans for the latest installment to be release!
If you haven't read any of these, you REALLY need to!! Hot men having hot sex and magick of all varieties. Evil lncarnate lurking around the corner trying to annihilate them all. Definitely a must read!

September 7, 2016My first venture into the world of Soul Shares. Out of order, yes, but I had no trouble following the storyline at all. This author has created a world of sexy fae males and their sexy human soul mates that kept me turning pages all night long! It's been a long time since any author has kept me up all night because I had to know what happened next. That author was a best seller. This series should be as well!
Lots of hot male on male sex interspersed with some awesome fantasy about the fae realm and why they are separated from us. Characters you want to meet, grow to love, tears, laughter, it has everything!

Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance
The SoulShare series by Rory Ni Coileain is one that I will be reading time and again. I don't think I will be getting tired of it anytime soon. Good thing, since book 6 is estimated for release in December, and there are at least two more in the works after that.
