Has a very well written amnesia trope with a good amount of angst thrown in. I would have loved it except that the heroine was just a doormat who was pining for the hero all her life. Now, I wouldn't normally have a problem with this, but in this case, Caitlyn agreeing to be a surrogate for her sister when she was in love with her husband was just too much. She became even more of a doormat when her sister died and her brother in law, Antonio was missing and declared dead as well, came back.

But what really turned me off was Antonio's actions prior to the plane crash.

For me that undermined the romance between Caitlyn and Antonio. I mean, think about it. Not once did he even notice the heroine. She wasn't even in the realm of possibility for him. The only reason she became a possible partner for him was because she provided him with kids. I felt like he was with her by default. He didn't even choose her. He was in love with the sister and . He lost everything including his wife and memory and she was suddenly his mate. Yeah. That sounds really romantic.

Regardless of circumstances there is no excuse for having an affair. That, in and of itself, ruined this love story. And who in the world wants to feel like they are beyond second choice. I hurt for the heroine when the hero left her right after she introduced him to her sister then married the sister... it broke her heart and she is still in love with him. Just not the kind of story I like to read. I didn't feel the H was very trustworthy after the affair came out. Glad I got this from the library. I would have been livid to pay for this type of story line.

This was a different twist for an amnesia story line. It had a few surprises and some I didn't really care for.

The heroine came across somewhat weak. I didn't really have much empathy or feel a connection with her either. The hero was fine until further into the story when somethings are revealed about his character and past that didn't sit well with me.

This had potential but didn't quite hit the mark.

I've always had a weakness for an amnesia trope. Antonio, our hero, has been recuperating from injuries received a year ago when he was found somewhere in Indonesia. He has no recollection of who he is. He spends his days fight training to help regain his fitness. His only clue to his identity comes when he is hit by his trainer and a flashback reveals the house where he lived in Malibu.

Caitlyn has spent the year quietly mourning the loss of her sister and also her brother-in-law. She had feelings for him when they first met years ago but her glamorous starlet sister, Vanessa, was the one he married. The only thing Caitlyn could do for them was be surrogate mother for the children Vanessa couldn't carry.

So when Antonio rolls up on her doorstep her first thought is for the children. She carried the triplets and has been their mother for eight months once the estate was settled.

Fortunately Antonio realises that he can't do without Caitlyn to look after his children. And there is an attraction he never expected.

It's quite obvious what the ideal result is going to be for the sake of everyone, but of course when Antonio recovers his memories, it could change everything.

I really enjoyed the story. A few things stopped me giving it a top score. One is that Caitlyn was breastfeeding three eight months old babies. Seriously I don't know how she found the time to fit Antonio into her schedule, even with a nanny. So that distracted me a little. I also found the revelations of Antonio's past a little disappointing in terms of my expectations of a hero. All the same it was a well done story and a very satisfying ending.

See more of my reviews on my blog Thoughts At One In The Morning.

My Thoughts:

Such a unique story! Caitlyn volunteered to surrogate for her sister and brother-in-law, but in the middle of her pregnancy, they're in a plane crash and believed to be dead. This leaves Caitlyn to raise the triplets on her own...that is, until Antonio shows up. He's alive, but with precious little memory of the past. Caitlyn helps him along with what has happened, including the three children he didn't realize he had. They work together to take care of the kids while Antonio tries to make sense of his past. He realizes Caitlyn needs to be there for his children since she knows them. What neither one of them counted on was the attraction. For Caitlyn, she's always wanted Antonio, but now that he's feeling something for her, who knows where this will go.

Triplets Under the Tree is a heartwarming story. It's touching the way everything played out for Caitlyn and Antonio. The amnesia aspect was well done. The secret from Antonio's past was definitely not what I expected, and I wasn't too fond of it, or the way Caitlyn reacted to it, but the rest of the story more than made up for it in the end for me. Another worthwhile read from Kat Cantrell!

My Rating: Very Good

I love the bookcover. Stupid title, stupid heroine. The prologue got my attention. Downhill from there. I picked this book up because I love babies that star in Harlequin books. But sadly it featured a stupid heroine and irritating, cheating hero. And there was very little interaction with the triplets. So disappointing.

From the cover to the synopsis, I was immediately intrigued to read the book. Having read Cantrell's works before I really wanted to read what she came up with time around. Needless to say, I was hooked with the story and how the characters evolved throughout the book.

In Triplets Under the Tree we get to meet Caitlyn and Antonio, whose paths crossed and for different reasons they ended up becoming brother and sister-in-law, instead of getting the chance to be in a relationship. Right from the very beginning we get a quick flash of what was happening to Antonio and it all happens fast, we get the feeling that he is in some type of trouble and the whole scene is confusing for the character. Then we go back to the present in which Caitlyn is boried about her three babies, she goes on to remember the events leading up to her present state. That is when we get to find out that she had been a surrogate for her sister, aka Antonio's wife.

After learning that both Antonio and her sister had died in a plan crash, she took over Antonio's fortune and company. Now she has to take care of a lot of things, including her children, and that has changed her life forever. As a single mother, she had to change her plans, but she loves what she calls her children now and is willing to do anything to protect them. When Antonio unexpectedly shows up at his house, she doesn't believe that he is really back, but now she fears that he'll want to take the babies away from her. Finding out that he has no idea who she is or that he is even a father is worse than she thought, now she has to teach him everything that he missed. But the more time she spends with him, the more she falls for him, and she'll have to decide whether to be with him or turn her back on him for good.

After been in a plan crash, Antonio Cavallari has lost his memories and the life that he once knew. Now he is back and ready to claim what is his no matter the cost. But the more he starts to trigger the memories that he once had, the more complicated his life becomes when he finds out the secrets that he kept and the ones that could potentially hurt his relationship with Caitlyn. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was interesting to read how Antonio slowly got some of his memories back. It is evident from the very start that the characters have chemistry and they can't get away from that. But things from their past could harm their relationship if they don't trust each other. Throughout the book we do get both perspectives and that just made the story that much more interesting to read. The babies have a lot of personality as well which was cute. Overall I highly recommend reading this book, it was funny and romantic with a lot of holiday spirit. : )

Good book about a man who gets a second chance at life and love. The book opens with Antonio, going by the name Falco, on an island in Indonesia. He has no idea how he got there, and no memory of life before he was dragged from the ocean. All he knows is that he can fight, so that's what he does, until a blow to the head knocks one memory loose, sending him to the address he sees in his mind.

Caitlyn is living in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, taking care of the three babies she bore for them. She considers them her children now and is doing her best to raise them while protecting their inheritance. She is stunned to answer the door one day to find an Antonio she barely recognizes on the other side. She can't give up her children, and it's obvious that he needs her help.

Caitlyn has always had feelings for Antonio. She had met him first, but it was her starlet sister that he married, so she kept her feelings to herself. Those feelings give her an extra sensitivity toward him, and she steps in to help him adjust to being back. Antonio often feels like Caitlyn is the only thing keeping him sane. Neither of them had expected the desire that burned between them. Antonio is fully prepared to pursue it, but Caitlyn experiences some guilty feelings over having a chance at what she always wanted only because her sister is dead.

Antonio struggles with the frustration of not being able to remember his former life. He begins to get some of his memories back in small chunks, but not the ones he really wants. He feels that there is something important about his marriage that is just out of reach. There are also times he that he seems to be fighting his memories of himself.

I liked seeing the relationship that built between Caitlyn and Antonio as she tried to help him adjust to his life. I loved the way that she supported him, helping to keep others from realizing his memory loss. She was wary of getting involved with him, but Antonio wasn't going to give up once he'd made up his mind. He did show a fair amount of patience while he waited for her to make up her mind. Things were going along pretty well for them as they built a nice little family together, until one particular memory returned. That memory creates a rift between them, as Caitlyn discovers that Antonio is the perfect man she had thought he was. A second blow comes with the discovery of her sister's journal, and Caitlyn isn't sure how to deal with the knowledge.

While I was a little disturbed by Antonio's past actions, it is pretty obvious that his accident and amnesia has allowed him to make some major changes in his life. I thought that Caitlyn was a bit hypocritical in her attitude toward his transgressions considering her envy and jealousy of her sister. Fortunately, both of them were able to overcome their more negative traits to build a better future together.

Kat Cantrell wrote a story that I found different from anything that I have read. Triplets Under the Tree is not a Christmas romance. It is a story of survival, second chances and moving forward. Antonio is a fighter in every sense of the word. He has managed to cheat death, survive loss and find his way home despite having amnesia. But the surprises don't end there. As he battles fleeting memories that reveal aspects of his past little by little he starts to realize that he does not like the things he is discovering about himself. Caitlyn is a nurturer. She has a tender heart and a strong will. When circumstances find her looking after three beautiful babies and losing her heart to the unattainable "man of her dreams". I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. I loved this story. Antonia and Caitlyn had to learn that love is about sacrifice and acceptance. Antonio was blessed to get a second chance at life, love, family and living out his dream. Nothing beats that.

Antonio Cavallari suffers from amnesia after being involved in a terrible crash. When he returns home, he finds a woman there at his house. He doesn't know this woman and he has no clue what this woman means when she tells him he is a father not to one baby but three! When did that happen? He has no memory of the day he'd done the deed. As if the baby news is not enough, the woman drops another bombshell—the woman claims she is the mother of the babies. Oh goodness. If he had fathered three babies with her then there must be memories, right? Antonio is out of his mind. To say he is confused is an understatement. But as the story becomes clearer with each chapter, all the questions are answered and Antonio understands the situation. He is the father of the babies, yes, but the mother of said babies isn't his wife. She is actually his dead wife's sister who had been a surrogate. Caitlyn Hopewell has always been infatuated with Antonio for years and now she has a chance to share something with him. When Antonio asks for her help in caring for the babies, she jumps at the chance. She can continue to care for Antonio's children, be their mother. But as she spends more time with Antonio the attraction between them is inevitable. But what happens when Antonio's memories return? Would things change? (But geez Caitlyn, Antonio was married to your sister and you were infatuated with him? Seriously?)

Overall, Triplets Under the Tree by Kat Cantrell was a good story. But I would have loved for Christmassy stuff to happen.

Caitlyn has her handles full taking care of her 3 beautiful babies. While she does not regret having them her life has been reduced to just them. She left her job to be a full time mother to them and now her life revolves around 5AM feedings and diapers, but she wouldn't change it for anything. She just wishes she has someone to share it with.

Antonio has no memory of who he is, but after a hit to the head while sparring with a friend he sees house overlooking the water, an address that he seems to know, and an image of a woman with red hair. As he makes his way back to what he thinks is his home, he has no idea that he is in for quite a ride.

When Caitlyn opens the door the last person she expects to see is her brother-in-law. He is suppose to be dead. Then panics sets in when she realizes that she might lose her children. After all she was just suppose to be a surrogate and while she has always harbored a secret love for him, she will fight him with all that is in her to keep her babies.

Antonio is drawn to Caitlyn. He is shocked to find he is a well known public figure and a father of triplets. As he tries to navigate his rediscovered life he finds that he relies more and more on her. But as he starts remembering more and more of his life he finds that he is not sure that she will love the man he was, even if he is different now.

So many surprise twists in this book! I really enjoyed it!

Caitlyn Hopewell opens the door and is blown away! Antonio Cavallari, father of her triplets and believed to be dead for the last year, is on her doorstep!

Caitlyn had agreed to be a surrogate for her sister Vanessa and her husband Antonio. She was 4 months pregnant when they left on a trip to Thailand that they never returned from. Their plane crashed and all were believed to be dead. Caitlyn has been raising the babies as her own since their birth.

Antonio has no idea who he is. He was found in the water in Indonesia by a fisherman and taken to a village to recuperate. A knock in the head has given him back a snippet of memory. He remembered his house in Malibu, so he struggled to find his way there to see if someone could tell him who he was.

Once Caitlyn is convinced that it's really Antionio, she starts to try to fill him in as much as she can on his previous life and integrate him back into his busy lifestyle as a billionaire MMA fighter, turned venue owner.

Will Antonio take the kids away from Caitlyn once he's settled back into his life, or will they decide to raise them together. And when he realizes that Caitlyn has feelings for him, will he decide to take a chance and act on his attraction?

Triplets Under the Tree is Kat Cantrell’s contribution to Harlequin Desire’s Billionaires and Babies series. Antonio Cavallari is a successfully retired MMA fighter who owns his own business. While traveling with his wife, he endures a plane crash that takes his wife’s life. Suffering from amnesia, he finally makes his way back home. Antonio has regained some of his memory but still has a huge gap for other memories. When he arrives home, he’s greeted by his sister-in-law, Caitlyn Hopewell. Not only is she living in his home, but is also raising his triplets that she was the surrogate for.

Caitlyn has always had feelings for Antonio. As she helps him come to grips with his past life and learning how to care for his children, Caitlyn and Antonio grow closer. In time, secrets are revealed and past dreams are revisited that ultimately change the course of their lives.

I loved both Caitlyn and Antonio. This was the perfect holiday read. I highly recommend Triplets Under the Tree. I’d like to disclose that I received an advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Triplets Under the Tree by Kat Cantrell was a quick read with many twists and turns to keep you turning the page.

Antonio loses his memory after being in a car crash. He finds his way back home, but he only has bits and pieces to go on. When he gets home he’s met with a woman, Caitlyn, who informs him that he’s a daddy. Not to just one baby, but to three and on top of that jaw-dropping news, she lets him know that she’s the mother. To say he’s shocked is an understatement. This is just the beginning as there is way more to the story.

I enjoyed Caitlyn and Antonio together, but some of the secrets that get revealed later on in the story had me questioning whether or not they should be together. But when I really think about what happened to Antonio, I don’t really blame him, but I don’t really approve either…(LOL) but it’s not for me to approve of or not, that’s Caitlyn’s job. I did enjoy how Antonio dealt with the situation. He’s really a stand-up guy and I was rooting for them towards the end.

Overall an enjoyable read!

It's been a year since Caitlyn mourned the lost of her sister and brother in law Antonio. Since then she's been living in their old home with their triplets whom she was surrogate mother to. Imagine her surprise when he shows up a year later missing his memory.

I love it when a cover matches the book and this cover suited it perfectly. I thought that this book was a fun, enjoyable, short and enjoyable. Its based off during the christmas season so for those of you who are looking for holiday focused books with the bit a steaminess this book just might be for you. I loved how this book turned out I liked the attraction between the two. I loved that there was enough drama to keep things interesting with every memory surfaced there a bit more information learning about the type of person Antonio was. Overall a great story I really enjoyed it.

I really should have read the description on this one as I cannot handle story lines where the hero had a relationship (in the case he married) the sister. I was confused through most of the book on why the sister would even be a surrogate-masochist much?-with a man she had liked BEFORE he met and apparently fell for her sister.

Oh, but later we learn he had a thing for her...kinda?

Again, see confused.

Also, who would have let her have control-even though she did very little-over his gym? I know she's the sole surviving relative and all, but really?? He would have had partners?? I dunno. I think the whole she's gonna end up with her dead sisters ex-husband and raising their kids as her own thing just creeped me out too much.

All in all, it was not my cuppa but I will say that I appreciated that this her made his billions in a most unconventional way.

I have been a fan of Kat Cantrell for a while. Always one of my go to authors. When I started the book, I was not expecting what I got! I was totally engrossed in the book. Could not put it down…which made for a rough day at work the following day! Caitlyn and Antonio are two strong, sexy people. When they get together, the sparks fly. But all is not what it seems. As the story unfolds, secrets are revealed. Challenges had to be faced. The big question was: Can Caitlyn and Antonio meet these challenges and overcome them. Look out for the twist at the end…omg. I would have to say that this is probably one of my favorite Kat books. It is one that will go on my read again list. If you are looking for a great Christmas read…here it is!

Triplets Under The Tree by Kat Cantrell. Antonio Cavallari and his wife couldn't have children. Her sister Caitlyn Hopewell said she would be a surrogate women for them. Antonio and his wife went on a plane trip. The plane crashes. They find the wives body but not Antonio. Antonio ends up in a hospital with a concussion and only remembers a few things. He gets himself back to his home a year later. While Caitlyn is home pregnant, she has triplets. Antonio can't remember his wife, he remembers the boxing place he started, later he finds out he had an affair after his wife had an affair. Caitlyn had always loved Antonio. Things develop between the two of them. A lot goes on in this book. A must read.

These little novels by Harlequin are an easy and quick read. This was a good story about a plane crash and death and survivor. Caitlyn Hopewell was a surrogate for her sister and brotherinlaw giving birth to Triplets. The plan crash kills her sister and Supposedly the brother-in-law. One year later the Antonio shows up at his mansion with partial amnesia.Caitlyn has custody of the triplets and is living in mansion raising the babies as her own. Their journey continues with Antonio slowing getting his memory back and is falling for his sister-in-law. Characters draw one in by tugging at ones heartstrings.

Kat Cantrell is one of my very favorite authors in the world and I don't just say that to make the review sound better. Kat also gave me this book to read in exchange for a very honest review. So here is my review:
This story is moving, full of surprises and oh so sweet. The story has some very very hot sex scenes, which I absolutely love. And no, it is not all sex; it has some heartbreak, some heartache, some exhilaration, some funny spots, and every other emotion that you can think of went through this book. It really is an excellent book and I hope you read it because I know you will enjoy it!

Caitlyn Hopewell always had a crush on Antonio Cavallari and when she agreed to help out she didn't think she would get the HEA ending she dreamed of. A MMA fighter he was a badass in the cage and it was in his blood to be the best.
Kat Cantrell has a way with writing characters true to life who are strong but wonderfully loved.

This story had some high points and some that were a little unrealistic. A man presumed dead returns after a year on a remote island. He discovers his wife has died in the same plane crash and the wife's sister has been their surrogate and delivered triplets. The only reason this is a Christmas story is that it's set in that time frame. A nice story but a little fanciful. I think I'll find some of her other books to read and see if I enjoy them a little more.

This book tells an excellent story about a man coming back from being presumed dead and finding that even though some of his memories are gone, he is able to make new and better memories with his children and the mother of his children. Anthony and Caitlyn are able to work through their difficulties in being together with each other and their children and learn to love both each other and themselves.

A DIFFERENT LOVE STORY

Caitlin had always loved her sister's husband, after all she met him first. After the plane crash, Antonio returns home 1 year later to find he has triplets and Caitlin. His and her life after his return, was a good and unique love story. I would recommend this book.
