A set of interesting memoirs. Each of the chapters is witty and engaging. There wasn't a single one that was boring. I envy him for the eventful college life he had had. The narration is simple and straightforward. I recommend this to those who are looking for something to lift their moods.

നടൻ മുകേഷ് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാൽ തന്നെ ആദ്യം മനസ്സിൽ വരുന്നത് കൊല്ലം എന്ന ജില്ല കൂടെയാണല്ലോ.
കൊല്ലം എസ് എൻ കോളേജിൽ പഠിച്ച കാലത്തെ ഓർമ്മകളാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ കൂടുതലായും പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത് ഒപ്പം സിനിമ ജീവിതത്തിൽ നിന്നെടുത്ത സന്ദർഭങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്..

കോളേജ് കാലത്ത് ഓരോ ദിവസവും എന്തൊക്കെ തമാശകൾ ഒപ്പിക്കാം എന്ന് ആലോചിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന മുകേഷിനെയും കൂട്ടുകാരെയും നമുക്ക് കാണാം.. തമാശ ഇല്ലാത്തൊരു ദിവസം ഈ കൂട്ടർക്ക് ഇല്ല എന്ന് തോന്നും... സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയും മൊബൈൽ ഫോണുമൊന്നും ഇല്ലാത്ത, കലയും നാടകവും സിനിമയുമൊക്കെ ഇട ചേർന്ന ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ ക്യാമ്പസ്‌ കഥകൾ വായിക്കാൻ തന്നെ സുഖമാണ്... ആ രീതിയിലാണ് അവതരണം..

നർമ്മം പറയുന്നയാൾ അത് എഴുതിയാൽ ഫലിക്കണം എന്നില്ലല്ലോ. അതിനെന്തായാലും അനിതര സാധാരണമായ എഴുത്ത് നൈപുണ്യം തന്നെ വേണം. അത് മുകേഷിന് ആവോളമുണ്ട്.

I bought this book during a long journey and it served its purpose well. Its a collection of memories shared by Mukesh on a popular film magazine. It's a good read when there are distractions or when there is nothing better to do. I liked the book but I would've rated this with 2.5 stars as there was nothing to love. Although the memoir is presented with a good sense of humour, the content was too mixed up to give any feel of reading a book. It would have been great as a blog or, as it was, an article series on a magazine.

A light hearted book from my favorite actor during childhood days. The stories told in this book are not out of the world kind of stuff, yet they are amazing due to the factors like how he visualizes the stories of his past and how he presents them. One think I will take away from this book is that to live a wondeful life, perhaps the most important thing is to see things which happened in your life in a comical and wonderful fashion, as they are not ordinary until you think they are.

ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഓരോ അനുഭവങ്ങളും നർമത്തിൽ ചാലിച്ച കഥകളായി മുകേഷ് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ചിരി മാത്രമല്ല, നമ്മളെ സങ്കടപെടുത്തുന്നതും ചിന്തിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുമായ കഥകളും ഇതിൽ ഉണ്ട്. യൗവ്വനകാലത്തെ തമാശകളും എൺപതുകളിലെ കോളേജ് കുമാരികളും പ്രണയങ്ങളുമെല്ലാം വായിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇന്ത്യാ ടുഡേ ഈ പുസ്തകത്തെ പറ്റി പറഞ്ഞത് വളരെ വലിയൊരു സത്യമാണെന്നു എന്നെ ഓർമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

"ഒരു നടന്റെ ഫിലിമോഗ്രഫിയുടെ പേരിലായിരിക്കില്ല നാളെകളിൽ മുകേഷ് കൂടുതൽ ഓർക്കപ്പെടുക. അനിതരസാധാരണമായ നർമ്മപടുത്വവും സർഗ്ഗാത്മകശേഷിയുമുള്ള ഒരു എഴുത്തുകാരനായിട്ടായിരിക്കും എന്ന് ഈ പുസ്തകം സൂചന നൽകുന്നു."

ഞാൻ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നതും കോളേജിൽ പഠിച്ചതുമായ ഒരു കാലഘട്ടമല്ല ഈ കഥകളിൽ വിവരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെങ്കിലും ആ നഷ്ടപെട്ട കാലത്തിന്റെ വളരെ മനോഹരമായ ഒരു ചിത്രം ഇത് എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ വരച്ചിടുന്നു.

വെള്ളിത്തിരയിലെ മുകേഷ് കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ കണ്ട് ഒരു പാട് ചിരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനൊപ്പമോ അതിലേറെയോ ചിരിപ്പിക്കാൻ മുകേഷ് കഥകൾക്ക് സാധിച്ചു. മുകേഷിൻ്റെ കോളേജ് ജീവിതാനുഭാവങ്ങൾ വായിക്കുന്ന ആർക്കും അസൂയ തോന്നിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവിധം രസകരമായാണ് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. മനസ്സൊന്നു തണുക്കാനും നിറഞ്ഞു ചിരിക്കാനുംവേണ്ട ഒറ്റമൂലിയാണ് ഓരോ കഥയും.

കുറച്ചു നാൾ നാട്ടിൽ നിന്നും മാറി നിന്നപ്പോൾ നാടിനോട് ഉണ്ടായ ഒരു തരം ഇഷ്ടം ആണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം വാങ്ങാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചത്. വളർന്ന നാടും സ്ഥലങ്ങളും കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളായി വരുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് വായിക്കാനും തീരുമാനിച്ചു. മുകേഷ് തികച്ചും അമ്പരപ്പിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു.മാഞ്ഞു പോയ ഒരു കാലവും കോളേജ് ജീവിതവും ലളിതമായി വരച്ചിടുകയാണ്‌ മുകേഷ് ഇതിൽ. പൂവലാൻ കഥകൾ ഇത്ര മനോഹരമെഴുതാൻ ആർക്കൊക്കെ കഴിയും എന്ന് ഒരു നിമിഷം ആലോചിച്ചു പോയി.വായിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ അനശ്വര പൂവാലൻ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളായി മുകേഷ് 'വെറുതെ' അഭിനയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നതു തീർച്ചയാണ്.

കൊല്ലം എസ് എൻ കോളേജിൽ ബോട്ടണി പഠിക്കുന്ന കാലം തുടങ്ങിയുള്ള ജീവിതാനുഭവങ്ങളാണ് മുകേഷ് ഈ ഓർമ്മക്കുറിപ്പിൽ പങ്കുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. നർമ്മം നിറഞ്ഞ ഭാഷയിൽ വളരെ ലളിതമായാണ് കൃതി രചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. കോളേജ് കാലത്തെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും മിമിക്രി നാടക രംഗത്തെ സജീവ സാന്നിധ്യവും മുകേഷ് വിവരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

ആദ്യ സിനിമയായ ബലൂൺ പരാജയപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും തുടർന്ന് ബോയിങ് ബോയിങ് , ഇൻ ഹരിഹർ നഗർ തുടങ്ങി വിജയിച്ച സിനിമകളും മുകേഷിന്റെ കരിയർ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഉണ്ട്. ഒരു പൂവാലൻ കഥാപാത്രമായി ആണ് മുകേഷിനെ ഉടനീളം ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഡിസംബർ 2006ൽ ആണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം പബ്ലിഷ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ അപ്ഡേഷൻ ഇല്ല.
