Alone: Stories to Revive the Spirit of Christmas

’Tis the season to be jolly…or is it?

Christmas is meant for togetherness. But what about when you can’t celebrate with family and friends? Or when grief, disappointment, and regret take a seat at your table?

ALONE contains eleven stories to remind us that not everyone looks forward to the lights, the tree, and the excitement of the holidays. But they also illustrate how loneliness can become a community, and kindness can arrive through the tiniest of actions. Let this timely collection of poignant characters revive the spirit of grace, healing, and reconciliation within you.

No one should spend Christmas alone. Fill your cup and cozy up with Caroline, Holly, Chris, and the rest of the characters of ALONE for some authentic holiday goodness.

Alone: Short Stories to Revive the Spirit of Christmas is a heartwarming collection centered on grief, hope, and rediscovering the true spirit of the season.

I was especially touched by “No Holly for the Holidays” by Kari Siegel. It’s a sweet, moving story about a father navigating Christmas with his young daughter while someone they love is not with them. It offers a gentle reminder that the holidays can look very different for every family—and of the sacrifices some make behind the scenes.

Releasing September 29, this would make a thoughtful gift for anyone who could use a little comfort and Christmas spirit.

I've only recently started reading Christmas collections. I love that the Christmas compilations have different themes. Alone: Stories to Revive the Spirit of Christmas was particularly touching for me because not all of my Christmas memories came from "Hallmark" Christmas experiences. Not everyone has a large family-and-friend holiday. This compilation included scenarios that could have ended poorly, but they turned into sweet, happy endings. Just what you'd want from a Christmas story! Well done!

I liked how this book varied in tone and gave you several perspectives on Christmas. It really helps you understand the human experience at Christmas which Varys from person to person.
