Mitch is a bad gay – he hates ABBA – yet despite problems of his own, he’s always ready to step in to help his friends down at the Merch. There’s Lennie, the cross-dressing owner, watching his business slowly fail; Liesel, confused and lacking confidence to take the next step; and Adam, who is dragging a whole wagonload of mocking demons behind him. And if this wasn’t enough, who is the sinister stranger who calls himself Dax, and what exactly is he up to?
Otherwise Normal is a fast, humorous, ultimately upbeat novel following a diverse LGBT+ cast, while at the same time celebrating the community’s differences and ability to work together to overcome adversity.

Hi, I now have two novels out, both aimed at the LGBT+ market - SoWhatIf and Otherwise Normal. Or nearly out in the case of the second one (published 26 Oct). Before that I had a fairly successful career writing novels for children and young adults. I'm so bad with technology that I write all my books with a fountain pen. I also reproduce my main character as Lego mini figures and have them nearby as I work, deriving encouragement from having them watch over me. And, after a while, I consider them as my good luck charms. I'm tremendously excited about Otherwise Normal - it's my best work to date. So here's hoping my little Lego people are still working their magic for me. Cheers - S E David. XXX.
What an enjoyable read, quickly pulling you into the story with a host of well observed characters that were great to spend time with. Humor a plenty, but with moments of great sadness and darkness.
